During my first year of architecture, this book was recommended reading. I found it a kind of heavy to read, but it has lots of quality diagrams and technical drawings of a ton of notable buildings. The introduction part also talks a little bit about construction and structures. I'd rather not read it, but I'll look through it for the illustrations.
