Nancy This is not an easy choice. I need to think about this.

message 2: by Gertie (new)

Gertie It's extra hard when we hit the max of ten options.

message 3: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Especially when several sound good.

message 4: by Chip (new)

Chip Sooo...After reflecting on the choices, I've changed my mind, but I cannot seem to figure out how to change my vote in a goodreads poll. It really can't be impossible, can it?

message 5: by Gertie (last edited Apr 14, 2016 05:16PM) (new)

Gertie It's not impossible - I'll make a new How To topic. :-)

/topic/show/...

For convenience, pasting it here too:

Did you vote on a group poll, then realize you'd rather vote for something else? No problem! You can change it, as many times as you'd like!

Before you vote, at the bottom of the poll selections (before the "This poll is about" and comments area),you'll see a link for "Show results". After you have voted, you'll instead see a link for "Change your vote". Voila!

message 6: by Chip (new)

Chip You rock Gertie! I've now changed my mind. I'm suffering a withdrawal - none of my favorite authors have anything new coming out so I am reading a lot of random things lately :)

message 7: by Gertie (new)

Gertie Oh I remember that feeling - I used to have a mental list of authors to check on every time I was at the book store. The weird thing is, I don't check anymore. I just look at my To Read and Got It Unread shelf and choose what looks good. Might be a good idea to actually check on my old favorites and see what they've been up to!

message 8: by Chip (new)

Chip That is the nice thing about goodreads. That monthly email of new things by authors I've read. Although I don't remember getting it the last couple of months, but that could easily be my own fault for email overload.

message 9: by Cory (new)

Cory This month I'd be happy with any of them! Maybe we can carry some over to next month's poll if there's a few that get a higher number of votes but don't win?

message 10: by Gertie (new)

Gertie Definitely Cory, that's what we usually end up doing if the votes are distributed that way.

message 11: by Lupe (new)

Lupe Dominguez NOOOO!!! SO. MANY. GOOD. ONES!!! Waaahhh!!!!!

message 12: by Christina (new)

Christina Now I am tempted to vote!!! I loved Good Omens. So funny! But I'm not going to since I can't commit to reading it. On the bright side, if Good Omens or Peculiar are chosen, I can contribute to discussion!

message 13: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer So...is anyone still voting?

message 14: by Kim (last edited Apr 26, 2016 08:54AM) (new)

Kim I would think the poll will close soon. It will probably take people at least a week to get the book that wins, and then they have to read it.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August is popular at my library, so if it wins, it will be a while before I can get a copy. I suppose that is a good sign - many people wanting to read the book. I think I will read this book whether or not it wins anyway.

I already read Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, but it was over 16 years ago and I don't remember much about it other than I thought it was mildly amusing. I probably still have it somewhere in a box in the basement. I don't think I'll re-read it though.
