Have you read anything by Rainbow Rowell? I would recommend Eleanor & Park or Attachments. I can't remember if I've mentioned these yet haha. I love her! They aren't super short but they are quick reads because they're so can't-put-downable. Just a suggestion!

I agree! Have you read any of Rainbow Rowell's books? Eleanor and Park and Fangirl are her two YA books and they're both wonderful. No dystopian societies or graphic violence (although some coming-of-age sex, but it actually feels authentic and therefor not scandalous). I highly recommend all of her books if you wanna read something feel-good!

I've heard that book is incredible. All the libraries in the area have a bajillion holds on all their copies and I'm too cheap to outright buy it haha. Let me know how it is!

Apologies for not replying sooner. There are no steadfast rules here, so I think TV series is fine for this category.

I had trouble getting into Nancy Drew even when I was young, and I was a voracious reader. I was just more of the Babysitter's Club, Sweet Valley High, Boxcar Children persuasion apparently. Good luck with Nancy!

I read that last year for the Second Chance category - I had first not been able to get through it, but the second time around I forced myself past the spot that I had quit before and turns out I really liked it!

You know, I've never read a Jodi Picoult book, which I know, is crazy. I'm glad you enjoyed your choice! I love a good mystery and am still up in the air about what to read for this category.

I would say that just depends on the nature of the book so just use your best judgement. Say if you're reading a political thriller, I would consider that action/adventure. Or maybe a Dan Brown book?
Hope this helps a bit! Happy reading!

I read Cuckoo's Calling last year for Mystery and it was like molasses for me to get through! I'm glad you enjoyed it; maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a mystery at the time. Do you plan to read The Silkworm as well?
