The relatI have to be honest, this is the first time I have ever read an M. Robinson book and found myself on edge…worried I wasn’t going to like it! The relationship of sorts between a MC born leader and a small town girl was cautiously uncomfortable for me and it took a while for me to come to grips with the tale that ensued…and one that would have one hell of a cliffhanger.
Creed Jensen is bad. Born into pure chaos, he has never known another way other than living outside the law. A true one-percenter, he exists under the firm hand of his father and there is little adoration…more reverence and perhaps fear. His life is not pretty, yet behind the tattoos and the tough façade, he has a true heart of gold. Creed is the bad boy that all need to stay away from, yet he is irresistible to all that know him…including an 8 year old little girl in pink with pig-tails.
Mia Ryder…never read a character like her. Full of sass and fierce independence. At a time when she should be playing with dolls and wishing for ponies, she is owning the waves of the ocean and wishing for freedom. Wise beyond her years, she too finds the dark, MC riding, cut wearing Creed Jensen irresistible.
So in a tale where one man is trying to find some purpose to his way of life and a little girl is trying to grow up too fast, dual POVs develop one hell of an angst ridden story. Half of this story is MC perfection with rough, raw and gritty scenes. The Devil’s Rejects are the epitome of badass with Creed Jensen never apologizing for blood shed. The other half is a traditional coming of age story of the good girl who wants too much too soon. A girl suffocating under the heavy law of her father and brothers. IT is not a surprise that these two souls10 years apart find a connection…a bit of sunshine in the dark…a bit of chaos in the structure.
What a hell of a ride! There is nothing wrong with Creed Jensen. From top to bottom he is bad to the bone and he is perfectly imperfect. His story gutted me and while I was devastated time after time for him…I struggled to like him. Throw in the building relationship between he and a growing up little girl…and I was literally on edge. If you are not afraid of the dark…if you are willing to see the beauty in the darkness…Road to Nowhere is perfect. Just be prepared to be left on edge and a bit gutted

Funny that it was those words…a warning, that had me pre-ordering and one-clicking L.J. Shen’s new book. I really found something special the first time I read her work and with each book she releases, it just gets better and better. This is an author who has no problem bringing her damaged characters forefront and making your fall for them no matter how corrupt, immoral, or insane they may seem. Here, Nate Vela and Prescott Burlington-Smyth will have you thinking hours after the last words read.
“This is the story of a boy and a girl fighting storms and trying to find peace in the most unexpected place. They try and find it in each other.
I had no idea where this story was headed. To be honest, I re-read the first 10 pages twice as I kept thinking I missed something. This story starts in a flurry of darkness and progresses further down with each scene. Prescott/Pea/Country Club is in trouble. She is caught up in the wrath of a powerful criminal Godfrey. She was wooed by wealth and maturity only to be stripped of everything and left “hostage of mind and free-will. Her only reason to continue to breath is her focus on revenge and seeking out her lost sibling.
Nate/Beat is a hired hand. He finds himself in debt to the powerful Godfrey as well, but he is no push-over. He follows the orders of his boss and does his best to stick to the script, but with a smart and beautiful Prescott pushing him daily only time will tell who is really playing who!
In dual POV’s, the author drops a dark romance that is so much more than just a typical “captive type read. While Prescott is a hostage, her connection to Nate is a flurry of confusion. She is no passive character. There is a game of wills and much mind bending, but in the heart of the game the stakes are raised as emotions develop to complicate the plot. What a great job Shen did with maintaining the “game-play and the twists to keep the read edgy, raw, and quite gritty.
“Broken people do things better; we learned how to make it in life without the missing parts other people have. Because when you’re in the dark, you appreciate everything that shines.
If you are looking for a crazy ride with two characters, that I can’t really say have been redeemed, then buckle up and hold on. This is a story of a man from nothing and a girl from everything, but both are empty. Living on borrowed time, how can either find purpose or true happiness? Perhaps it is in the eyes of the monster staring back at them. Nate and Prescott make murder seem necessary and just. Together they make rough intimacy seem healing and proper. In the end they make a bloody war the only way to find peace. They are the perfect storm of destruction and at the same they represent the clearing sky with the promise of new. No matter how dark or delish, I enjoyed every crazy, twisted scene that L.J. Shen created!!

I have no idea what it is about the writing of Kelli Jean, but it so unique that it just pulls me in and makes reality fall away. This series, this book in particular is dangerously dark, a bit macabre, yet light at the same time. I know that seems impossible but this is what Kelli Jean does. She creates a story with dire circumstances that are dangerous and gory and she adds extraordinary characters who bring wit, humor and a beautiful human element to the terror.
Book 2 in the Ten Thousand stories starts at the end of Ten Thousand Words. For those who have had the pleasure of meeting Xanthe and Oliver Fairfax, then you are aware of their epic love but to truly make it, Ollie must learn what it means to be in the family. So with the inclusion of Ollie into Xanthe’s life it is time to go back years before to a lifetime of darkness, to those many actions shrouded in mystery. This is where it starts to develop the connections of strangers whose lives will be forever connected. Finally we get the real story, and it is FABULOUS!
While book one held one of my favorite fast and fierce love stories, I found myself so much more in love with the story of Rikki and Jaime. Ten Thousand Lies is about Rikki Conklin, and he is not who he seems. This big, burly, beautiful soul may be able to kill a man with his bare hands but to find the strength to reach out to the one woman he yearns for…he is terrified. He is a man of pure heart and soul and his involvement in the harsh underworld justice system for human trafficking has left him solitary. He has close friends that are true family, and even with the loss and brutality he has known, his heart remains good.
Jaime is the one person who Rikki feels the pull with. Perhaps she is a safe bet housed in another country. Their relationship is built solely on weekly chats over the years. They have unique bond. With Jaime longing for a true family and Rikki able to be a part of it seems as if they are a sure thing. Both are wanting and deserving of a beautiful life, but at what cost? Can Rikki let go of the past and hold onto Jaime for a future? Will Jaime finally fight for more than just the quick pleasure she has ever known? Perhaps the mysterious dangerous life of Rikki is too much for Jaime to understand or too much for her to survive!
Another amazing story by this author! She continues to develop the best ensemble cast that are quirky, sexy and mostly fun. There isn’t one character to find fault with. I believe I fell even more in love with Xanthe and her bad ass ways! Ollie is in for some kind of future. Ronan…Lilla…Rex…no one better to have your back. Aunt Ellen is beyond amazing with her blunt “say it like it is tone and constant weed provisions. Rikki and Jaime, the perfect couple with the best love journey! What an amazing feat it is for Jaime to school her big “bad guy in all things pleasure. Ah, the best for last…DEO…I cannot wait for this man’s story! I know Kelli Jean is going to bring the epic level to the highest degree!

Each book has increased in angst and drama. Each book has escalated the emotions. Each story has had its own impact on the readers through the characters met along the way. Never has the road to happiness been harder or darker than Austin's as his story is double the pain with the introduction of Briggs (Daisy).
They say in order to find yourself you have to go home. What if home was what you're running from? Where did that leave you?
Two character from opposite ends of the states with contrasting upbringings somehow living similar lives. Austin is a part of a close circle of friends and family, yet he longs for more...to be something or someone that no one, not even himself understands. Briggs has lost everything and while provided for, she lives in isolation. She too has no idea who she is. Both characters just do not fit in and they are so empty.
Fate? Maybe even something more cruel brings two people together in a moment that changes everything. With eyes locked, they find everything...only to be set up together on path to lose it all. While Austin was looking for a purpose, a reason to fit in, Briggs was longing for someone to see inside her and fill the void known as her life.
I saw something familiar in her eyes, something I had always seen in mine, reflecting back at me. PAIN. A raw and dark painful ache, exactly like the pain I have been carrying around my whole life.
Never has a story been so deeply distraught...have two characters deserved so much more than what they had been given and what they had taken. I will not even attempt to summarize this story. I feel as if this is a book that NEEDS to be read. For anyone living with inner demons, past or present, those lacking self worth...searching for a fix...CRAVE ME may be a painful trigger. M. Robinson delivers a stunning story of love and loss. Addiction has so many faces, even worn by the most genuinely beautiful people. At the heart of this story was such an unyielding devotion and love but the despair that came with the next high was equally as strong. Never have the words "I'm sorry" been so incredibly sad to read. This dual POV story was epic for me...it was beyond heart-wrenching and it was profound.
So while this story is not pretty, for me it was one of the most tragically beautiful stories I have read to date. Austin will break you a hundred times over and you will still beg for his touch...just like the girl with the tattoos and the purple hair. This Good Ol' Boy deserved a HEA, but it is only in the pages of Crave Me that a reader will come to find if he reaches for it...to find out if Briggs really is his light in darkness...or if their love truly is toxic!...more

With Ten Thousand Truths, I am back into Kelli Jean’s macabre world of love, lust, family, and justice. Now, the long awaited story of Deo Dahl.
Always a large presence, but still so unknown, Deo has found a bit of happiness as we have come to know him as Xanthe’s distraction and best friend. While he loved hard he never quiet was in love and struggled with feeling as if he was enough. Perhaps a second chance meeting of another broken soul could drive his purpose.
Odessa “Opie Powys has lived and died. She exists in a realm of protection and lies. Haunted by the nightmares of her horrific past she yearns to be seen and touched…to be desired…to be alive. Two souls fragmented find a connection and begin to put the pieces of their minds and hearts back together. Deo’s strong physical presence keeps Opie in the light and her truth and pure adoration of Deo makes him once again believe that he could be worthy.
Ten Thousand Truths, book 3 in the series, is the harshest to date but I believe it is this author’s most amazing work yet. Kelli Jean has no fear when it comes to putting her characters at the forefront of danger and tragedy. She gives the harshest of challenges and then creates the strongest of relationships thru their journeys. Deo and Opie’s time together is palpably emotional. There is so much pure lust and the connection of their souls is so beautiful that it make a reader stop…take a breath. Just when life is to be truly lived…the past has a way of coming back and this time, Deo could be the one lost to the darkness.
As a reader I admit that Kelli Jean devastated me. I was crushed and I was so angry. I could not grasp the darkness that engulfed this couple. The writing was so raw and gritty and the story devastatingly tragic yet appreciated. At the end of the tale, this is an author that brings the concepts of survival and healing to an all new level. Here a reader can feel pain only so that the pleasure of another day can truly be appreciated.

Whoa...this was a doozie! Maybe it was too much to read all 3 of these at one time because as much as I Loved the first 40% I started checking out a bit after that. So, Cheers for sucking me in with the dirty time and shameless words of hot filth. Yay for awesome friends and a crazy story chalk full of twists and turns.
No cheers for all the emotional counseling, the constant panic attack moments, and the over the top live or die drama. Also...sex to communicate started getting a bit repetitive. This is one of those reads that I am probably going to be in the minority because I liked it...I just didn't love it. After the emotionally dark ride that Raze/Luka took me on, I was ready for more. I don't want to give away the story, but my main issue was that everything was a bit too easy. From finding a missing man, to his "rescue," to his "healing"...it was all fairly smooth. I wanted more struggle physically and emotionally as it was a long 20 year captivity right?
I will say that Luka and Kisa continue to own this series. I am grateful for more of them. While this was Talia's book to get her forever, it was Kisa and Luka who still radiate forever love, who still struggle and who still make my heart thump!!! ...more

This is a t3.5 Captive Stars!
I started this book late one evening and I could not stop myself...the prologue alone was enough to keep me up for hours!
This is a true love story. Ugly from the get go, but still a love at that. Lily and her baby sister Sasha are on a trip of a life time. With deceased parents, they have only one another. It is their time to mourn and to move on together...one adventure at a time. What should be miles of fun and new experiences turns horrific when the sisters find themselves bound, gagged and in the midst of human trafficking.
Lily and Sasha enter a nightmare of abuse, degradation, and pure evil. Lily's protective and sassy attitude cannot be contained as she fights for her sister's well-being. This does not bode well as Lily becomes part of "the collection" and is separated from her only family. Sasha is thrown into "slave" mode. Lily is moved into protection under the watchful eye of a dark, broody, and somewhat sexy Jake.
On one hand, this tale is somewhat predictable in that the connection between Jake and Lily is inevitable. I was completely surprised when the tale kept to it's script. Lily's time in captivity was not easy. Sasha's was worse. Jake was an enigma of kind meanness...if that even makes sense, but then again, things and people are not always what or who they seem!
While I enjoyed this read, I do have a few gripes! I was a bit peeved at the big "OMG" moment of truth...I was even more peeved at the outcome of the sisters! While I had a gut feeling what was coming, I just felt it could have been prevented. Jake...you angered me! I could not get over your lack of ability to communicate! Also, talk about a 180 of demeanor! Wow. As for Lily...for a woman who was always breaking when no one was looking, she handled her entire situation a quite well! Perhaps she was completely NUMB to reality!
I am completely intrigued in this story and I cannot wait to see what happens with Emily and Kayne!

No, neither did I girl! I take back my anger and my confusion. I take back my shade I was tossing to TM Frazier, not that she cares, but DAMN, this book was FABULOUS!

"there is no space too dark or too vast or too irredeemable that can’t be filled with love.
Those words seem to be at the heart of the whol"there is no space too dark or too vast or too irredeemable that can’t be filled with love.
Those words seem to be at the heart of the whole tale. My first read by Leylah Attar started strong. I fell for the amazing and talented writing of this author. I was so caught up in the edgy suspense of a kidnapping that I was racing through page after page, however as the story progressed I found myself on a slow down...or perhaps a even a bit of a let down.
The story, is not too out of the ordinary, even a bit predictable. Sky Sedgewick, rich and beautiful, is kidnapped and thrown into an unknown darkness. Her days seem numbered as she is owned by a dark, brooding Damian. From worlds apart...yet so connected in every way. Love and lust...or just need to survive? Doesn't seem to matter as there is only one thing that rules the read...REVENGE!
And here lies my issues! I found myself wrapped up in the worlds and minds of Skye and Damian. I was so wrapped up in the why and the how the whole tale even came to. The emotions were so palpable...sexual tension was thick, need and want was stifling, right and wrong were fighting. I love angst and conflict and I know it must be hard to sustain, but I felt at the height of the book everything just unraveled like a once complicated "paper swan."
The 1st half of the book was amazing, but the 2nd half seemed to lose its luster. It was very systematic and sequential and a bit too fast! The passion was guarded. The Love was expected. The future already established. After all the drama...I wanted more fight...I wanted tear-soaked confessions...I wanted more soul-shattering sex!
I also thought that perhaps the jumping from past to present with the alternating hero and heroine's tales made that intensity waver. Overall, I am not saying this was all negative. I liked the read, obviously as I couldn't put it down. I just didn't Love it as much as I wanted!

Escalation is book 2 in Tessa Teevan's Clandestine Affairs Series. It picks up directly at the point of a breath-holding cliffhanger. This book is a true "escalation" of the story. Teevan brings more mystery to the life of Gabriella Lantham...more suspense to Adrian Morningstar's actions...more emotional heat to Rafe Matthews's mission.
To go into detail would truly ruin the ride for any reader. To focus on the who and the what would be impossible at this point. While pieces of a complex puzzle fall into play, the big picture still remains unseen. The only certainty is the fast and intense relationship of Brie and Rafe...
Or is it?
Still so much remains untold. Passion and pleasure rule this read as Brie and Rafe struggle to come to grips with her past as well as her threatened future. The author delivered more intensity and emotions as the search for answers ignited a deep need for one another. In this dangerous setting Brie has finally realized a love worth fighting for and Rafe has vowed to keep her at all costs.
But who is the actual danger? Can passion and love be real/true when nothing is as it seems? Oh, Tessa Teevan...you have warped my mind again! Nothing better than a good, and hot, mindf***! As the mystery and the story had me thinking and constantly drawing conclusions...I stayed on the edge...not trusting. Just when I thought I could breath and take this journey with Rafe and Brie...just when I was all in...BAM...you have left me stunned...AGAIN!

This book is hard to summarize as the mystique, the suspense, and the drama is all wrapped up in the telling of the tale, so attempts to explain would just ruin the experience for any reader. This is the story of a young girl whose life has never been her own. As the offspring of bad company, the captive of secret assassins, the pawn in a game of revenge...Sydney has no idea who she is. She is a cowgirl running a local bar on the verge of starting a new life. She is a sad woman raised to survive by a cold hearted assassin, Garrett, whose affection was chilling. That beI think that Aurora Rose Reynolds can write some seriously fabulous heat! Wowza her men get sexier with each book...Kai is def one of the best!
That being said, this book is a bit difficult to review for me. This is one of those reads that starts by hooking you in the prologue then it kinda goes a bit awry. As I started reading this story of Kai, Hawaiian God and powerhouse and Myla, beautifully damaged straggler of sorts, I was a bit confused. In a quick recap, Kai and Myla are life long friends. Both come from "mafia" type lifestyles. Some tragedy, kinda unknown as to why, forces Myla into a new family as an orphan. She has a new life, away from Kai. Obviously life happens and not the best of circumstances... but the book opens and She is all grown up and married to Kai...HUH?
Yep...Kinda confused as the why and how, but it sets up a big "i want you" but "i shouldn't have you" kinda heat. Back and forth attraction...the marriage is fake...but the feelings are real. It is all a bit choppy. I really kinda felt like I was Myla in this book! She was in the dark ALOT and so was I!
So, while I Loved the heat and I loved Myla and Kai...I honestly have to say, I kinda just didn't follow along too well. I absolutely loved book 1 in this series and I kinda feel like this book started in the middle of a story. I don't know how Myla got to Kai, when they got married or who the hell was after her, but hey...it was HOT!...more

The Barsanti's and the Galante's. Two of the five strong Italian families deep in the business. This book starts with a BOOM and establishes a rivalry for the ages.
Both families have their pride. Both families have their precious. Genevieve "Genna" Galante is the ice princess of the Galante's. Not in the know of the family business, she is basically under lock and key yet has no real purpose in her 18 years old self. She is the typical rich, bored girl needing some fun and attention. The Barsanti's have Matteo, the oldest and the rightful heir to it all. He is smart and he is biding his time before he can just fade away. He too isn't interested in the business but is suffocated by familial obligation.
Sounds like the perfect match right?

Strangers who meet and "click." Strangers who are immediately attracted to one another. Strangers who find insta-love in an elevator, then smoking hot sex at "The Place," lol!
"We spent an hour together this morning trapped in a box with no way out. And you know what I realized that hour?" "What?" "I kind of liked a world where it was just you and me
Well, we know this is a problem right? A Barsanti and a Galante? NO WAY IN HELL! With each family primed to kill the other this will never work. There is no happy ending in sight for Genna and Matty. Will family obligation and unwritten respect keep true love apart? How much blood will be shed berfore the feud is over? This is the biggest rivalry in NYC...LOVE has NO place here!
Overall, fairly predictable. I wasn't looking for a fun family handshake and welcome to the family kinda reunion, but I was hoping for a bit more strife. I mean Primo and Roberto are in the BUSINESS, they know all right? They don't know their kids are fornicating like rabbits? How are mortal family enemies hanging in each other's turfs and not shooting up joints? Also, I mean hot smoking sex equals forever love? No way, not after being told your whole life that they are the enemy. At least Genna was skeptical....Matty, too clean and too normal! Also, the ending...WTF? ummm, where did everyone go? What the hell is going to happen now?
I suppose I will catch up with this again in hopes to get some answers!

With a hard life spent fighting his way to the top of the street crime world he is just a good man at heart that wants better but knows nothing else.
Tasked to work with the NYPD when an undercover beauty goes rogue he is unprepared for the changes he is about to experience. He is rocked by a sassy yet sweet catholic girl who has landed herself in the middle of a deadly game.
Sera is looking to avenge her cop brother's death but her attempts to get close to his killer has her captive in a world of crime. When she comes face to face with the notorious Bowen she has immediate interest that is half fear half desire. Good thing for her he seems to feel the same way!
So quite predictable in the good girl vs bad boy kinda way. But let me say...there would be no better way to be corrupted than by Bowen! Wowza! This read is Tessa Bailey hot. It is chalk full of passionate please, dirty pushy intimacy and full throttle alpha appeal. My only gripe would be the naive Sera! This undercover cop...well she had some learning to do! Quite soft and unbelievable to be the law. Smart? yes...but just did not feel like the right fit for a cop...well at least not til the end!
Overall though...I'm a fan! I know exactly what I'll get with this author. I like her heat. I like the push pull of the contrasting characters. I especially like the sense of urgency and danger with this new series! I for one and really looking forward to Connor' s tale !...more

I wont go into details and rip anything because that isn't how I roll...I just didn't, well couldn't get over all the little things (icky things) that bothered me. I wanted to fall into a steamy taboo romance, but I was just kinda bothered by way too much.
Many will LOVE this and I encourage all to give it a go. But, me? I just need some fluff in my life right now!...more
Well, Tillie Cole is killing it lately! She rocked my 2014 and now she has started my 2015 off with a pretty high standard to hold futu5 Razing Stars!
Well, Tillie Cole is killing it lately! She rocked my 2014 and now she has started my 2015 off with a pretty high standard to hold future reads to!
I will start by saying my review will do NO justice for the greatness of this read. I will also caution that this book is DARK, RAW, GRITTY, and downright BRUTAL, yet in the grand scheme of things, it is heartbreakingly beautiful!
The book is all about one boy and one girl..."that were always meant to be together...two hearts split in two, sent to far off lands on their own...would they find their way back to love?"

Life in the Russian Mafiya is not pretty. For Kisa, she knows heartbreak since loss of her true love as a teen has put her in the arranged arms of a pure Killer, Alik. She is the mafiya princess to the future Heir. Set in the backdrop of brutal cage fighting and gambling, business is good...but life is not pretty. Kisa's life is not her own and she longs for freedom all while bowing down to her familial obligation.

One night in the midst of violence, a stranger with "brown eyes...rich chocolate-brown eyes, the left iris smudge with a flash of blue" appeared for Kisa and her whole world stopped.

Who is this man? Simply 818 or RAZE is a killing machine.

No past, no present...only the current moment motivated by pure hatred and REVENGE! His mission to find the one who wronged him puts him into Kisa's world and opens his mind to a myriad of life images and emotions.
RAZE... "He could be described as hansome. Rough, raw, dark, dangerous, intimidating...the opposite of handsome." Kisa wants him. Kisa needs him. Kisa has found HIM!

"Overwhelming lust, this consuming level of instant attraction...this raw ands insatioable need to be with a man. It was dangerous. It was haunting. It was forbidden. And although it was wrong, it felt perfectly right."

Raze must fight for his freedom. He must fight to take what has always been rightfully his. He must remember the time before 818 was born. He must not lose...his life and Kisa's future depend on it.
In a phenomenal story of betrayal, brutality, and deep soul reaching love, Tillie Cole has written dark romance flawlessly. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't pleasant, but it was amazing!
