There are two separate stories in this book and they converge at the end. It's quite neat. It's a very witty book with lots of Canadian jokes. Ahaha! I love this author now and I want to read more of her books! The art is great as well, least I forget.

I really enjoy this book!
It follows two teenagers girls. Josey Fraser lives in 1859 Nova Scotia and she meets a man with a dark past and falls in love with him.
In 2009, Tara Fraser is dealing with the burning of her house and she lives with her Aunt and is given a special necklace that has powers of its own.
Things I liked:
The history of Nova Scotia. The historical story was more moving and I wanted more of that story.
I liked the alternate timelines. I also liked the mythical creatures.
