I didn't like this book as much as I did Twilight but after I read them all I understood that it was a major part of the saga and wouldn't have worked without it. The end is really good though.

This book was really dark. I couldn't put the book aside because I wanted to know when Edward would man up and get back to her. I had a hard time liking Jacob, yes he helped her get through a rough time, but it's not like he kept his promise totally, and he should understand that she couldn't let Edward die in Italy, think about how much guilt she would start carrying.

This book was so much better than the first. I love the character of Jacob. The first part of the book was my favorite. Maybe that's because Edward was gone. I did like the second part - after Edward returned - better than the whole of Twilight, but I'm still not an Edward fan.

Only 4 stars, because it is so depressing and almost suicidal and Bella is just such a mess.
