It's not weak to be emotionally disturbed by an emotionally disturbing novel, it's a human reaction that is vital in making us empathetic. It's what sets us apart from animals that don't care if another animal gets killed. Hope you felt some kind of emotion while reading, because if you didn't, you might be a sociopath.
