Okay, I am torn about what I want to write about this book. First off, I did enjoy it. It was an easy read and entertaining. Did I love it, no. Why? Although the story was good, the characters were lacking depth. They were shallow. I couldn’t connect with them. The author introduced them but left us wanting more. This books was a true Barbara hart felt book. To often people assume that because someone doesn't know their haritage that any ethnic, physical or emotional difference come from that side. I was tuched by how Barbara showed the changes that take place in families when this is not so. Thanks Barbara for another wonderful book. ...more

Kinda predictable but addresses an interesting topic of racism within one's own family and one's own conscience. Also includes references to knitting and family history. Quick read. ...more

This book was amazing.. The key is keeping an open mind and realizing that sometimes things are not what they seem. I read this for book club and could not put it down!

If I had been the wife, I would have walked out on him when he demanded a paternity test and never come back, and the book would have been about 50 pages long. Even the wife was unlikeable (particularly where her father was concer ...more

Not my favorite of her books, but this was pretty good. I guess I just felt the subject was weird all together, but interesting. And I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I do with most books I read. ...more

interesting concept/conflict, but the book remained at too high a level to really explore ... I wished it would get into more depth.

Interesting plot about the effects of genetics and lies on family dynamics.
