This was a long book. I think the story could of been told in a 100 pages less.

It had some great parts in it and a few that I wonder why it was there.

We start with 2 main stories. Kelly, who is looking for her daughter that was kidnapped 9 years ago. In Kelly's life is Chet and his wife and the PI, Ernie, who are all trying to help Kelly find her daughter God's way. Oh almost forget Melody. MY REVIEW

This wasn't ones typical Amish read as it doesn't take place amongst the Amish community. The only Amish connection in the book is the nanny, Laura. I never felt she was the main character in the story, and I never felt as if I knew or understood her. So, to me, the cover is a bit misleading! Do definitely don't judge this book by its cover! Although I enjoyed this book, don't expect it to be a typical Beverly Lewis read. It really is not in the Amish genre at all.

It does have a sweet story, though. Despite the fact that Natalie is spoiled, I still fell in love with her. Her quotes and dialogue are funny, sweet, and adorable. My favorite character by far is Jack. He is so committed to fulfilling his responsibility to Natalie that everything else comes second. His character was well written, and he was certainly beyond admirable and lovable.

This book doesn't always flow. At times it seems much is thrown in that doesn't add anything to the story. This wasn't a normal Lewis read that I couldn't put down. The ending is a typical sweet, happy ever after one, but it fell a bit flat for me. I think most readers of this genre, however, will be pleased with how everything turns out perfectly and in place.

Overall, this was a sweet enjoyable read, and I did like seeing Lewis stray from her typical Amish genre. The proving that any child, whether one gives birth to them or not, can become YOUR child was a great message of this book. It, in my opinion, was the best part of this read! I do recommend this book as it was enjoyable and had a great message.

Child of Mine is a fantastic book! It is full of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it all figured out, another curve-ball is thrown in. It is great. I enjoy Beverly's books normally but this one was even better than normal. You have a child sold on the black-market, a child adopted by a family, a nanny and a little girl who wraps herself around your little finger. I can not wait to read another one of her books.

This book started off slow but when it got down to the meat of the story i could not put it down. A child is kidnapped and the anguish of mother who is desperatly trying to find her. At times i was bouncing back and forth on the outcome of the story, kept the pages turning for sure . I can't imagine going through what Kelly went through in this story, not knowing where you child is would be a nightmare and a hard trial to bear. I really loved this book. ...more
