Two boys, both named Will Grayson, one gay, one straight, both with rich emotional lives that is fairly rare to see ascribed to young male characters. The gay content goes well beyond the token-gay or the coming-out or the rest of the simplistic overhashed gay teen novel plots. I feel like handing this book out to all the teenagers in my life, gay and straight alike....more

there's a strong undercurrent (and overcurrent, eventually!) of romance in this book, which, while of decent quality, shifted the novel from what was generally creative urban fantasy into some pretty cliche romance novel territory. andrews is also obsessed with describing peoples' eyes.
in general, quite a fun and interesting world they've created! great range of child and adult characters, and they each had their own distinct voice (which the voice actor captured quite nicely all by herself). ...more
