A fascinating book, one would expect no less from Dawkins. However, it does seem to lack some of the overall focus of his previous work. The stated aim is to present the evidence for evolution, and this he does to great effect, erudite and detailed as usual, but then he seems to be in two minds as to his intended audience, sometimes clear and concise, other times abstract and subtle, sometimes very basic and other times assuming a good deal of knowledge on the subject from the reader. For those who know Richard Dawkins from his book "The God Delusion," this book might be a bit of a let-down. As Dawkins himself claims, he already 'wore that shirt,' and doesn't feel the need to address 'history-deniers' in this book as he did in "The God Delusion" (although there are several instances, though brief, where he must).
