Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ needs half stars! I would give this between 3 1/2 and 4 stars. I enjoyed this book, although at times it moved a bit slowly. However, I enjoyed the characters, especially the narrator, 17 year old Cassandra. This is sort of an Austen-esque tale set after the turn of the century of an impoverished family who lives in a very old, crumbling down castle. This will on my list of favorite books for sure. It is a sentimental coming of age story set in 1930 England, the main character telling the story through her journals in hopes that she will become a writer. She is impulsive, somewhat dramatic, and very witty. It might have been too sugary sweet but the interesting characters and little plot twists and the wit saved it. I just really grew to love some of the characters. I cried when I finished reading it. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could.
