All's Well is nearly 400 pages.... AND FOR WHAT!?!
I found it to be extremely anticlimactic, and it was trying so hard to be provocative in the most dull way possible. Repetitive as hell and confusing.. was half the content in this book just thrown in at ramdom to fit the "weird girl lit" trope? Lmao. And what was that ending!? ...more

I understand why many people find this to be powerful, and I appreciate the ideas and themes, but it did end abruptly for me, and I was left very confused. After some googling, I think I understand the ending, but it feels unfinished.. at least to me. I wish these themes were explored more. I wanted more time with the character Shaka.
I read this almost 3 weeks ago, and I'm still not really sure how I feel about it.
Ultimately, this is thought-provoking, at times funny and other times unhinged.
Anyway, this is just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt. Read the books YOU want to read and form your own opinions...more

What. A. Wild. Ride.
This book was violent, dark, and cruel but also unforgettable and beautiful.
I literally had no idea where this book was going to take me the entire time. Without giving anything away, the ending was really unexpected for me, but I loved it so much.
I think Bazterrica did a great job at the world building, enough to form ideas but also not too much, leaving room for the reader to make their own interpretations of it.
I wish it was a little longer, I just wanted more about the Sisterhood.

This kind of read like a fever dream of metaphors and magic realism. I kind of liked it, but i was also left feeling pretty confused. After taking some time to sit with my thoughts and reading others' interpretations of the story, all my theories still don't seem to line up, and im just as confused, if not more.
Some actions/characters, etc, seem super bizarre but ultimately end up being pointless, which frustrated me so much. Having key elements feel so aimless, I suppose the more I think about this book, the less I seem to like it, but yet something about it that still makes me like it a little and wants to keep searching for answers. ...more

Genres: translated fiction, psychological fiction - abuse, self-destruction, no plot - all vibes, obsession, power dynamics, ambiguous.
This was a dark & intense story, but it also felt a little too slow to me at times. It follows the main characters mental and physical abuse while she is training to be a professional swimmer.
This kind of gave me slight Chlorine × I'm A Fan vibes.
Be prepared for a raw, emotional, and difficult to stomach story. But overall, its all vibes & no plot, and the ending was way too underwhelming/ambiguous for my liking.
I liked it enough, but this won't be a lasting impression of a read for me.

Oof. This book was so dark, bleak, and visceral. I feel like this was bordering on extreme horror, so check the content warnings ⚠️ there's alot of gore and violence.
There were a few times when I had to put my Kindle down and just process the horrifying and brutal things taking place. This read is not for the faint of heart.
I feel like this book will haunt me forever.

Although I found myself laughing at times because it had some really great dark humour, this story contains some really graphic violence (check the content warnings.)

There was a lot going on in this book, and none of it was fully fleshed out and explored. I wanted more on the creepy dolls. It was an interesting concept, but it didn't really deliver all that much.
The same goes for the cult, I wanted more on the Mother Collective. The cult was very surface level, and I think the book would have been significantly better if it leaned more into the cult and what the cult represented in both of the time lines.
The pacing was weird, and I hated how naive and oblivious Maeve was written. It was almost insulting, lol.
I think there was a lot of focus spent on the love interest/sexual scenes, probably more than the actual plot of the book. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that in books. I just wish the same effort was made into the plot and the exploration of the cult LMAO.

OMMMGGG I hated James lmao.
I thought this was a really unique take on a haunted house story, and I wish this part of the book was explored more.
I love a good slow burn but I fould the first half (maybe more) of the book to be even too slow for my liking lol, there were many instances where things felt too repetitive and could have been left out and let the story progress faster.
I loved the ending.
I do want to point out that the writing itself was fantastic, I am looking forward to reading more from Gailey.

I ugly cried more than once. It was beautifully written and made me cycle through all my emotions. This will definitely be in my top reads of 2025 at the end of the year. The narrator was incredible and captured the deadpan, sad, funny tone throughout the book, but it will definitely be buying a paperback for my shelf because I want to reread it asap and annotate the crap out of it. This is a must-read, in my opinion.

The audiobook was fantastic. I definitely recommend listening. It's a mostly vibes type of book with an ambiguous ending, which I think really works in this case.
Sophie captures the desire, obsession, cruelty, and the strange daily life of the characters perfectly. I loved the melancholic atmosphere. It read like a fever dream/fevered confession, and that's my kinda jam!!

I really enjoyed it. The story explores the darker sides of human nature and the complexities of social media and interpersonal relationships. I never really deeply thought about moderators and what impact it could have on someone's mental health and relationships.
This book made me think how I myself have become desensitized in some ways and the toll some social media posts have taken on my mental health over the course of the last few years.
