“It’s just that � this kind of thing, it’s life-changing. You see these shootings on the news and there’s no follow-up. You don’t know what becomes of the victims, their families, the shooter’s family. There is a whole network of people, all tied together by this terrible thing. It just makes you realize how strange and fragile and crazy life is. It’s overwhelming, I guess, how little control we all have, how unfair things can be, how fate works.
