While still delivering on the heat and spice, this new series shifts towards a lighter atmosphere.
I appreciated the tender and supportive moments between the main characters, Monroe and Sadie. However, I must admit that their chemistry didn’t quite ignite for me as strongly as the connection between Monroe's brother and Sadie's sister. That pair’s dynamic has genuinely caught my attention, and I’m eagerly anticipating their story in future books.
The narrative weaves together several compelling threads, including the struggles with the vineyard, the wicked mother-in-law, Monroe's grandfather’s situation, and the complex bond between Sadie and her sisters. These storylines kept me engaged throughout the book. However, the lack of complete resolution left me craving more by the end.
Overall, Sparrow and Vine was an enjoyable read, despite a few minor pacing bumps. That being said, my curiosity about the other sister and brother's story is strong enough to ensure that I’ll continue with this series.

Featuring fantastic tropes such as brother’s best friend, forced proximity, and forbidden romance, The Endless Fall delivers an intriguing mix of mystery and spice.
Before diving into this story, be sure to check the trigger warnings as certain events might be sensitive for some readers.
Right from the start, the captivating plot pulled me in. The creepy cult-like atmosphere created an unsettling sense of intrigue, leaving me questioning the town's secrets and the way it influences those closest to our protagonist, Willa as the story goes.
Willa’s journey is a challenging one. With a traumatic past weighing heavily on her, witnessing how the townspeople—and even her own family—treat her was heartbreaking and infuriating. But, her growth throughout the story is admirable; as Willa slowly steps out of her comfort zone and begins to prioritize herself.
The slow-burn romance between Willa and Ryker is truly satisfying, as Willa discovers new depths to Ryker. The forbidden connection adds tension as they struggle with their growing feelings. Despite Ryker’s protectiveness and obsessiveness, he supports her unconditionally, fully trusts her and looks beyond her traumatic past.
The final chapters are full of shocking twists, answering some of the lingering mysteries while leaving others unresolved. The shocking cliffhanger had me wishing for the sequel in the Deadwood Duet series right away!
Overall, The Endless Fall is a gripping start to what promises to be a thrilling series—a spicy, atmospheric romance that kept me hooked until the very last page!

Inked in A“When all is said and done, magic, and authority will be returned to where it rightly belongs: the hand of the people. All the people.
Inked in Ashes offers an intriguing plot that captured my curiosity with its fascinating premise. Harmony, the main character, finds herself in a fairytale—a dream come true for every reader!
The magical world-building is beautifully crafted, evoking a true fairytale atmosphere throughout the story. The plot is both compelling and well-paced, seamlessly balancing moments of action and introspection. Harmony's mysterious past and the prophecy at the heart of the story kept me thoroughly engaged.
The characters are genuinely likable, from the well-developed protagonist to the memorable supporting cast, all of whom add depth to the plot. Harmony also forms meaningful connections throughout the story, from supportive friendships to unique connection she share with her falcon.
The story ends with a sense of mystery, leaving me curious about what lies ahead for Harmony in the sequel. With so many lingering mysteries, hopefully the next installment will provide some answers.
Overall, this book is a promising start to a fairytale fantasy series. Recommended for romantasy lovers who enjoy stories with slow-burn romance, found family and secret identity trope!
The captivating plot and enchanting world-building have ensured that I’ll be continuing this series. I’m eagerly anticipating the sequel, set to release this June!

Having read two books in this series so far, I can confidently say this one has stolen the top spot as my absolute favorite! The Girlfriend Zone introduces us to a new couple, Miles and Leighton, in a love story that follows a hockey player and the coach’s daughter—a trope that promises drama and delivers in all the best ways!
Miles is the epitome of a "green flag" guy—thoughtful, fun, sweet, and endlessly supportive of Leighton. His unwavering dedication to her needs, his care to ensure her comfort and safety, and his overall kindness make it no surprise that Leighton couldn’t resist him, even after a year apart. He’s easily one of the sweetest characters I’ve come across in a romance novel!!
Leighton is a compelling character; her unique photography style—boudoir photography—caught my attention and added an intriguing layer to her story. It focuses on empowering women to embrace their confidence and step out of their comfort zones. I absolutely loved how it was portrayed.
As for the romance itself? It’s an exquisite blend of tender, heartfelt moments and angsty, heart-wrenching twists, complemented by a few thrilling spicy scenes! The push-and-pull dynamic between Miles and Leighton is a delightful to see, making their eventual happy ending all the more satisfying and rewarding.
Overall, The Girlfriend Zone is a fantastic addition to this series. I’ll definitely be sticking around to see what’s in store next—who the next couple will be and which trope their story will explore!

I like the concept of the elite university with several supernatural being like vampires, fae and angels gathered to study. I keep pushing out to read this lengthy book because of the mysterious stalker and deaths in the university as well which seems to target Summer.
What truly stood out to me from this story was Summer's incredible character growth throughout the story. Watching her slowly open her heart and allow herself to be more vulnerable was such a joy—especially through her budding, chaotic friendship with Alice.
And then there’s Connor. I have so much admiration for his persistence in breaking through Summer’s defenses. Their relationship development was compelling.
Although, as much as I enjoyed this book, the length felt a bit overwhelming for one book. Despite its thickness, some events moved a little too fast—like Summer instantly clicking with Alice and becoming best friends.
While I adored Summer and Connor’s interactions—they are undeniably cute—the sheer number of spicy moments between them started to feel repetitive at times. I found myself longing for more focus on the mysterious deaths, Summer’s intriguing past, and the enigmatic stranger who keeps appearing. These captivating elements weren’t explored deeply until the final chapters, leaving me wanting more.
This book left me with so many questions, and that ending—oh my goodness! The authors wrapped up this story with the ultimate unexpected cliffhanger, it made me curious enough to continue this series. I'll keep an eye out for the sequel in the future.

If you're looking for a quick and heart-warming romance, The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez is a perfect choice! In just 82 pages, the author crafts a charming and sweet story of two neighbors who discover love and friendship in the most unexpected way!
Despite the short length, the chemistry between Charlotte and Seth is unmistakable and their playful tree puns add a delightful touch to the story. Seth's unwavering support and encouragement for Charlotte as she faces her stalker problem make him a very endearing character, he’s a total sweetheart!
The secondary characters, Gabe and Izzy, with their grumpy x sunshine dynamic, are equally captivating and add depth to this short story.
Overall, this is a delightful read that kept me smiling and laughing throughout. It’s my first book by Abby Jimenez, and it certainly won’t be my last. I can’t wait to explore her other full-length novels in the future!

As the 2nd book in the Cursed Captors series, it maintains a loose connection to the first book, yet stands strong as an engaging standalone read.
The pairing of a fierce and badass FMC with a lovable cinnamon roll king who carries a fearsome title is both surprising and enchanting. I quickly grew fond of them as a couple. The enemies-to-lovers is delight to read, with the gradual unveiling of the king’s curses and Vespera’s backstory adding depth and intrigue.
I also adore some of the unexpected friendships Vespera formed along the story, like with Celeste and Savryn.
Though it’s a novella and the romance develop swiftly, the tension between the main characters is captivating, resulting in some delightfully steamy scenes!

The author has done such a great job in crafting this exceptional, emotional tale of fantasy, horror, love, grief and tragedy with lush world-building making me feel connected to the characters within just a few pages.
The lyrical writing style delivered this story incredibly well, and the story concludes in a satisfying way. This may be the first short book that I've felt completely satisfied with, without wishing it were a full-length novel.

I love the first book, and I was very excited to read the sequel, The Bond that Burns which started right after the ending of Book 1, On Wings of Blood. Truthfully, I have mixed feelings about this book.
Plotwise, it was fascinating. I was intrigued as Medra set out on a mission to uncover the hidden history of the dragons and their riders, as well as secrets kept from the public by the Four Houses. Not only that, but another shocking secret finally came to light.
Medra is doing her best under the immense pressure and expectations of being the only dragon rider. I admired the way she stands up for herself and her dragon, and her friendship with Florence. And who could forget the adorable Neville ? It’s impossible not to love him; his cute antics always liven up the story!
While I enjoyed the storyline and love the characters, the direction of the romance wasn’t what I expected. I spend most of the time hating Blake (Medra’s love interest) due to his attitude and action toward Medra, which angered me so much! Initially, I was rooting for Medra and Blake, but after this book, I no longer feel the same way. I don’t get the Dramione vibes anymore and I think Medra deserves better than Blake
The last few chapters were quite intense, with twist after twist, some of which were left unanswered. This left me wishing I had the next book in the series.
Overall, this was still a pretty good sequel. The easy-to-read writing style, short chapters, epic world building and loveable characters kept my eyes glued to my Kindle. Despite my mixed feelings, I’m continuing the series since I’m curious to see what the author has in store next.

It’s a story I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, though be mindful that it does touch on some sensitive topics.
The plot hooked me from the very beginning, following Sydney, a 17-year-old heart transplant recipient, as she gains a second chance at life. Her journey to battle with survivor's guilt and uncover the life of her donor, Mia, was both emotional and captivating.
Erin Stewart masterfully handles these heavy topics, making me appreciate life even more through the perspectives of Sydney, Chloe, and Clayton. The exploration of organ donation’s realities from Sydney and Chloe’s stories also deepened my admiration for their resilience and unwavering hope.
The characters are wonderfully developed, each with their own secrets, flaws, and personal challenges. The rawness of their emotions made it easy to connect with them.
Overall, Every Borrowed Beat is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, wrapping up beautifully with a hopeful ending. I devoured this book in just one day and am now eager to explore more of Erin Stewart’s works. She might just become a new favorite author of mine!

The Rebel and the Captive picks up right where the 2nd book left off, following Tristan's quest to save Cassandra. It also introduces a fresh set of characters, including a few familiar faces from The Butcher and the Ballerina—Ronin and Mireille officially join the gang! If you're worried about forgetting the events of the previous books, fear not—the author kindly provides a recap for books 2 and 2.5 These recaps are one of the things I like from this series!
The author has done an excellent job of crafting a seamless, well-paced plot that kept me glued to my Kindle from start to finish! The use of multiple POVs is a fantastic touch, offering deeper insight into various perspectives as multiple events unfold simultaneously across different locations. Each POV is equally compelling, with none feeling more or less engaging than the others.
Cassandra's character growth shines in this installment. After gaining a new body, she must learn to survive and reconnect with her friends and Tristan, her lover. Her training with Ronin and Mireille pays off spectacularly, and her newfound power is impressive!
This series continues to improve with every book, and I am now thoroughly invested in both the plot and the characters. The wait for book 4 is going to be a hard one, especially after that cliffhanger ending and its unexpected twist, which genuinely caught me off guard!
Overall, The Rebel and the Captive is a fantastic addition to the series—highly enjoyable, entertaining, and utterly addictive. I wholeheartedly recommend it to fantasy romance fans who love star-crossed lovers, grumpy x sunshine dynamics, prophecies, hidden identities, rebellion, and a sprinkle of spicy moments. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next instalment to see what happens next!

The world-building is fascinating, with no Nightweaver serves as a fantastic start to a new YA fantasy series, one that I see myself revisiting again!
The world-building is fascinating, with no info-dumping. Everything was explained gradually throughout the story in detail, which never made me feel overwhelmed. Beyond the epic world-building, the mystery element of the plot kept me hooked from beginning to end. I found myself constantly flipping the pages to learn more about Aster, the monster, and the nightweaver.
As I delved deeper into the book, I formed my own wild theories. Most of them proved to be accurate, but I still enjoyed seeing how everything unfolded from Aster’s POV. Her perspective added depth to the story and kept me engaged.
I'm curious about the direction the author will take regarding Aster’s love life. Initially, I wasn't aware of the love-triangle situation. Admittedly, it's hard to predict who she’ll end up with, but I'm leaning towards the one who truly sees Aster for who she is and encourages her growth.
Overall, this is an impressive debut novel! It was a page-turner with unexpected twists and a shocking cliffhanger at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading it and am eagerly looking forward to the sequel. I will definitely keep an eye out for the next installment in this series!

Picking up right where Sword Catcher left off, The Ragpicker King dives straight into the heart of Castellane’s mysteries and conflicts. With the groundwork of world-building and character introductions firmly established in the first book, the sequel wastes no time getting straight into the thick of the action.
Personally, I find the Ragpicker King far more enjoyable. The characters felt more fleshed out, and the story pulled me in deeper as betrayals unraveled, schemes unfolded, and long-hidden secrets came to light.
Conor’s character development stood out the most! Witnessing his evolving actions, attitudes, and relationship with Lin was both captivating and heart-wrenching. Every moment involving Conor and Lin tugged at my emotions—my heart broke alongside theirs. I’m eager (and a little nervous!) to see what the future holds for them in the next book.
The ending, with its unexpected twists and turns, especially revelations about the Ragpicker King, was truly mind-blowing!
Overall, The Ragpicker King is a fantastic sequel—an emotionally charged, well-written continuation of the series. The author has delivered another spectacular story that left me eagerly anticipating what comes next after that gut-wrenching cliffhanger!

Featuring a vampire lord and a witch thief, this story delivers a compelling mix of magic, tension, and intrigue.
A word of caution: some content in this book delves into darker themes that may be sensitive for some readers, so I strongly recommend reviewing the content warnings beforehand.
As the first installment in the series, Never Run From an Immortal is a promising start to a new romantasy world! The rich, immersive world-building immediately drew me in, especially with its unique blend of magical powers and advanced technology—making the setting all the more exciting to explore.
The story is told from dual POV: Rae, a witch, and Aidan, a vampire lord. Both characters are morally complex and hidden in secrets they’ve guarded for years. This depth adds layers to their personalities, making them fascinating protagonists to follow.
The dynamic between Rae and Aidan is a delightful mix of banter, flirtation, and palpable tension. Their moments of sweetness are heartwarming, and I’m eager to see more of their relationship develop in the next book! As the story progressed, I found myself connecting with them and gaining a better understanding of their characters and reasons.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Rae and Aidan’s story it was both entertaining and captivating. With the unexpected twists in the final chapter, I’m excited to dive into the sequel and discover where the author takes this series next!

Do you want to dive into a world where ancient conflicts collide with forbidden love, and discover the magic that binds them together ? Look no further, and pick up Elly Blake’s newest book, The Forest King’s Daughter!
Though the story unfolds at a leisurely pace, it allows for a deeper exploration of the characters and the magical world, making each moment more impactful. I wish there were a book map of it at the front of the book which would be lovely since the characters move to several different places throughout the story.
Told from Cassia’s POV, we follow her journey in trying to save her people and figuring out the ring’s power with a certain broody winged male —Zeru—that always rile her up but also supported her in his own way. One thing I found myself wanting as the story progressed was seeing the events unfold from Zeru’s POV.
Furthermore, seeing Cassia’s character develop throughout the story was delightful as she finally learns her self-worth and following her own path rather than following her father.
The romance has a balanced amount of banter and sweet moments. The complexity of their relationship, due to their family situations being enemies for years, adds depth. Yet, their strong bond from childhood could not remain buried deep pushing them toward each other and finally embracing their true feelings.
Overall, The Forest King’s Daughter is a tale of love, self-discovery and the burden as well as responsibility of having great power. While most things are wrapped up nicely, the ending also offers a glimpse of what’s coming next, and I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series to explore more of the world-building!

The dual perspectives of Faron and Elara on different sides of the conflict were particularly interesting. Faron's journey, trapped behind enemy lines, reveals that not everything is black and white. Her character development as she navigates the grey areas against the villain is compelling. On the other hand, Elara's evolving relationship with Signey adds an interesting dynamic to the story.
However, the pacing at the beginning was too slow, causing my interest to drop slowly as the story goes. Just as the plot began to pick up, it felt rushed, leading to a somewhat abrupt ending. Compared to the first book, this sequel falls a bit flat despite featuring more action and dragons, which should have captured my interest.
I believe I would have enjoyed this story more had I re-read the 1st book, as I spent much of my time trying to remember who the characters were and their importance to the plot. Therefore, I highly recommend re-reading the 1st book if it's been a while since you last picked it up, to avoid confusion at the beginning.
While there are parts of the book that I loved, a few issues prevented me from fully enjoying the conclusion of this duology.

Another stunning story from Sue Lynn Tan—she never disappoints! Her beautiful, descriptive writing style captivates me from the beginning to the end!
The rich, magical world-building and loveable characters, combined with dangers lurking in every corner and long-buried secrets make this book unputdownable! The story explores important themes such as self-discovery, resilience, love, and vengeance teaching us that not all matters are black and white.
I admire Liyen’s character. She’s brave, compassionate and her determination is unparalleled. Following her journey travelling to the Immortal realm and the Netherworld, facing dangers and uncovering the truth to free her people, is exhilarating.

The story follows Maeve and Asher, whose chemistry as friends and lovers is intense and compelling. The characters are incredibly lovable; I enjoyed their interactions, particularly Asher with his dads, and Maeve with her brother and best friends. Watching Maeve and Asher have fun, be vulnerable, and share their fear and feelings added depth to their relationship.
As much as I like the slow-burn romance between Asher and Maeve, there were moments when it felt prolonged and a bit frustrating. Their reluctance to be honest with their feelings seemed drawn out, especially knowing they would eventually get together at the end.
Overall, it was an enjoYable read and gave a refreshing experience in a genre I don’t usually read. I adore the characters and the easy-to-read writing style. Medra is a fierce, determined and curious girl who found herself in a strange world and betrothed to a vampire prince. I really enjoyed following her story as she navigates through this new world seeing how she tried to survive and made friendships with Florence and Naveen.
Blake is a mysterious, cruel and arrogant guy, although he also has a soft side which we see more of from his POV. I liked seeing Medra and Blake’s attraction grows into something more as we delved deeper into the story. However, his possessiveness towards Medra can be slightly alarming. After that last chapter, I’m curious to see how their relationship will progress in the next book.
There were lots of twists and turns near the ending, as betrayals and dark secrets starts to come out one by one. I’m hoping we’ll get to explore more of the world building and also get to know more about the dragons and their rider’s history in the next book.
Overall, this was an entertaining and addicting dark academia romantasy! I was hooked right from the start and I’m looking forward to read the sequel coming out very soon!
