This book was better than other F1 romances, but I was left confused by the fake dating trope and HOW that was going to solve their problem? The scheming didn鈥檛 really make sense to me. This was the slowest of slow burns and then it got weird really fast. I did love the world of formula 1, found family, and being a girls girl....more
While I found the content interesting, this was a great example of just because you have something important to say does not make you a good writer.

The writer doesn鈥檛 go back-and-forth from past to present day, but she also doesn鈥檛 follows a linear timeline which made it very hard to follow knowing what time she was speaking about.
Honestly, some of her stories of executives did not surprise me. However her behavior and insisting on staying did. I lost count of how many times she said she stayed so she could make a difference from the inside. I am SHOCKED her marriage survived and even more so that she stayed after she nearly died giving birth to her second child only to be reprimanded for her work during this time- the time she was in a coma. She honestly was complicit in making Facebook what it is today and no amount of 鈥淚 tried to stay to make it better鈥 really matters when she was unable to make positive change yet continued to stay and lead in the wrong direction.

That being said, I originally gave this book 2 stars, but after thinking about it again, I actually lowered it to one star. This was a cute story, but I did not enjoy the writing style. There were far too many side characters and side stories. Some of the dialogue felt like I was watching a terrible Hallmark movie.
Even though it was a unique plot, there were SO many problematic things in this book. Honestly, too many for this review....more

This was not my favorite. Nothing really happened until about halfway through the book. With 鈥淟ove鈥 in the title I expected at least some of that but the MFC 鈥渃onnection鈥 with the MMC is anything but love. She literally says she wants him 鈥渇rom the neck down鈥.
It was quirky and had its comedic moments but I wanted more from both the characters and the plot....more

I loved getting to hear about her life (especially the second half) from an outside perspective.
I was moved to tears many times. Sometimes tears of joy for the work Corrie did and her committed to the Lord, but also sometimes tears of sorrow as I grieved the loss of Corrie (even though she died before I was born)....more

I went into this book completely blind. I figured it wouldn鈥檛 be super happy as the title suggests everyone dies. But with the colorful cartoon cover, I thought it might be more quirky murder mystery.
It鈥檚 not quite a thriller but also not quite a quirky murder mystery. It lies somewhere in between with aspects of both. There were times I鈥檇 laugh and then gasp audibly at the end of the chapter.
This story is reminiscent of 鈥淚 Know What You Did Last Summer鈥 and follows Kirby Cornell and her 鈥淔lat Four鈥 roommates jumping back and forth between 1 year ago (when something bad happened) and present day.
The roommates are well written and Dave is giving Max from 鈥楬appy Endings鈥.

Drive Me Crazy is a story about Chloe Coleman, a newly promoted female principal of a failing F1 team who is suddenly the boss off her childhood crush, Matt Warner, who is traded from a top team to a bottom tier team.
I am a huge F1 fan which maybe made it harder for me to suspend belief that a young woman would ever be principal of an F1 team. There has only been 1 and it鈥檚 largely in part to it being a family team. Other than that F1 is so much an old white dude鈥檚 game.
While the characters were English, it was apparent the writer was not. Even their names were American. I kept getting thrown off because it was written in a very American tone but then there would be some random English phrase.
Their relationship felt rushed. She went from childhood friend to 鈥渓ove鈥 REAL fast. And was it really love or lust? Because it seemed liked all he wanted to do was have sex with her.
This was not it for me. No woman gets to that place in her career then nearly looses it by being SO reckless. This quote scrim the book sums it up for me:
鈥淚 mean, sneaking into Silverstone as team principal of Arden and as a world-famous F1 driver is reckless. But at the same time, it feels like something Matt and I need to do.鈥
Insert eye roll. I just couldn鈥檛 by the end of the book....more

I love when audiobooks are recorded by the author and Big Dumb Eyes did not disappoint. I honestly can鈥檛 imagine reading the book, it seems so much of the humor and story telling would be lost.
Big Dumb Eyes is a compilation of stories of Nate Bargatze鈥檚 life. He approaches his life stories candidly and with humor. His accent and dry delivery made me literally laugh out loud throughout the book. I would be listening around the house and giggling to myself. His stories are hilarious but also really sweet and endearing. He is more than just a funny story, and a few parts made me tear up as well....more

Kate, who was recently divorced when her husband left her for his secretary (cliche she knows!) contacts and old contact in the business. He has recently passed and his son, Charlie has taken over as talent agent at his company.
He finds Kate perfect for being the face of a book written by a famous author, but doesn鈥檛 want their name connected with the book.
They are an unlikely match, but unfortunately for me it doesn鈥檛 seem as if opposites attract. In stead of slow burn, I just didn鈥檛 see much chemistry together.
I鈥檓 also not a huge fan of the main female character being a 鈥渕ess鈥 and the male character saving everything. I think women can be confidently quirky without being a mess. And honestly, Kate was lovely! She was quick on her feet and so smart- but didn鈥檛 seem to be written in a way for the reader to see that. We seemed to be led to her being a disaster which was unfortunate.
The plot is unique and the side characters are written wonderfully, but I did feel let down by the title....more
