"CAN YOU COME INTO MY office?"
First off, I can't say that I loved this book. I spent a bit of it detesting the main character, especially in the beginning. However, it kept my interest and I warmed up to her eventually. I also liked or loved various other characters. So I'm going to say I really enjoyed it. I even wept towards the end, which is never fun, so poop on you Taylor Jenkins Reid. I call foul. I don't like being a blubbering mess.
"I hate Evelyn, but I think I like her very much."

I loved this book from the start to the end and I could not put it down. This story will grab you from the first few pages and take you along the (love) life of Evelyn Hugo. It will make you laugh, but also cry at times. With every passing page she will tell you everything, even her secrets. You never know if a hyped book is just a hype or if it is really good, but this book didn't disappoint me for one second! So it deserves every one of the 5 points! I also hope in time they will make a mini s

Taylor Jenkins has the ability to put everything well but the genre she chose is absurd. This book has three things:
1. Do whatever it takes to achieve what you want.
2. Family comes first only when you get older
3. Making your audience feels awe about the protagonist which should be a villain in reality.
Killing the protagonist and all the people she loves is the best way of selling what you write. In The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Taylor also showed the dark side of the Media industry which w ...more

An incredible incredible book that I could literally not put down. There's just something intensely readable about it. Featuring an unapologetically badass protagonist who I couldn't help but adore.
Bottom line: It really is as good as everyone says it is. Seriously, you should read it. ...more

i have read a few other books by this author and usually i either really like or dislike them. i tend to like the full-developed stories better than the Hollywood tell-all's she also seems to like to write. this book was pretty much a memoir recapping an elderly lady's life as a legendary Hollywood actress and wife times seven. back then it was frowned upon to use your sexuality to get what you wanted so she often found herself marrying and divorcing in order to further her career. most of the t

2.5 starts rounded up. Everyone I know loves it. I wanted to love it, too, but I didn’t. The only character I cared about was Harry, and a character who’s that likable…well, I won’t spoil it, but suffice it to say I saw that one coming. Now I have to face my friends who gave this book 5 stars. It wasn’t a terrible book…maybe the hype had me expecting more.
