3.75 stars. I enjoyed this story of Peter Rashkin, Holocaust survivor & US immigrant. The story is told in 3 parts one in 1960's , part 2 in the 1970'3.75 stars. I enjoyed this story of Peter Rashkin, Holocaust survivor & US immigrant. The story is told in 3 parts one in 1960's , part 2 in the 1970's and part 3 in the 1980's. Parts 1 and 2 evoked a NY of the past that was especially enjoyable and interesting to read about. Part 3 was much weaker and at times seemed tangential to the main story. There were a few anachronisms within the text that should have been caught by an editor, otherwise this would have been a solid 4 star book. Plenty for book groups to discuss here....more
