Shelves: favorites, uf, kindle-unlimited, ass-kicking-women, shapeshifters

I love this series and these characters, and I loved this book, but it felt a little bit like a bridge taking us into the next book. Couple things that stand out to me though:

1 - I loooooove seeing Heath and Jacky's relationship continue to evolve, and seeing how stable and supportive it is. These two are the perfect counterbalance for each other.

2 - holy shit I may die of anxiety waiting for the news of them to come out

3 - fuck Davor, he is literally trash

In Shades of Hate, Jacky's being tested in many different ways. For many years she was someone who lived a quiet, "ordinary" life, now the changes are coming a very rapid pace.

They saw my truth, and they were going to have it forever. My privacy had been ripped away from me, and there was nothing that could get it back.

So, this author is new to me. I just blew through this series and am happy I discovered it close to the release of book 6. I enjoy this very relatable heroine, the youngest who is always shaking things up. The hero is an alpha who isn't a butthole. In a twist, the heroine is the strongest supernatural creature of the two of them. (lol)
The author in me loves the world this author created and her spin on supernatural creatures. I hope she does more in audiobook as the narrator was excellent. I fl ...more
