This story is fascinating and tragic all at once. The search for lost cities in the Amazon is fascinating, but the waste of lives in doing so, esp. in one family, is tragic. Not an obsession I can relate to.

I had higher hopes for this book. I didn't finish because it there was too much back and forth in time, and jumping between characters. I was waiting for the "meat and potatoes" (the building of the mystery/suspense) and it just wasn't happening. ...more
