This is one of the strangest and most unique book I’ve read in a long time. Twelve children grow up in a library - not a normal library - but a library with all the information from all of time. Each is assigned one catalog of information to learn. The consequences for not learning are more horrible than can be imagined. As they mature and learn, they become less than human while embodying their subject.
A masterful test with many twists and a surprising end.
