This novel chronicles Jessica Darling's stint in college. I love how fast-paced the book moves. 'Charmed Thirds' is not as good as the first two, but the wonderful biting, obsessive commentary is still present throughout the book. I think I couldn't get into this novel as much as the others because there was less Marcus Flutie drama. And when Marcus was present, he wasn't portrayed in the same way as the first two novels. I would always love Jessica Darling (not just because of her porn star name!). A lot of mature themes are tackled in the book, e.g. love, money and SEX. It taught me a lot about GROWING UP. I've felt that I've known Jessica Darling and I've grown up with her. I'm emotionally attached to this series. There are only two downside to this one: 1) Jessica becoming sex-crazed nymphomaniac. I had to read this one before the second one due to library availability so I was little lost in parts. I was in the mood for something more "fluffy" so I really enjoyed this. Like many other reviewers I can relate to some of the angst that the main character reveals as she moves into her college career. I might consider reading this again in a couple of years, but am glad that I borrowed it from the library rather than running out and purchasing a copy.
