I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one. Everly and Hux were soooo amazing and their banter screams -- I loved it. I love that it went from being friends with benefits to married. The only thing I wish would've happened is that Everly made Hux grovel far more than he did. Then again, the man that he is I doubt I would've last as long as she did.

This was a great read and kept me entertained and hooked. I loved the suspense aspect of it all. The only issue I had was the insta-love/insta-lust aspect of it. It's my least favorite trope and is the reason why this did not get a high rating from me. I also felt like it was a bit too rushed. I know going into Devney Perry's books its going to be fast-paced (which I have a love/hate relationship with dont mind me) but for somme reason this one felt like it was too rushed.
However, I do love the banter between all the characters and the spice was spicy...more

AI took my time getting to this book because I just knew that it was going to rip my heart out while simultaneously stitching it back together again. And boy, it did just that.
I saw so much of myself and my insecurities in both Freddy and Ro, I started crying within the first few pages. Ro and Freddy deserve the world and so much more, I love them so much. I love that this was the slowest of slow burns. If they would've gotten together before being friends and growing their friendship, I don't think they would've lasted. (Or maybe they would have, who knows) but i loved their friendship and how they were there for each other and understood each other on a spiritual level.

He wears glasses, loves chemistry and gets so animated and excited when talking about it. he also would do anything for his daughters and his brothers. a man after my heart.
Plus his dirty talk in the bedroom. shouts into the void. good god, I needed to set my kindle down to compose myself. it was so swoon worthy.
And my girl Faye? I love her. she's such a badass and i wish i could be her. I love how she truly gave zero fucks and really loved busting Lincoln's balls. I also loved Faye's relationship with the girls from day one. it was so sweet and heartwarming to see them interacting.

The banter? wonderful, fantastic. The spice? sweats. amazing.
I loved the setting and I'm not sure how accurate the logistics of making whiskey are in this book, but it felt like it was pretty accurate. (I'm sure it is but i don't feel like fact checking) I loved how passionate they were about their whiskey and the familial bond between the brothers. I also loved how flirtatious Laney and Lincoln were solely to piss off his brother. It was wonderful.
This didn't get a four star rating from me simply because, while I did really enjoy the book and I enjoyed the storyline, it just didn't stand out to me. I also couldn't connect to our main characters as much as I wanted to....more

The only reason it didn't get a higher rating was the constant "we can't do this." was becoming too much. We get it, you don't wanna disappoint her dad, who happens to be the coach. But they weren't subtle about anything, so im wasn't surprised when coach was like "duh, I could put two and two together i was just waiting for you to say something"
Other than that, which really feels like a me problem, this book was so good. I loved every second of it. And the found family, once again, had me in a chokehold....more

Was it interesting? yes, I got I wanna say maybe 10-15 chapters in and was intrigued. But, I just couldn't do it with this book. I felt like the characters didn't have much chemistry with each other. And sometimes the characters felt childish.
I wanted to give this book a chance, but I was just not as invested as I wanted to be to continue reading it. I may come back to this, I may not. Only time will tell....more

Was it meant to be funny? probably not, but I thought the banter between Eli and Mendax was so funny. I was really enjoying their enemy-bromance relationship. Caly, per usual was a bit whiny and annoying with her constant back and forth and mixed emotions but truthfully I could look past it.
I'm so glad that the potential love story did not happen, because as much as I loved the idea of Eli and Caly as well as Mendax and Caly, I couldn't stop going back to the fact that Eli and Caly's bond was just platonic soulmates. I'm glad that she made that clear between Caly and Eli, that he loved her and she loved him but they both knew that Caly's love for Mendax was far different. Eli and Caly were soulmates and best friends, and when you find that person it's the best thing in the world. It's irreplaceable.
However, once we got the whole "love triangle" debacle figured out, I just knew which character was going to unfortunately meet their untimely demise. You really need not mess with the fates. They're tricky bitches. I'm so mad that both Eli and Mendax made deals with the fates, and it's like you know damn well they're giving you false hope. I'm lowkey kinda glad that Eli was the one to go give Adrianna the rest of her soul back and he also meets a familiar face when he arrives. I have a feeling he'll be fine.
I'm excited for book 4 and curious to see where the rest of the series takes us....more

Every book in this series has been beyond amazing and has had me frothing at the mouth. Kandi Steiner does not disappoint.
The tension, the banter, the emotions, the longing -- it was all so good, once I picked this up I couldn't set it back down. The slowest of slow burns and it had me in a chokehold. Friends to lovers grew on me after this.
The chemistry between Aleks and Mia was phenomenal. You could feel their pining and how much they wanted each other but didn't dare say anything. There were so many times I yelled at my kindle for them to just kiss. I needed it like I needed my next breath. Their banter and constant teasing was chefs kiss. I love that Aleks shamelessly flirted with her and that Mia gave it right back to him. It almost felt like foreplay, which made it that much more amazing when they finally said "fuck it."
Daddy P. still has my heart, but Aleksander Suter is a close second. The grumpy man on the outside but a total softie on the inside will always be my kryptonite. Reading about Aleks childhood and how he always felt like he never belonged made me choke back a sob. The way he constantly fought against the addiction in his blood, convinced he wasn’t good enough for anyone, broke me even more. I just wanted to reach into the pages and give him a tight hug and tell him he was enough. But then my girl Mia was there to remind him that he was worthy.
Also HUGE thank you to GoodGirls PR for an ALC as soon as I finished the E-ARC I jumped straight into the audiobook and the narrators for this are so swoon worthy. I couldn’t put it down. It was so great and wonderful highly recommend listening to the audiobook
