Earlier this year I unexpectedly lost my beloved cat to a rare and sudden illness. She was my first pet, and my partner and I had only had her 2 years. She was a rescue. Our relationship to her was similar to Sotaru’s and Nana’s.
I’m not a big crier but this book had me in tears. The fact that I was at work was the only thing that saved me from ugly crying. This book was so beautiful and heartbreaking and wonderful.
I loved their trip. It was so perfect and something I wish I could have had. I loved all of the imagery on their travels, especially towards the end. The epilogue?? Incredible.
I can’t wait to re-read this book someday. It truly deeply touched me in so many ways. I have so many quotes from it saved. I am having my boyfriend read it next.
