A good read, and definitely 4 stars if it turns out to be memorable. It took me a little while to get comfortable with the writing, which flipped on mA good read, and definitely 4 stars if it turns out to be memorable. It took me a little while to get comfortable with the writing, which flipped on my editor switch � and one specific example of that arises in Victoria Christopher Murray’s author’s note at the end! But the characters, the story, and the knowledge that a true story lay behind the book quickly overcame that minor distraction. Plus, a personal love, illuminated manuscripts. So something of a treat.
I do recommend reading both authors� notes at the end. They rounded out the book very satisfactorily for me....more
