Escaping to the city of Bymere, a place she had only heard about but never visited, Brianna was waitressing in a small inn; she was lonely and desperately homesick for her family, until the day a handsome young man came in for a meal and bed. The sparks which ignited between them shocked them both 鈥� Brianna had no idea what it meant, but Lyall did 鈥� he was a mage, and recognised a kindred spirit in Brianna. Spending a few hours here and there with Lyall before he returned home brought them close, but Brianna knew they could never marry鈥�

Cautiously accepting Lyall鈥檚 invitation to travel to his home, the Isla de Magi, to escape the notice of villagers from Eryvale, the journey on his small sail boat was an exciting adventure. But there was more to come 鈥� the days and weeks with Lyall were proving to be an education to Brianna, in more ways than one, and when she had a terrible, shocking dream 鈥� a dream so real she knew she had to return home immediately, the die was cast. Their life would change from that moment on, but would it be for the best or would the danger be too much? As the ancient past collided with the present, the threat to everything Brianna held dear was immense鈥�.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book! Aussie author Rinelle Grey鈥檚 fantasy books have now gone onto my favourites list, and I can鈥檛 wait to read her next one. A romance with a difference, with magic and illusions; strength, courage and determination 鈥� the characters are excellent, the emotions real. Even if you are not a fantasy lover (which I wasn鈥檛) this isn鈥檛 anything more than a romance with a difference鈥�

I have no hesitation in recommending this novel highly.
