isa has been obsessed with luca since she was a kid and in this book was arranged married to him after her granddad - the don was dying
isabella's whole thing is getting luca to fall for her which is fair enough but i hated the wat she went about it, it gave sexual manipulation and threatening that she'd find things elsewhere in like the 2nd week of them being together....didn't like that
luca KEPT mentioning in the first half about isabella being an adelesont and it was just so icky. and about how he knew her as a kid like ew it was gross. wouldn't have cared if they'd MET at the ages they are now (age gape in books is fin, sue me) but the fact they met when she was SIX and he was TWENTY ONE....no.
THEN THERE WAS THE AMNESIA TROPE WHICH I NORMALLY HATE but this elevated the plot for me and de it interesting! like isabella teaching luca the inner workings of the mafia and him catching on quickly and all that was tense and exciting !!...more

so bianca is from the italian family and her father (absolute prick) forces her to marry into the bratva to spy. she says fuck that and only marries to save her sister from the same fate. nuance was a prima(?) ballerina and is also mute from an accident. she quit ballet at the start of the book and it's said she had another accident but it NEVER goes into detail (would have been interesting to explore)
mikhail has admired bianca from afar by going to all her ballet shows and when the opportunity to marry her comes along he takes it as he finds her intriguing and beautiful. he's super big and scary looking to others and also has issues with touch. also has a young daughter
when they move in together mikhail is so respectful and lets bianca do her thing and she naturally grows close with him and his child. he protects and looks after her quietly including putting her dad in his place. bianca is never scared of him and finds him beautiful which he isn't used to. they were genuinely so lovely together ...more
