Let's start with the romance first, because even tho it was sold to me as Mystery-Romcom or something, reading the actual book felt like a romance book where the fmc just really likes mysteries. The romance started off good, it was cute and the banters were fun! I was enjoying it even though I had no way of understanding why was it allegedly enemies to lovers or why she hated him? (and trust me even after finding out the reason, I still do not understand!) Well I WAS ignoring Maggie could not stop sexualizing the man like girl can you shut the fuck about his goddamn shoulders? WE GET IT THEY ARE OH SO BROAD AND SEXY AND EUGHHH. Then they actually started to, kind of date? well then it started getting bad, really bad. The conversations felt like paragraphs copy-pasted from character ai, and trust me I'm not exaggerating like "he growled" "his voice was low and dark" "HIS BODY WENT STIFF BC HOW DARE SOMEONE TOUCH HIS GIRL WHO KNOWS HIM FOR 2 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS" Let me paste some actual paragraphs from the book.

If you've read the book you know what paragraph this is from and that traumatized me genuinely.

I can see the author writing this and smiling and nodding and thinking Mmhh the booktok is gonna love it!
And now let's talk about the mystery, which was nothing! Yes! I don't know if I'm dumb, mad or sleep deprived but I don't think anyone can actually explain the fucking point of the book because there is none! Why did Eleanour disappear? Why didn't she just solve it herself? If she couldn't prove it herself why was she so fucking dramatic about it?? AND HOW DID MAGGIE AND ETHAN SOLVED THE FUCKING MYSTERY JUST LIKE THAT??? WHERE ARE THE MISSING CHAPTERS?? and the question of the yearrrrrr HOW DID ELEANOUR GET OUT OF THAT OFFICE? I think we all know that even the author doesn't know.
This book was so bad that it's funny. Like when something terrible happens to you and you just can't believe your luck and laugh? That's exactly how this book felt like....more

I always rant in my reviews about how much I need Freida to write a romcom bla bla and I think this might be the closest thing I've got. And I'm not complaining, it's absolutely adorable with really crazy(and gorey)plot twists. All of the couples I needed to endup, ended up perfectly. (although I'd be happy if the fmc died she was the most judgemental bitch ever) Around 50% of the book, while buddy reading it with my friend, I jokingly texted her "what if daisy is killing all of Tom's love interests bc she's a psycho girlfriend" We laughed about it and thought that's way too clever and unhinged. ONLY TO FIND OUT IT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS ??? EVEN IF I ALLEGEDLY "PREDICTED" IT, I NEEDED LIKE 10 MINUTES TO PROCESS EVERYTHING. I haven't been THIS shocked with a thriller in SO SO SO LONG. I am so happy....more

It wasn't extremely shocking, like didn't leave me jaw-dropped-screaming-did not see that coming but it was still good, similar themes to the first book but I still did not see that coming on Wendy's part. But that could be because I always read books with my brain turned off....more

If you also love AGGGTM (but with a way funnier protagonist), this is exactly what you need. I don't know if the plot twist of the book is suppose to be obvious or predictable like a lot of people said, but I definitely did not see it coming. Well it could be because I didn't try to guess it, I was enjoying the process wayyyy too much (note- this book has an amazing audiobook and even though I don't listen to audiobooks like ever, I was enjoying it way more because of that) that I didn't felt the need to discover the mystery before the characters. I just had fun them doing it for me. And it just helps that the humor of the book is amazing. I absolutely adore Lucy because who also doesn't loves making sarcastic comments at the wrong moment and make jokes about your trauma, right? And the romance was also serving right. Ben is such a sweetheart. The effort that I put into reading this book(which is alot because my audiobook wasn't cooperating, and so wasn't my wifi and phone while reading it) was definitely worth it....more

I picked it up as a slump read (which I am in one every 2 weeks) but didn't expect to actually end up liking it. I finished it in a day for god's sake!
