I honestly won't go in depth in this review because there's not really much to say. I was very excited for this book, I had not seen anything0.75!
I honestly won't go in depth in this review because there's not really much to say. I was very excited for this book, I had not seen anything about this book, I had just heard about the author so I was excited to read one of her arcs, My main problem with this book was how I could not connect with the characters and when I don't feel any sort of connection with them, I just end up disliking the book and to be honest the only reason I did not dnf this book was because it was an ARC otherwise it would've been a dnf 20% through, I wish I could write something good about this book but it's one of those rare instances where I just have nothing good to say, It's definitely among the bottom 5 reads of this year. I also didn't enjoy the writing style of this book and usually when a book has weak characters, the writing style is what keeps me going but that wasn't the case here and honestly when these two things do not work I rely to the plot but where was the plot here? so I had nothing to rely on like I need a book to have one good think because honestly I can read a book if it has literally no plot as long as the writing is good or a book with a strong plot and bumpy writing or a book that solely relies on its characters to save it but when a book has none it's really bound to end up here.
Overall, not the best book and I wouldn't recommend __ "A story of sisters separated by hundreds of years but bound together in more ways than they can imagine." add magical realism into this as well ...more

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be; Messy.
I had already known that this book wasn't everyone's favourite and I thought that maybe mine and Hoda's experience with Claire and Gibsie would be different but it's safe to say that wasn't the case. The writing itself was very repetitive and redundant, it was the same thing going on and on, same snarks and jab being thrown around, same. miscommunication enveloping the plot of the entire book and the same filler content being thrown at us for a couple who don't have a duet. The writing was bad in this one, I enjoyed the book to an extent- Hence, the two stars. But, the writing just deteriorated here and maybe I felt it because the last book that I read by her was redeeming 6 and that was honestly her best but this was so meh. It didn't feel like Claire and Gibsie's book and that made me more mad.
Claire Biggs, I hate her so much like honestly this was the most shocking outcome of this book because the things that she did in this book made her too far gone for me to defend her. Let's start with how shallow she was like where was her entire development?? where was her personality?? her whole personality was gibsie, thinking about him, loving him, overthinking about him and how much of a bitch Lizzie is that was literally her entire personality, take gibsie out she would be nothing. Also Lizzie cant be defended either but at least she a personality and I know she's a bitch but Claire was such a bad friend like she ALWAYS chose GIbsie she never once even considered what Lizzie said and thought of her and honestly that whole party scene with Mark when Lizzie is scared and traumatized this bitch goes after Gibsie who's literally alright?? also what she did with gibsie at the makes me so mad at her, I cant with her. Gibsie, the way I wanted to love him but honestly his arc was wasted, most of the scenes were stripped away his trauma was being constantly dumped on us without any development and then all that trauma would be stripped away and would be replaced with a shocking plot twist which literally happened at the last 100 pages and didn't get resolved properly.
ClaireGibs? no romance, their romance felt like a side plot for another book, they barley had any domestic scenes or any communication, or anything other than miscommunication throughout this book so their romance felt very mid also I didn't how it was focused on literally everyone else it was as if we were reading the book about the other characters from their perspective. I'm more excited about Katie and Feely's book than Hughie and Lizzie's but I'll gladly take the drama we get from that over this. It felt like a buildup for the next book and honestly this book and it's characters were wasted.
I liked Shannon, Joey, Aoife and Gibsies scenes with Johnny.
Overall, very messy! __ I have heard mixed reviews for this but honestly I love Claire and Gibs so please, please, please hit!
Claire and Gibsie gave me nothing. I'm more invested in Lizzie's character than her romance with Hughie and Katie deservUpdate after reading Taming 7:
Claire and Gibsie gave me nothing. I'm more invested in Lizzie's character than her romance with Hughie and Katie deserves sooo much better but I'm excited for this book because I'm gonna eat up all the drama ...more

“You have consumed my every waking thought. You have wrecked every dream I’ve had, he cursed against my lips, kissing along my jaw and neck next. “I am obsessed.
Okayyyy, this is going good!! it got better and brothers best friend trope really served here, as usual Kandi's writing was spectacular. Easy to follow and fun to binge. I was in a bit of a slump because of this arc I read but it got me out of it!! I initially was supposed to read the third one as well but I'm gonna skip it and move to the fifth one because it's due on the 20th and I know I wont have enough time this week but I am having a blast with this series! Also, I really like the length of the two books so far, its perfect for a romance.
“I like wrinkles. She said the words as she reached up to remove my glasses, and then her fingers traced my skin around my eyes, my mouth, over my forehead. “They’re proof you’ve laughed, you’ve cared, you’ve hurt. She swallowed, her fingers lingering over the line I knew existed between my brows whether I was frowning or not. “Proof that you’ve lived.
Grace, was such a cutie and I really liked the portrayal of living under your brothers shadow here and I also liked how it was used in the third act conflict (they didn't break up but the brother found out) I liked how care free she was and I loveeed her using her phone as a journal which I was sure was gonna backfire lol (It did) but reading about her character was so fun. Jaxon, He was giving me respectful, shy vibes btu ahaha as soon as that mouth started speaking I knew I was deadass wrong LMAOO. I really liked his minute turmoil on secretly dating his best friends sister and how everything might go down if he found out cuz they were in the same team (hockey) and DaddyP giving him a lecture lmaoo I really enjoyed it.
“If we were about to set fire to the world we lived in now, I would gladly live in the ashes if it meant I got to be with him.
The romance was so hot, I liked their cutesy, domestic moments and I also liked how they blended in with the spicy scenes which are Kandi's specialty but my favourite part was when Vince finds out about them and the fight that Jax and Vince have! everything about that scene showed how much he loved her and understood her and I really begin to root for them. I also like how she starts setting up the next book when the books about to end.
Overall, it was really enjoyable! the only reason why it's not a four is because somewhere in the middle it fell off (could be my slump) but that hindered with my enjoyment. __ Not this having brother best friend aka my favouritee trope ...more
She was a brave and ruthless woman, powerful, terrifyingly lethal, and with a dark and twisted past but she was no monster.
If there's one thi3.75!
She was a brave and ruthless woman, powerful, terrifyingly lethal, and with a dark and twisted past but she was no monster.
If there's one thing that I need in life- it's Greek myth! I love it so much like give me any story, spin it anyway I just know I'll enjoy, it's such a twisted world but the stories in it our very rich and this book cultivated a perfect story. The writing for a debut novel was good. I had a few problems with the pacing which affected my rating but it was overall very enjoyable and refreshing to read. This spin on Medusa was also very invigorating. I always wanted Medusa's redemption arc like I desperately needed it so when I saw this author was writing it I was the most excited for it and for the most part it did deliver. What didn't work for me tho was pacing because that took a lot of my time and the second thing was the plotline being dragged a bit but other than that it was really well done.
Medusa's humanity after everything that she has been through showcased to never judge a book by it's cover. I really liked her humanity and I really liked the way her story unraveled, her trauma was explored well and I really enjoyed reading her scenes with Perseues where how she started with being so mistrusting and then how it transitioned into trust and then friendship ands then love and I also love how her victims were always criminals or rapists and that she didn't kill for "revenge against the gods." Perseus himself was so kind and respectful struggled between killing an innocent and saving her mother but I always love it when the main hero goes against a corrupt god/king it's very fun to read and his perspective itself was very enjoyable.
Perseus and Medusa together were a force to be reckoned with. Both were able to understand it each other and both knew how to deal with each other. This knowledge and understanding slowly formed the bond of love and the whole process of it was really enjoyable to read, It was enemies to lovers but take it a notch down, it was sent to kill her but fell for her done right!! The end part where Medusa screams at Athena for Perseus was my favourite scene of the book. This was the romance I was seeking and I was kept satisfied at the end.
Overall, a really fun experience! __ A medusa redemption arc with female rage?!? SIGN ME UP!! I have been reading this for a while and I've been enjoying it! the art and the reels the author is posting got me extra excited ...more
“I’m compelled by you, you have annihilated whatever version of my life existed before you.
I had fun with this book! It was fun but I was mi3.40!
“I’m compelled by you, you have annihilated whatever version of my life existed before you.
I had fun with this book! It was fun but I was missing the spark that I get from her books, I had fun reading it, it was very fast paced and I was able to get some enjoyment out of the book but theres this specific uniqueness to her way of writing and theres this spark which I didn't feel so I feel that is one of the reasons why I'm not rating it very high but I'm still very excited to see where the next books will take us because the next book is actually very promising.
Our main characters were Maven, A social media manager, I was annoyed by her character at the start but then slowly grew fond of her by the end but I unfortunately didn't form any connection with her to relate to her or fully enjoy her perspective, I enjoyed how snarky she was and her banter with Vince it was really fun to read. Vince, I had the same problem with him as I did with Maven but I enjoyed his flirtatious and possessive nature and it was fun to be in his mind, the ending was very sweet and his gestures were also cute to read but im honestly more excited to read about his sister.
The romance was the saving grace of this book, I feel like it was borderline insta lust but I still liked how it developed into love like usually with insta lust I dont see them falling in love but here I could see that and I mean I did see that cuz the way they were written and how the story progressed they were in love I just wished we got some development because it was bit rushed, as for the spicy scenes there were as usual very well written, if there's one thing that Kandi can do right, it's her spicy scenes.
Overall, a rocky start to this series but it has potential. ___ I got the arc for book 4 and I'm trying to see if I can read three books before march 15th :) no pressure. Also Kandi Steiner supremacy!...more
"Maybe our choices are the catalysts that set the course of events in motion. Maybe our fate isInfinite stars!
This book is my Roman empire.
"Maybe our choices are the catalysts that set the course of events in motion. Maybe our fate isn't so much predetermined as it is influenced by the decisions we make"
Tell me why I loved this book so much?? I was so excited for it!! Like my expectations were through the roof but it still managed to surpass them?? It's literally the bane of my existence. It consumed my soul, it had me hooked so bad!! it did not let me go, honestly, I tried to get up and do my work but I would find myself tucked in my bed with my Ipad because this book was so damn addicting!! AHH stupid me decided to read this on the most busy week of my life, I literally missed my assignments deadline because I was reading this and I had to beg my professor to accept :) (He gave me a lecture but he accepted it(the lecture was as long as the class)) but this was so worth doing that like I actually do not care I would skip my assignment and read it all over again if I had to and I envy all of you so much for being able to read it again for the first time :( I want that again. Buddy reading this with Iqra made this book even more fun, like we were so in sync and we binged it sooo fast. Everything that could go right for a book, fortunately, went right here.
The writing style was simply amazing, it was honestly easy to follow, I kind of predicted some of the plot twist but there were one or two that caught me off guard, the way it's written is so easy to grab your attention like I honestly cant get past 10pm these days but it had me awake till 4 am, simply, because I could not resist. This book is a siren, I'm afraid. This honestly gave me what Fourth Wing couldn't, even though I liked fw's first book this was 10x better, like pull all the good stuff from fourth wing amplify it and all the bottled potential and ace that and you'll get Silver Elite. The academy setting made me it a more enjoyable experience because I just have a soft spot for settings like that. The friendships, the romance, the plot, everything was balanced so well that I honestly had no complaints except for how short this books was (It's 516 pages) It can easily be 1500. Also the sense of nostalgia was so strong with this one because it's written in a way where it took me back to the 2010's dystopian era while remaining unique with it's own idea and I loved that feeling so much!! Like I was craving it so bad. I also feel like the letters and the test results that were at the end of some of the chapters will help people enjoy this book more!!
MY FAVOURITE PART: The Characters;
Wren Darlington, I love her, I love her, I love her, I love her. Okayy, so I always loved her and I didn't feel annoyed at all. I enjoyed her development throughout the book and I really liked how her character shaped up to be but I just felt very connected to her, I was enjoying reading her pov, her inner monologue so much that I wasn't bothered, she was so badass like if you want a strong badass fmc, look no further. She was actually such a diva lmao she had everyone fooled and I loved reading her deceive people. She was so cocky and sarcastic but not too overly quirky, she wasn't weak and got shit done and honestly it's been so long since I've read about an fmc who has had in this extreme of a chokehold like ufffff her badassery was so hott and I love how she never felt insecure, she knew she was good enough and pretended to be bad just for her mission and she atee.
Cross Redden, A MAN, A MAN, A ma-ma-ma-mannn. If you think Wren was amazing, breathtaking, beautiful, hot?? wait till you meet Cross he was so charming like he had this irresistible charm. This bitch wouldn't even do anything at times but the hotness would be radiating off of him and woohooo I was fanning myself. The things he said, he did had me creasing. He knew how to vex Wren and he did it in the best way, his comments on Wren's tests had howling because it was soo funny, we also love a man who's jealous and admits it right int he fmc's face that he is. I knew he was a softie at the core of his heart because the things he did <33 the action scenes didnt help reduce his hotness, they amplified it, the descriptions were so yum. This never happens, the last time I liked both the male and female character to this extent was when I was reading tog and before that was when I read the mindfuck series, so, to see characters who I could love like that felt so refreshing to read.
Side characters, I really enjoyed the cast of side characters that were presented to us. They had the perfect amount of page time, it wasn't too overpowering and it also wasn't underwhelming, we had Kaine, I liked him a lot and I really liked his humor as well, the banter that he brought and the way his character was written and the way his actions foreshadowed the future was really fun to read. Xavier, I actually like him and I did find him cute at times BUT why was he so susss. Lydia, I never trusted and never will trust this raggedy ass bitch. Ivy, she was cool, I wanna see more of her in the next book!! Roe, ahahaha he reminded of that guy I forgot his name but that greasy bitch from throne of glass that we hated so much in kingdom of ash but make him more unhinged, insecure and psychotic, you'll get roe.
The romance, WHERE DO I EVEN START!!!!! It was everything, I was a little hesitant when it started because it was lusty when it started and I was like hmm idk how to feel about it but the development was top notchhh, there were bits of a love triangle but it gets resolved within the book and its not overly influenced on the book and even tho the love triangle made me conflicted I always knew Cross would be the endgame loll like Kaine would do cute stuff and try to steal my heart but Cross would just open his mouth and we all would be Team Cross, it was enemies to lovers to an extent, it had angst, a little bit of slow burn, forced proximity, natural chemistry, the sexual tension was off the charts, and the spicy scenes were soooo hot like she delivered. I have never been thsi passionate over a debut book!! It was so good I wanna cry cuz I know I'll never experience anything like this for such a long timeeeee. I love books like this but i hate the aftermath.
The plot and the worldbuilding were so good, they were given ample of time and it was just overall well balanced, i was so invested in it and I wanted to know what was going to happen next, each chapter left me wanting more. The plot twists were so enjoyable and gave this story an edge I liked learning about the past, there were the last few chapters that fucked with my brain so hard that I wanted to cryyy ugh writing this review is making me wanna reread it already like I Honestly did not know who trust and its set up so good, the letters, the way they act, its all written so well that it makes you question your sanity. The base work of the worldbuilding was there, it wasn't in detail but it was enough for me to be satisfied and not notice its lacking but I would like to see it expand in the next books.
Overall, the best book of the year for me!! definitely read it.
P.S; I highlighted so many quotes but I removed this book from my kindle and they go deleted :( _ Guys I've been trying to read my cr but my minds still stuck on this ...more

“I love you, I have loved you, and I will love you.
I honestly was not expecting it to be this good??? like, I was expecting it to be good, enjoyable but not to this extent because honestly I was so invested in the story, the very idea and the concept of the storyline was so unique and interesting and I truly thing the plot was the aspect of the book that kept me hooked throughout. While I loved the concept, the execution could have been a bit better. The pacing of this book was also very slow. Yeah, yeah, I finished it in 2 days but that's because I pushed through, otherwise the pacing was slow but I found it enjoyable. The writing style was very fun to read. It wasn't like Addie Larue, I would say but it did have a similar vibe which I enjoyed reading and yeah this was heartbreaking!
"I hope you never lose that bottomless love. I hope you hold onto what makes you human.
So basically, Evelyn and Arden are cursed. This shit made me feel so claustrophobic because I felt like I was stuck and I wanted to escape but I couldn't so Arden has to kill Evelyn before the age of 18 and if she dies, he dies and they both get reincarnated in another era, in another life and this cycle keeps on going on and we're pretty much like Evelyn because we're not getting any answers and it was so frustrating to read because I wanted answers so bad!! I liked how it was divided into the present perspective and the past perspectives which took us through the journey of some of the eras they were reincarnated in and tbh the way it was written made it so interesting because it gave us glimpses of their relationship and it kind of took our mind of the questions we had and I liked it.
“The cruelest fate the gods and stars had ever written: the person I loved most in the world was the person that would ultimately destroy me.
Evelyn, Our main character, and uff her story was so frustrating to read because she's the one who's killed in every lifetime by her lover and she's kept with these questions as to why all this is happening and Arden just tells her to trust her and that the outcome of letting her live over 18 would be worse and ahhh I had no idea how she was trusting him because if I was her I would have not but thank god I'm not in fantasy but I felt so bad for her because she was a very loving character and she fell in love with each of her family over the years and she was taken from there and placed into another family and it just hurt to read that. Arden, at first it was very hard to like his character because we didn't really know why he was doing all of the things he was doing but then slowly we learned and it made so much more sense, I loved the dialogues that he dropped, the swoon worthy moments but I also liked how heartbreaking all of this was for him as well. I just don't understand why he didn't tell Evelyn all of this.
"If a hero is someone who will give up love to save the world, then a villain is the reverse. Someone who will give up the world to save love."
The romance, was well written, I really enjoyed reading it, fated mates with slow burn and kind of enemies to lovers and with angst so that was very fun to read, the sad moments blend in here so well and the yearning was one of my favorite parts. I didn't really focus on the romance more because I was way more invested in the plot of the story and the romance as subplot felt good and shaped the story to be better but if romance is supposed to be the main plot than yeah I dont really think it was developed that well for me to be invested in it like that.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable read! ___ I just know that this has a pretty cover and is like The Invisible Life of Addie Larue and honestly say no more ...more

“Because the truth is you've always been mine, and I'll always be yours, and that's just the way it is.
I have only read one book by Kandi Steiner, 'Blind Side' and it was soooo good so obviously I had to read another one of her book and what better book to choose than this?? while this did not get that much of a higher rating from me, you best believe that it was so damn enjoyable! her writing style is so good! it was so captivating and enriching and so damn consuming. I just needed more, I was frustrated with the characters, yes. But I was enjoying the book so muchhh because her writing was so good! it was so fast paced and so easy to good. I read it very fast considering it had long ass chapters but they didn't feel that long because of her writing. I'm also so glad that I read this edition rather than the first one, because the first one, I wouldnt rate that high but I liked reading Jamie's POV and it made me somewhat fond of them. I feel like the saving grace for me was Kandi's writing!! I'm so happy I got an arc for her new book because I want more of her books.
“I should have listened, but if you haven’t learned by now, caution signs didn’t work when it came to Jamie.
B, Out of all the names, this stupid hoe chose this nickname but uff she frustrated me and Hoda soooo much like AHHHHHHH I was screaming 24/7 at her and JAMIE because what the fuck were they doing, she was such a coward at times and I hated her but I also loved her love for Jamie but I hated what she did and how she was self absorbed and selfish like if I could write an essay on how bad they both were, it still won't be enough to capture my hate. Jamie, Him and B are both for the streets honestly and they both deserve each other. This man said "I’m not sorry I kissed you, he clarified. "But i’m sorry I did it when you weren’t mine to kiss. and honestly ok fine I can give you guys one pass but then he went on and fucked her later like?? where did the guilt go? ugh but Jamie's perspective and knowing more about B's bf made me feel a little better. These cheaters had me going in a spiral and I have never been more conflicted everrrr.
“His heart belonged to me, just like mine would always belong to him.
The romance, look if I take the cheating out, it's such a good romance storyline because B and him are such a good couple, the chemistry and angst between them is off the charts and the love that they have is intense and palpable but how they chose to carry out was not good because ummm she cheats twice on the same guy, he cheats on his fiancee BEFORE she did and then it happens again with B and then the ending happened and IF THE ENDING WAS HAPPENING!! why the fuck did they ruin so many peoples lives like UFFF what were you guys thinking, they were so self absorbed and only thought about themselves and honestly the guilt that they felt after that didnt mean shit because what the fuck do you mean by that lmaoo so even in that way they were perfect for each other lmao. The spice in true Kandi Steiner fashion was amazing. Super hot and well written.
“One day, whether you are 14, 28, or 65, you will stumble upon someone who will start a fire in you that cannot die. However, the saddest, most awful truth you will ever come to find—is they are not always with whom we spend our lives.
The fifth anniversary edition honestly was so needed cuz it made me bump the rating up and it made me understand the characters to an extent and honestly it did decrease my frustration with them and honestly made the whole process of reading this book very enjoyable! Also the last chapter of the original book almost had me throwing my knife at the character because of the direction it was going lmaoo I felt gaslit.
Overall, it was such a fun story and I would recommend it unless you can't stand cheating AT ALL!! ___ HODA made me do it ...more

I was waiting for this book for the longest time like I was so desperate for it and because Frankie got a publishing deal it got delayed so I was like very very desperate that I applied for her arc team form and thankfully I got accepted so I got an early access and I am so glad because it fed me, it slowly ended my desperation and gave me life and it may seem like I'm exaggerating but I have come to love this series so much and I am so happy that we have three more books + two novellas more because I can never see this series ending!!! I have grown so attached to this series. It is so underrated and it deserves so much more love than it gets. It has everything. Roman inspired, throne of glass vibes with extremely high stakes and a lush romance storyline and honestly I am obsessed with Frankie's storytelling style, it's so immersive like I actually imagine myself in that world and it's all so vivid that it's hard not to fall in love with it.
“I don’t need to claim you. Nor mark you. It’s not your body that’s mine. It’s your heart, it’s your soul. Just as my heart, body, and soul are yours. In this life, in every life. Forever. Rakame.
Lyr, I missed her so much and I love how much her character has developed and how much she has been through and how it shaped her, she was such a strong character and it was so good to read her point of view, I honestly missed it so much!! Like, I was craving for it so bad! but I loved reading about her, the way she sacrifices so much for her sisters and how in this series the sisters are also grateful and acknowledge that will forever be my favorite part. The sisterly bond was such a monumental part. Rhyan, It's so hard not to love Rhyan's character because he written in depth, there so much work done around his character, the novellas dedicated to him do his character such justice which automatically makes it so easier to like his character, him reassuring that Lyr was with her by saying 'Partner' was so sweet, him reuniting with his friends was also so fun to read and these moments in this series are what I live for!! Meera, She has so much potential and I feel like she will play a major plot point. Morgana and Aemon, I didnt connect to their story nor did I care for it mainly because I was confused when it came to them.. Daario and Aiden, These two new characters were really fun to read!! Tristan, I love the redemption arc.
"Take me. Take me for all I am. You want to claim me? Mark me? Do it. Scratch me, scar me. I don't care. Your touch is the only one I've ever wanted. The only one I've ever needed. And I'll take it in any way I can."
The romance was amazing!! it's honestly so well done because the way they care for each and how it's shown throughout the series just makes a way into your heart. They have been through so much and seeing them love each other but be forced apart hurts so much and I need them to focus on it so bad, for them to be happy and at peace but I now Frankie would not do that because they went through so much in this one:( Lyrianna and Rhyan were perfect. Morganna and Aemon, didnt really grab my attention and I couldn't care for their chapters. Meera and Daario?? am I seeing a potential something??
"The only thing that has ever moved you, The only thing that has ever unleashed an ounce of submission, or duty, or intelligence into your godsdamned mind is the idea of her in danger."
The plot and the worldbuilding, was so stellar!! I love where the plot was going but in this book I felt like it had filler content and that's one of the reasons why it's not a five because it was long and with filler but her writing was enjoyable so I didn't mind it that much, I really love how rich this world is and how much there is still to explore and how we will explore more but it's honestly amazing what she has crafted, it's not only breathtaking but so easy to visualize and when you do visualize it, its enchanting. The ending made me want to cry because what was thatttttt.
Overall, it was amazing and I can't wait for Son and Traitor!! ___ 4 or 5?!? im so conflictedddd but I enjoyed the hell out of this one. __ I forgot to log it in here but I started this a while ago because I got the arc (arc team privileges) but I am absolutely loving this!!! you guys have to read it and I hope that I continue to enjoy it!...more
