“She enticed me in my days. She allured me in my nights. She bewitched me in myriad unknown ways.”

“What if you lose your muse?
Your mind will keep searching for an unknown palm, an empty core of clustered starry moisture, a broken harmony of a long lost song.
Your heart will trample across moments, scattered here and there hoping to smile through a blank verse, an unmade sculpture, a void cosmos walking through a violet sky.
And your soul?
That, a sparkle of a crimson sun will dance along the glitter of a fragmentary dream, and in a love that clutches you in transience of an eternity, hold your breath in a paradise of a vibrant vision, and there you will find your muse again, once again.
So what if you lose your muse?”

“The world was made of mysteries, and I was only another riddle among the millions. I did not answer him, and though he pretended frustration, I began to see that it pleased him in some strange way. A door that did not open at his knock was a novelty in its own right, and a kind of relief as well. All the world confessed to him. He confessed to me.”

“Writing had become a constant partner. She had become my muse. The moments of my madness made me crave her. She was the reason that I never felt alone. She never let me feel lonely. She enticed me in my days. She allured me in my nights. She bewitched me in myriad unknown ways!”

“But I remember a scene where someone sneaks out into the woods to meet someone. ... And that's where it came from. Everything else is there to turn it from an image into a story. ... That image was strong enough for me to never give up on it, no matter what my editors and agents thought.”

“Don’t look elsewhere. Look inside your dreams, and there you’ll find your mojo and muse.”

“I have observed that the opportunities to chew on failure are as myriad as fork designs. In each there is a little death, and the first response to such a death is usually anger.”

“Chimes at the Edge of Hearing (2011)
Chimes in the heavens sound so fine,
Whither does it go; how it chimes the time.
Tumultuous river of colored tinselly sounds,
Their music brasses forth, it has no bounds.
Tinkle clackle tinke koo,
How infinite the melody with notes so few.
Chimes clanging silent at the edge of hearing,
Does it not sound so jingly and endearing?
Klankle ping chinkle cree,
Quite the sound of discordant harmony.
Pakkle kikkle ringly kat,
Chimes echo out; they drift cackling back.
A cacophony of clingles, pims and tinkle-ets,
Chimes shinkle loud at the crescendo of their octets.
Pakickle tamtankle jjingling kites,
They fly into darkness on the clatter of midnight.
Chimes symphonic at the coming black storm,
Upon the shrieks their shimmering rrrings are born.
Sounds and silences; the glistening chimes adorn,
Haunting images of sounds so distant and forlorned.
Cymbal they together; the sound of crackly glass,
They remind of the times and rattles of the past.
Metals on metals trinklelink clapping down the time,
Their clittering rhythms broke, raw and refined.
Concerto of jangles jinkles and dings,
See their sound, how pleasant they dream.
Off they go, winds klickle on smooth breeze,
And chinkle and pinkle through my melodic tree.

“Compliance is about the promise of safety and reassurance sold to us by powerful entities during times of vulnerability. Gangs, governments, demagogues, social media algorithms & religions seduce us with misleading untruths and comforting fables. They want us to join their narrow worldview in exchange for obedience and turning a blind eye to our own internal voice of reason & compassion. They just need our Compliance.”
