The emotional core of A Trial of Bronze and Blood* i built around its protagonists, and wow, do they deliver. They’re complex, bruised, and stubborn as hell—and watching their bond deepen under pressure was honestly one of the most satisfying parts of the book.
The romance was slow-burn perfection. It wasn’t just thrown in for tension—it earned every moment. You feel the weight of shared trauma, the trust built through fire and blood, and that quiet yearning under all the grit. There’s something so raw and tender in the way the relationship grows amidst chaos. I didn’t even realize how invested I was until I was holding my breath during a single glance or line of dialogue.
What really struck me is how both leads are allowed to be powerful and vulnerable, messy and brave. Their dynamic isn’t about fixing each other—it’s about recognizing strength in one another and still choosing closeness, even when the world around them is burning.

This was absolutely amazing. If I had read this series at the end of last year, would have been easily in my Top three of the year. It was soo good!
The store is action packed, the smut is one of the best I've ever read, the characters are so morally grey... That's what I actually love most. None of them is portrayed as perfect. They show so much growth but they are also so flawed. They're mature, they had a story before this story happened and I appreciated this so much, that makes them so much more real.
Aelia is rising to the top three of my favourite FMC's of all time. I want more! This can not be read as a standalone and while I usually say the second book in a series is usually weaker than the first, nope, here it only gets better!
We have elves, sylphs, mer, halfbreeds, witches, wraith, the whole package without getting overbearing . The world building is complex but easy enough to grip and not get lost in (huge bonus points for that). We have a kind of love triangle, plenty of action, very morally grey characters.... This was perfection!
"A Prophecy Foretold. A Love Torn Apart. An Ancient Magic Revealed. With her sister safely freed from the evil king Gideon’s clutches and his kingdom in ruins, Aelia can finally begin to heal from her traumatic past and focus on her budding relationship with Tharan.
