Cassandra Clare
“We had and incident. I took care of it."
"Really." Jace's voice dripped sarcasm. "Do you even know how to use that knife, Clarissa? Without poking a hole in yourself or any innocent bystanders?”
Cassandra Clare, City of Ashes

Cassandra Clare
“We're called Shadowhunters. At least, that's what we call ourselves. The Downworlders have less complimentary names for us.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

Cassandra Clare
“So, ninety-five percent of the time."
She craned her head back to look up at time. "Ninety-five percent? What's the other five percent?"
"Oh, you know, the usual--demons I might kill, runes I need to learn, people who've annoyed me recently, people who've annoyed me not so recently, ducks."
"Ducks?"
He waved her question away. "All right. Now watch this." He took her shoulders and turned her gently, so they were both facing the same way. A moment later--she wasn't sure how--the walls of the room seemed to melt away around them, and she found herself stepping out onto cobblestones. She gasped, turning to look behind her, and saw only a black wall, windows high up in an old stone building. Rows of similar house lined the canal they stood besides. If she craned her head to the left, she could see in the distance that the canal opened out into a much larger waterway, lined with grand buildings. Everywhere was the smell of water and stone.
"Cool, huh?" Jace said proudly. She turned and looked at him.
"Ducks?" She said again.
A smile tugged the edge of his mouth. "I hate ducks. Don't know hy. I just always have.”
Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare
“What do you want?"
"Clothes mostly, some weapons."
Sebastian shook his head." Too dangerous. We need to get in and out fast. Only emergency items."
"My favourite jacket is a emergency item," Jace said. It was so much like hearing him talk to Alec, to any of his friends. "Much like myself, it is both snuggly and fashionable.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Lost Souls

Cassandra Clare
“Dios," he said, addressing himself to Jace. "What happened to you, brother? You look as if a pack of wolves tried to tear you apart."
"That's either a shockingly good guess," said Jace, "or you heard about what happened.”
Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare
“She gritted her teeth. She was here with Sebastian, on her way to see a powerful warlock, and mentally she was maundering on about the way Jace smelled.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

Cassandra Clare
“Isabelle: Do you want some soup?
Jace: No
Isabelle: Do you think Hodge will want some soup?
Jace: No one wants soup
Simon: I want some soup!
Jace: No, you don't. You just want to sleep with Isabelle”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

Cassandra Clare
“Oooh, that was fun."
"That does it," said Jace. "I'm going to get you a dictionary for Christmas this year."
"Why?" Isabelle said.
"So you can look up 'fun.' I'm not sure you know what it means.”
Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare
“And I remind you of your mother now? I have got to look into a manlier cologne.”
Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare
“I'm not going to do that."
"of course you're not." Jace said. "because you live to torture me, don't you?"
"Not everything, Jace, is about you." Clary said furiously.
"Possibly," Jace said "But you have to admit that the majority of the things are.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

Cassandra Clare
“Unless... "
Now he looked at her in surprise. "Unless what?"
She jabbed a finger at his shoulder. "When did you get that?"
Jace looked down and saw that the spider demon's poison had eaten a hole in his shirt, leaving a good deal of his left shoulder bare.
"The shirt? At Macy's Winter sale.”
Cassandra Clare City of Ashes

Cassandra Clare
“I swear on the Angel.â€ He ducked his head down, kissed her cheek. “The hell with that.
I swear on us.
Clary wound her fingers into the sleeve of his T-shirt. “Why us?
“Because there isn’t anything I believe in more.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Fallen Angels

Cassandra Clare
“I'm just saying that I think I chose to act the way I did in part because of you. Since I've met you, everything I've done has been in part because of you. I can't untie myself from you, Clary - not my heart or my blood or my mind or any other part of me. And I don't want to.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

Cassandra Clare
“Jace was very pale, with hectic spots like fever on his cheekbones. "But it was Valentine. I saw him. In fact, he had the Sword with him when he came down to the cells and taunted me through the bars. It was like a bad movie, except he didn't actually twirl his mustache.”
Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare
“You're killing me because you want me to give a message to God for you?" Jace shook his head, the point of the blade scraping across his throat. "You're crazier than I thought”
Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

Cassandra Clare
“Let me ask you something,â€ Simon said. “Do you find me fascinating to be around?â€
“What was that? Jace said. “Sorry, I think I fell asleep for a moment. Do, continue with
whatever mesmerizing thing you were saying.”
Cassandra Clare, City of Fallen Angels

“Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?”
Cassandra

Cassandra Clare
“Well, why did you kill Jeremiah? And don't bother feeding me some story about how you just happened to wander along after he spontaneously died. I know you did this.”

You're right. You can't go around killing people.”

Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

Cassandra Clare
“Demons," drawled the blond boy, tracing the word on the air with his finger. "Religiously defined as hell's denizens, the servants of Satan, but understood here, for the purposes of the Clave, to be any malevolent spirit whose origin is outside our own home dimension -”
Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“Ese tipo de amor capaz de consumir el mundo o llevarlo a la gloria”
Cassandra Clare, City of Fallen Angels

Phoebe Lane
"Get it you will. Worry you don't," he said in a weird voice.
"Are you possessed?" Aislynn asked, making Jace throw back his head in laughter. "Did you just develop a speech impediment? Oh my God! Are you having a stroke? Is that why you can't talk right?"
"Yoda is going to be so pissed. May the force protect you, because he sure won't.

“I give it a fifty-fifty chance of total failure. If Kai refuses to repay a debt he legitimately owes, he'll be dishonoured in front of his entire Flight. Thunderbirds always avenge their dead, honour their word, and pay their debts. Those seem to be the only laws they have." Based on what little time I'd spent with them.
Marc frowned. "It's the 'legitimately owes' part that worries me."
"Thus the fifty-fifty shot of failure." I stared up at the nest, watching for any sign of activity. "It all depends on whether or not I'm able to bullshit him into thinking he owes us."
"The odds are always in your favour when bullshit's involved." Jace grinned, and I couldn't help returning his smile.”
