Okay, I have reached a new low: I read a young adults novel. Then I reached a newer low: It was about an angst-ridden teenage girl trying to survive the drama and the social hierarchies of high school. And then, if it were possible, an even newer low: I really liked the book. The novel reminded me of a less twisted version of Freaks and Geeks, except this time, it was written and set in the early 2000s. Everything in the book holds true ten years later. Super easy read which is exactly what I was in the mood for. It is clearly a YA novel and deals with subject matter appropriate for that age group. It was easy to identify with the character. It allows an older reader to go back in time and relate with the character. I'm undecided whether or not I'll continue reading the series. It might be good to have around for whenever I'm in need of escape...
