Myosotis, Bloodlines and Shrines

Myosotis
“Maybe threats and taunts and anger and violence were the only things he’d respond to. Maybe patience and love and time weren’t good for him, not to snap him out of the darkness he’d sunk in.
Thinking about it, Lee couldn’t see why she hadn’t thought of it sooner: Ren and her had always been drawn to raw emotions pain, anger, jealousy, envy, wrath, lust. They were fire, and would only respond to flame scorching their hearts, poking at the pain, tearing it out at the root.”
Myosotis, Vengeance and Legends

Colleen Hoover
“You know what? I said to him.
He slid his fingers through mine and squeezed my hand. “What?
“You’re my favorite person.
I felt him laugh a little and it made me smile.
“Out of how many people? he asked.
“All of them.
He kissed the top of my head and said, “You’re my favorite person, too, Lily. By a long shot.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Jaimie Roberts
“My hands rise up, touching my face, feeling the soft outline of my own skin—and yet, it’s not my skin.

It’s Kendra Banks’s.”
Jaimie Roberts, One Wish

J.L. Berg
“«And now? Now that you've peeked behind the curtain and gotten to see the real Jude, am I still perfect?» I asked with a wolfish grin.
«No.» She laughed. «You snore when you're sick, and you never put the toilet seat down. And don't get me started on the empty cereal boxes in the pantry.»
I chucked under my breath.
«But I wouldn't want you any other way,» she said with sincerity.

[...]

«You know,» I began, «you're not perfect anymore either.»
«Oh, yeah?»
«The minute I saw those feminine products all over my bathroom, you suddenly became a little less perfect.»
She laughed, shaking her head. «Tampons? Really? Holding my hair back in the hospital while I puked my guts out didn't do it?»
«No. That just reminded me how strong you were,» I answered honestly. «How strong you still are.»”
J.L. Berg, Beyond These Walls

Jay Kristoff
“La ragazza espirò l'ennesima nuvoletta grigia, poi schiacciò il sigaretto con il tacco dello stivale. Sputò nel vento. E così, all'improvviso, il giovane Tric si innamorò.”
Jay Kristoff, Nevernight

Heather Walter
“Tragedy teaches us things about ourselves and about others. Sometimes we do not like what we see, but we have to look anyway. We have to know.”
Heather Walter, Misrule

Merche Diolch
“Llevo muchos años rememorando ese beso que nos dimos bajo la luna, en el planetario, tanto... que he llegado a pensar que fue un sueño. Un sueño perfecto que no pudo ser real, por lo que necesito asegurarme de que no ha sido mi cabeza la que lo ha maquillado para que pueda continuar con mi vida".”

“Only in New Orleans could you find a siren, a werewolf, and an elf hanging out together in a bar.”
Sara Reynolds, Silencing The Siren

Myosotis
“I wanted to remember what you felt like, Kai’s words from earlier that day sank in his mind and rippled in his body, like a rock thrown on a deep lake, stirring up the waters that had remained calm right until that moment. Ren had never forgotten what his past lover felt like. Kai was a breath of fresh air, nourishing the fire within, making Ren burn bright but Ren had always feared losing control. He feared becoming a flame too big, too dangerous and frightening that could burn Kai to the bone.
That was why he had promised himself to keep away from his heart.”
Myosotis, Potions and Arsons

Brooke Gilbert
“He was the real deal, like my very own Clark Gable character from a classic film. But, unlike Mr. Gable, Colin really did “give a”
Brooke Gilbert, The Paris Soulmate

Helen Hoang
“Si rifiutò di piangere. Se lui non l’amava, l’avrebbe fatto qualcun altro. Non si sarebbe accontentata di un amore a senso unico. Non in quella vita. Mai.”
Helen Hoang, The Bride Test

“Everyone's going down in this new Generation.”
DR. POISON KING

Myosotis
“Grief never leaves one’s soul. You grow around it, like a flower pushing roots around rocky ground to survive. You are still the same person, you’ve just evolved around your experiences. You’ll bloom again, but only if you keep trying.”
Myosotis, Vengeance and Legends

Nicole Sobon
“You were utterly perfect, he said, forcing me from my
thoughts. “I’ve never hated myself more than I did that night
because you were the girl I should’ve been with. You were the
one I wanted to be with.
And yet, I wasn’t the one he’d chosen to go with.
Even now, all of these years later, it still hurt to recall the
pain I’d felt after he bailed on me. And hearing him say those
words? Well, they kind of pissed me off. “Then why didn’t
you do something back then?
He pressed his forehead to mine and closed his eyes. He
dropped his right hand to my hip and tugged on the fabric of
my pajama shorts, bunching the fabric in his fist. “Because I
was a fucking idiot, Gemma.
“Besides, you wouldn’t have wanted me back then, he
continued. “Back then? I spent most of my time thinking with
my dick, and you deserved a hell of a lot better than me. You,
Gemma Michaels, deserve the world.
He ran his left hand up the side of my body, bringing his
hand to rest at my waist, and I had to fight the urge to pull
him closer to me. I wanted more, but I wanted to see how far
he was willing to take things, first.
“And I would like to be the one to show you that, he
said.
“Show me what? I asked.
He grinned. “The world, sweetheart.”
Nicole Sobon, Collide (Episode One)

Nicole Sobon
“When a knock finally sounded from outside the apartment,
I eagerly rose to my feet and made my way toward the door to
let him in. “You do realize you have a key, correct? I teased,
trying to bite back my nerves. “You don’t have to knock.
“I don’t have to, but I wanted to. He leaned in and gave
me a peck on my cheek and I took in the smell of his cologne.
It was light enough that it was hardly noticeable from a
distance, but up close, it was a mesmerizing scent, one
reminiscent of sandalwood. He pulled a small bouquet of
flowers from behind his back and handed them to me. “Your
favorite, of course."
All at once, my nerves seemed to ease up. I smiled as I
took the purple tulips from Ben and went in search of a vase
to store them in. “I’ll admit, I can get used to this.
“Is that so? He cocked a brow as he followed me into the
kitchen. “Well, I’ll admit, I could get used to you like this.
He moved in behind me as I stood at the sink, filling a
vase with water for the flowers, and wrapped his arms around
my waist. “I’m a lucky man, he whispered, leaning in closely
so that his warm breath caught against my neck, eliciting a
chill throughout my body. “You look amazing, Gems. So
much so that I fear if we don’t leave soon, I won’t be able to
stop myself from dragging you to your bedroom.
“Is that supposed to be a threat or an offer?
I grabbed hold of his arms and pressed back against him.
In response, he let out a growl. “Don’t tempt me, love. It’s
already hard enough, he insisted. “We’re supposed to do
things the right way, remember?
“Ah, yes. You and your ‘right way nonsense. I leaned my
head back to look up at him and grinned because I knew he
was fighting it, and it would only be a matter of time before
he caved. “I know you and sooner or later, you’re going to
give in.
“Don’t tempt me, love. He pulled one of his hands from
mine and ran his right thumb over my jaw. “I’m trying to be
good here.
“But maybe I don’t want you to be good, Benjamin.”
Nicole Sobon, Collide: Episode Two

Nicole Sobon
“I’d always wondered if I would ever encounter that kind of
love. If I’d ever be so lucky to know what it was like to
willingly give everything I had to one person. I’d always
thought it was a long shot. Me? In love, better yet, willing to
settle down? Yeah, right.
Gemma Michaels had other plans, though. The night we
spent together at the park was the promise of what was to
come; we just didn’t know it then.
“I wanted to bring you back to the place where I began to
fall in love with you, I’d said.
My lips twitched as tears began to swell at the corners of
Gemma’s eyes. “You bastard, she said with a laugh.
“Remember how I said you lack charm? I was wrong. You can
be pretty charming when you want to be.
“Only when it comes to you, love.
“Okay, no need to overdo it, bigshot. You’ve already got
.
When we got older, Molly asked my dad why he’d
ultimately decided to stay following Mom’s affair. His answer
had been simple. “No one is without fault, Molly. Giving up
on the person that matters most to you because they acted out
of fear is not love—you fight for love, dear. Because things
worth caring about, the things that make your heart race,
those are the things worth fighting for.
I didn’t get it then.
But now, as I looked into Gemma’s eyes, I finally
understood what he’d meant.”
Nicole Sobon, Collide: Episode Four

Nicole Sobon
“As she waitress hurried off toward the back, I turned to
look at Gemma and grinned. “Benjamin? The full name,
Gems? Was that really necessary?
She leaned in and laughed. “A girl’s gotta have some fun.
“Well, I could think of a few ways to aid in that cause.
Blood rushed to Gemma’s cheeks as she glanced around,
apparently to make sure no one had been paying us any mind.
Fortunately for her, no one else was within earshot, allowing her to relax. Still, it didn’t take away from my pleasure of
seeing her squirm in her seat. Although she wouldn’t admit it
aloud, I knew Gemma’s mind had gone there, too.
“Will you behave? This is a fine-dining establishment, she
quipped.
“You’re adorable. I leaned over, somewhat hanging off
the stool, and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. “Now let’s get
you some pizza, shall we?
“I knew there was a reason I loved you.”
Nicole Sobon, Collide: Episode Three

Colleen Hoover
“Do you always say exactly what’s on your mind?
He shrugs. “Not to most people.
This makes me smile. I like that he doesn’t even know me, but for whatever reason, I’m not considered most people to him.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover
“The two times I’ve spent with Ryle were on days I’d probably rather forget. My father’s funeral and spraining my ankle. But somehow, him being present made them feel like less of the disasters they were.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover
“He reached over and tucked my hair behind my ear. I liked it when he did that and I suddenly wasn’t nearly as mad anymore. Then he put his arm around me and pulled me to him so that my head was resting on his shoulder. I don’t know how he calmed me down without even talking, but he did. Some people just have a calming presence about them and he’s one of those people.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover
“I wonder if maybe he’s just doing this to please me. If maybe he’s doing things he doesn’t really want to do just because he knows I want a relationship.
And then I smile even bigger, because isn’t that what it’s all about? Sacrificing for the person you like so that you can see them happy?”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover
“I can’t for the life of me figure out how people function from day to day when they like someone this much. […] He tells funny stories. I love it when he’s in a talkative mood, because it doesn’t happen very often, but he uses his hands a lot. He smiles a lot, too, and I love his smile even more than I love his kiss. And sometimes I just tell him to shut up and stop smiling or talking so I can stare at him. I like looking at his eyes.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover
“I never thought I could love something so much. Or maybe what I was feeling wasn’t for the gift, but for him.”
