What Members Thought
This is considered a great work of literature, and Ms. Undset received the Nobel prize. Despite these indisputable facts, this just did not work for me--I don't know why. I was very caught up in the story at the beginning and on the edge of my seat wondering if Kristen would get caught with Erland or if she would marry him before her condition became obvious. 4.5 stars rounded down. Loved the entire family saga, but the emphasis on sinning and praying and God's will was a bit heavy at times.

Very readable Norwegian family Saga in the 1300's. Enjoyed it to the end.
