Like Ru, ²Ñã²Ô is beautiful and crystalline. Looking forward to discussing it throughout August on Hello Hemlock!
The writing in this was stunning, taking my breath away many times. And the descriptions of food were gorgeous and made me so hungry. It ended a bit abruptly but it was still beautiful.
Once again, such beautifully tight prose. I loved the shadows of optimism that followed this story. And, I appreciated the layered meaning of this book's seemingly simple title.

Just finished this at the park and gosh, the narrator's story just captivated me. Her honesty about her view of herself, her family, her friendships, her work was just refreshing. Thuy is really becoming one of my favorite authors.

A poetic story, engrossed in the lives of many. An elegant mix of language, doused with culinary references and colonialism.
This is usually the sort of thing I love, but I only liked this. I'll write a full review once I figure out why.
