Good lord, he had me swooning and kicking my feet like a lovesick schoolgirl.
Was Ford a bit of an a-hole in the beginning? Yes, yes he was. but I still, for reasons I simply cannot explain, found him charming and sexy. we can unpack that later. And whenever he put his baseball cap on backwards, shouts into the void, I combusted. Anytime a MMC in a book does that, instantly swooning. It's my kryptonite.
Reese, I loved her from the start. I love that one day she said "fuck this," and just ran because everything was becoming too much for her. I found myself relating to some of the feelings she would have. This book did have me choking back a sob on occasion because of the heavy topics it discusses.
Ford and Reese were so amazing together and their banter was my favorite. I love that they eventually broke down each others walls and allowed themselves to truly love each other. It was wonderful....more

Did I love this book? Eh, not necessarily. Only reason I didn’t truly love it was because I found that she was a little too sunshine-y. And really, that’s a me problem. But like her constant sunshine state irritated me so badly and in retrospect it shouldn’t have. I just kept thinking, as the wonderful Meredith Grey once said ”Not everybody has to be happy all the time. That’s not mental health. That’s crap. (Again, this is definitely a me problem and in no way should deter you from picking up this book)
There were also other things she did that irritated me, but I won’t say for spoiler purposes. She did grow on me towards the end but for most of the book I just kept sitting there thinking “girl, please get angry at least once!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if she writes it, i'm absolutely reading it.
Rhys and Tabby's story was heartwarming, heartbreaking, and had me gasping for air. Did it take me a bit fully immerse myself into their story? Just a bit, and it was because I found that Tabby was mean just to be mean. Especially when it came to Rhys -- and I get it, she was mourning and grieving the loss of her sister and had all this pent up rage, sadness, and guilt. So it made sense that she took her anger out on him because he was the only one that allowed her to feel something. But, sometimes it became too much and rubbed me the wrong way. However, I love her and I love her tenacity and her strength and obviously she grew on me after a while. I just had to remind myself that this is a woman that isn't allowed to outwardly grieve the loss of her sister because she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. And for that, I'm in love with her.
Rhys, the man that he is. He truly must be protected at all costs. I love that, despite Tabby hating his guts after her sisters death, he still shows up for her and for her nephew. I love that he allows her to use him as her personal punching bag to get rid of some of the grief she's bottling up because, even after only being around her for a few weeks -- he realizes that she has no one to turn to. He's such an amazing man and I love him.
I loved the banter between Tabby and Rhys. It was phenomenal. You could cut the tension with a knife. I love that they weren't afraid to argue with each other and call each other names. It was funny and sweet. I also love that their number one goal was to keep her nephew's life as normal as possible. I did not expect to choke back tears while reading this, but of course, I did. I loved this book so much and I can't wait for more from Elsie.
We got a sneak peak into Wild Card and although I'm not a fan of ex's dad trope, I may make an exception for the queen herself....more

I love cowboy romances, we all know this by now. This was such a wonderful holiday novella. Whenever he called her "darlin" I squealed and giggled like a mad woman. It did things to me. This was such a perfect, quick Christmas read and I'm very excited to see more work from Grace Elena.
The only qualm I had about this book, which really wasn't too big of a deal but it may deter others. This is part of an interconnected stand alone series, and characters that were mentioned in the first book of this series are mentioned in the novella but without a quick little background to who said character is. For me, it was confusing for a second but I could look past it considering it's a novella and not supposed to be exceptionally long. I still thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will be going back to read the first book and look forward to the rest of this series!
I loved the first book to this series but this book is my absolute favorite.

I absolutely ignored some chores and shit I had to do just to finish this book because it had me in a chokehold. Sorry not sorry.
Not only did this book have a sexy af cowboy, but said cowboy was also tattooed and i love a man with ink. He also cooks you 12 different types of potatoes and is gives you multiple orgasms??? Sign me tf up.
I know accidental pregnancy is a trope that is not well loved, however, I always gobble them up like a starved woman. If they're done right, which in this case it was, it can be an amazing read. It was fan-fucking-tastic. The spice, the giggles, just everything about this book was wonderful.

Typically, second chance romances fall flat for me but this did not disappoint. I love that Davis was there for Dakota any chance she called. Dakota was amazing and so strong, I hate that she blamed herself for never coming back. I felt she didn't have any reason to apologize. And the fact her sister treated her so poorly irritated me so badly.
The least her sister could've done was give Dakota some grace, I understood where she was coming from with her anger but she also never bothered to think "why is my sister suddenly cutting us off?" -- especially if they were so close, I feel like that should've been a red flag. However, the real person that should be blamed and crucified is Dakota's ex. The reason this did not get a higher rating was how her ex Aiden was brought back (because we all knew he'd come back for Dakota somehow) I just felt like it was a weird and unnecessary way to bring him back.
Other than that, I did enjoy reading this book....more

I'd been waiting for Gus and Teddy's book since Done and Dusted and it did not disappoint.
I was beyond excited to be back in Meadowlark, its like coming home. I knew from the banter between Gus and Teddy in book one that the banter in their book was going to be top tier and boy was it ever.
August and Theodora will forever live in my heart. I loved watching their dynamic unfold from book one and seeing it unravel and evolve from snarky quips and heated arguments to awkward, yet comforting friends and then to holy shit i'm in love with you -- it was so fucking wonderful. We really get to the nitty gritty of Gus and Teddy's relationship with each other as well as learning more about their characters that we didn't see from the previous books. Both characters, while wholly different have a kindred spirit which is why they gravitated towards each other. They both hold the weight of the world on their shoulders by always taking care of the ones they love while never caring for themselves. I love that although they're opposites they still understand each other on a deeper level than they thought they could and they help shoulder the burdens they carry
I loved every single moment of this book, from the banter between Gus and Teddy to the relationship we got to see between Teddy and Riley to the heartwarming moments between everyone.
