I couldn't connect to Nina, the main character and found that I didn't really like her and so was not drawn into the emotion of the novel. The story certainly has an air of mystery surrounding it. In the opening pages we discover that a girl called Freya has left town and at the same time sent a parcel to a group of people, one person at a time, along with letters.
The story is about friendship, acceptance and understanding. It is coined as being quite funny which I did not personally feel but I very much liked the idea of one person bringing together a group of people who ordinarily may not have met. There is an abundance of characters in the narrative, too many for my tastes maybe which I think stopped me fully connecting with the story as a whole. The chapters are told from the perspectives of all the various characters. Win and Sophie are the two who the reader gets to know first and, hand on heart, I really wanted more from them and found myself longing to get back to their chapters whenever the narrative focused on other characters. They both had interesting back stories and real-life situations that they were dealing with and I definitely wanted them to have more page time. They had so much potential and I would have really like to see those characters and their relationship developed further.
I think teenagers who like to read about characters with real life issues and scenarios will probably enjoy the easy going narrative and will engage well with the story and probably will enjoy the aspect of multiple characters, their ‘high school drama and the air of mystery that the pages of this novel convey.

Kayla Montgomery decides to start a new life in LA and inadvertently becomes tangled up in more ways than one with boy band sensation Justin Beckett.
'Lead Me Back,' has all the ingredients needed to concoct a light, easy to read romance that hooks the reader in from the beginning to end. There was nothing not to love and I was super excited to read. CD Reiss pulled me into her world of make-believe by creating characters who I completely warmed to and a relationship that, from the outside looking in, seemed like a scenario that dreams are made of, which is exactly what I need in my romance novels.
A curse with far reaching consequences is crafted within the opening chapters of this novel and it is this event steeped in emotion and tragedy that shapes the narrative of the story, and thereafter a stunning tale is weaved depicting power, jealousy, betrayal, hope, sacrifice and above all else, love. Amy Harmon is a writing genius when it comes to creating unique layered worlds, whether they be in the genre of romance, history or fantasy and this story encompasses all three elements with absolute excellence. It was a joy to feel immersed in the land of warring clans and characters who were brave, who cared deeply, were principled, and had faith. Characters who developed perfectly through the timeline of the story and effortlessly pulled me into the heart of their cursed kingdom making me feel and hope and love along with them.
Bayr of Saylok and Alba are the main protagonists in a sea of compelling characters who make up the tapestry of this story, many having an equal and vital role in the rich prose of the story arc. I was utterly enamoured with the plotline and the vividly depicted world beautifully showcased by Harmon who, I feel, can turn her hand to any trope and capture my undivided attention with her penmanship. I very much hope I have the opportunity to visit the fantasy world of Saylok again and highly recommend this novel to my fellow reading addicts.

Nicole has learnt that trusting a man does not work for her. She's been hurt and is now fully focused on her interior design business. Enter sexy Brit Callum Huxley, he's super rich and Nicole's latest client so firmly off romantic limits for her. She wants his business but soon finds herself entering into far more than she'd bargained for.
As the story unfolds the reader learns more about the protagonists at the heart of the story, all their reasons why and, of course, nothing is straight forward on the path to true love but the journey is fabulous to read.
Hot steamy and sexy, 'Not Until You,' is a romantic, sensual love fest that has characters who are totally easy to fall in love with. Engaging and warm, I couldn't help but root for them and their happily ever after.

A second chance love and enemies-to-lovers all roll into the melting pot of sweet romance, written by two talented authors. I expected to fall head over heals for the story but for some reason I just did not feel invested. For my reading taste there was something amiss in terms of the character motivation and the impetus for the initial conflict between the hero and heroine and I believe it is these two aspects that affected my personal enjoyment.
‘Hold You Close, has all the traditional ingredients that will make readers swoon over this sweet romance and the hero at its heart. It didn't work for me as I had hoped but I am a lone voice in a sea of love for this story so I’d certainly recommend to lovers of the reading tropes I have noted above.

Folsom is a fast-paced contemporary romance with a touch of something different. The something different is a scintillating element of dystopian that adds a much appreciated fresh and unique quality to this romance story by allowing it to be character driven with naturalistic characters set in a time that is completely extraordinary, a time that is clearly not based in our reality but is totally believable. Folsom and Aster completely pulled me into their fictional world, made me feel invested in their characters and the circumstance they found themselves in.

Set in a world where only 12 men exist, the female race dominates. It's the age of women and as a result, the entire human race is under threat of extinction and need the, 'End Men,' to perform their duties and procreate by having sex with lots of strangers. One of the 12 end men is Folsom Donahue, he's a celebrity, every woman wants his child and the reader soon experiences the pressure of his duty as a sex worker. Gwen is the woman that changes everything and it is really from here that the plot begins to unravel, the story unfolds brilliantly exploring issues of inequality, power and forbidden love in a smoothly written narrative that is well developed, has lots of drama and is thoroughly addictive. My one criticism and the reason why I didn't go for the full on 5 stars is that something happens towards the end that I felt did not completely fit with the impetus of the story arc and went a little against the motivation of the main plot. However this is a very small thing and I do think this fantastic writing duo will convince me that perhaps what happened HAD to happen.....if you want to know what I'm talking about then you need to read this page turner of a book. I am waiting with high anticipation and bated breath for the next part in this series.

E X C E R P T : It’s the little one who interests me, her hair more tangled than her sister’s, like she didn’t bother with it at all. Her eyes are curious and wild: brown, common and yet uncommon in the way they slant upward at the outside corners. She stands in the foyer, her hands clasped at her waist, but instead of studying my body like most women do, her head is tilted to the side, eyes fixed on my boots. I clear my throat to get her attention and she drags her eyes away from my feet and back to my face. She frowns and shakes her head like she’s just realizing where she is. “Your boots are beautiful, she finally says. From somewhere beside me her sister groans and her mother lets out what I take as an embarrassed laugh. “Thank you, I say, unable to keep the humor from my voice. “I designed them myself. I don’t usually tell people that but she seems genuinely interested. “You design clothes? she asks, surprised. “You’re surprised that I’m good at something other than fucking? Her mother makes a choking noise, but we both ignore it, our attention solely focused. “Yes, I’m quite surprised, she says. “Though I can’t attest personally to the fucking part… “Yet, I say. “Yet, she echoes, with a slight nod of her head.

Fabulous and very sexy read with a beautiful dose of emotion. There's quite an art to writing a novella length story, one that engages comprehensively and tells a complete full-bodied love story and R. Scarlett nails it in this prelude to her American Gods series.
Filthy Gods has romance, sensuality, a secret society of men, and a touch of the forbidden. Both easy on the heart and mind Scarlett easily pulled me into her story world and made me warm to her characters, not just the main protagonists, but each and every supporting Filthy God. There’s something quite special about a group of fictional male characters whom form a tight bond protecting each other and their female counterparts. It quickly became an absolute pleasure to read. I wondered about the motivation of the heroine in the very beginning of the story but I must say it all came together wonderfully in an extraordinarily beautiful way with the perfect development for this fast paced story. My heart was fit to burst for the couple.
The trajectory of the story is smoothly navigated with an addictive quality that left me wanting more from the each of the American Gods who have a role in this standalone novella. It offers a delectable taste of what is surely to come in this series.

I loved this story so very much, it's definitely my favourite Shen novel to date. The more I read from this author the more I become enamoured with her writing. 'Sinners of Saint,' is a series of STANDALONES. The latest story focusses on the love story of Bane and Jessie Carter, their story is raw, hard fought, lined with heartache, twists and turns, and written with a very large dose of pure romance genre brilliance. The story and the characters took a hold of my heart, held it and did not let go until I was completely content.
Bane is a bad boy surfer who is compelled to seek out Jessie Carter for friendship, JUST FRIENDSHIP, should be easy, right? The story that unfolds is one that I honestly did not expect to find. It deals with a very serious issue with sensitivity and grace, organically develops and made me believe every ounce of character motivation in terms of thought, action and dialogue. The prologue sets the tone perfectly and did a superb job of making me want to know more about the male and female protagonist at the heart of this contemporary romance. This page turner of a novel peels away layers all the way through the narrative revealing a strong heroine and a gorgeous swoon worthy hero. Jessie clearly has the capacity and the strength to save herself and Bane is authentically depicted as a bad boy but in equal measure is man who cares, who protects and is able to love wholly and completely.
Seriously, reading friends, if you love a story that intrigues you, grabs you, makes you think and feel, swoon and laugh with characters whom you root for then this is a story that you need in your book life! It is truly breath-taking, emotional and woven together so perfectly.

I thought this would be a story that I would love completely, a story that would grab my emotions but sadly this was not the case. For my personal taste, some parts were overly detailed and did not add to the development of the story and parts of the dialogue did not feel 'diologue-like to my ear. The term TIME TRAVEL(ED) was used a lot and I know it was needed because that's what the heroine did but sometimes, especially towards the end, I would have liked her to express it differently, to the extent I started to think of alternatives as I was reading. Perhaps the biggest stumbling block for me and maybe the thing that made all the afore mentioned magnified and stopped me falling in love with the narrative was the fact that I didn't fully buy into the time travel element and I think this caused major problems to my enjoyment as this is where all the angst and character emotion was driven from. I've thought a lot about why I didn't connect with this story and the characters because I love, 'The Time Travellers Wife,' and I see many readers are loving, 'The Surviving Trace,' I'm definitely firmly in the minority so maybe if I read at a different moment in time, I'd feel differently, maybe it was the wrong book at the wrong time or maybe this trope is not generally suited to my tastes.
I really enjoyed the main protagonist’s chemistry, their banter, their hate to love relationship and I really liked the mystery element so if you enjoy time travel stories with a contemporary romance feel then this story is definitely worthy of a read.

Jessica introduces Callen to a love of music and h Callen Hayes and Jessica Creswell are the characters at the heart of this second chance love story. Jessica introduces Callen to a love of music and he gives Jessica her first kiss but disappears from her young life very soon after. Years later he gains recognition as well know composer and bad boy who is still suffering from demons of the past and desperately needs inspiration to make his music. Both characters end up stumbling back together in France and this is where their second chance love story truly starts to develop and open up.
Mia Sheridan certainly knows how to layer a beautiful and emotional love story. At times there was perhaps a layer too many. The story is weaved with a historical aspect relating to Joan of Arc's era and the work of Jessica. She finds letters from that time and translates them, it is these letters/writings that are peppered through, 'More Than Words,' and depict another love story. In a way this was thoroughly fascinating but for my tastes maybe too detailed and took away from the main event. To me the main love story stood on its own merit and I simply wanted to bask in those feelings without distraction.
'More Than Words,' is a standalone story that is definitely a fine read for romance readers and fans of Mia Sheridan.

What did I just read?!! Was my first thought as I finished, 'Even Money,' it was a first class reading treat! Those last few pages.. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. If you want to know what THAT is than pick up this book right now. 'Even Money,' sees Alessandra Torre going right back to her suspenseful writing roots all wrapped up in a delicious HOT romance.
[image] A cocktail waitress and the most powerful man in Vegas with heavy responsibilities to match. Secrets, lies, death, and love all weaved into a prose that is both vivid and fluid. Written with a mixed narrative style, first person when from the perspective of Bell, the heroine at the heart of the story, switching to third person narrative at all other times, a technique I have seen this author use before and one that works perfectly for a story like this allowing the reader to learn things about various characters, situations, and moments in time that aid the suspenseful development whilst maintaining the flow and tone of the story.
The suspense element is skilfully layered into the narrative so that it made my heart rate rise, had me on the edge of my seat but equally did not distract me from the main course of the story which is the sizzling hot chemistry and the perfectly developed relationship of the male and female protagonists. They danced their way around undeniable attraction, an attraction that is convincingly shown to the reader. Their relationship may be one of an instant connection but I totally bought into their connection, believed it and wanted them to act on their feelings which is testament to the writing power of this author.
There isn’t anything about, 'Even Money,' that I didn’t enjoy. Fast paced, high drama, very sexy and sensual with great leading characters who had amazing chemistry and engaged my attention, my belief and my heart from the very beginning. It kept me firmly on my toes in terms of making me think about the story and I simply cannot wait for the next part which thankfully is coming towards the end of this month.... I need to know what happens next!

'Over the Edge,' is the highly anticipated conclusion to THE EDGE 4-part novella series. It kept me guessing about what was happening and what the finale outcome would be, until the very end.
Caden and Greyson are the protagonists that take centre stage throughout. I became highly engaged with the series, invested in them as a couple and interested in their individual histories.
Part 4 is the fallout from the dramatic **WHY DID SHE DO THAT??** event from part 3. The consequences are far reaching and, in the end, pivotal to the conclusion of the story that perhaps ultimately felt very slightly rushed towards the end and constructed to allow all the story pieces to fall into place. However, maybe this had to be the case to maintain the pacey, highly dramatic style of the narrative. The conclusion has certainly provided lots and lots of book chat with my fellow bookies.
Loaded with sexual scenes where the chemistry of the protagonists is palpable, I felt their passion, their love, their trust and their loyalty leaving no doubt that the main characters and their relationship is crafted perfectly with development and engaging personalities. A high-octane story that will keep readers guessing until the end.

ON THE EDGE is the absolute best name for this second part of the series. I was literally on the edge of my seat with the intensity of the narrative, questioning what the heck was going on and where was I being taken, all in the best way possible.
The psychological aspects blew my mind in terms of the context of what the characters were going through. This second part ramps up the intensity and continues the high emotion and dark sexual activity between the protagonists which is totally necessary within the parameters of this love story and has an important impact on the story arc as a whole. I'm still thinking about it, weighing up the scenarios, trying to think how I can explain my thoughts about the story without spoiling in any way. There is something major about one of the characters, something that is a result of the fall out of their past, something that the reader partly discovers early on in the series, something that is best uncovered as the story unfolds. I'm still trying to fully understand and waiting to discover more information as to the whys which I know the author will reveal by stripping layers in the most delectable way in the remaining two novellas of this series.
And the ending of book 2.... I did not see coming but it has definitely attacked my feelings and left me reeling... I can't even coherently explain but I need to know what happens and am waiting with high anticipation and bated breath for book 3!!
NOTE: 'On the Edge,' marks the second part of THE EDGE series which comprises of four novella length books and a prequel which the author recommends should be read before book 3

CD Reiss has for a long time been one of my very favourite authors and the start of this series shows me exactly why. For me she is at her absolute heart stopping best when she gets down and dirty and delivers a dark and twisty romance and ROUGH EDGE is the beginning of exactly that. Oh, my goodness, I'm so very excited to read more. The series will comprise of four delicious novella length books with married couple Greyson and Caden at the heart of the story.
The dynamic between the couple is intense and passionate. They have a deep sensual all-consuming love for one another which, it becomes clear, will take them to some dark and maybe dangerous places together because of issues Caden has.... I won't say more but my mind is blown, I've no idea where or how dark the narrative is going but I do not want to leave this story experience or the characters, it was addictive compulsive reading. The writing is pacey, not a word is wasted. It's a short novel yet the author conveys so much within the framework of her tight prose showing development of plot and character and most importantly, emotion. I will most definitely be reading this first part again before the next instalment is unleashed to the reading world, so friends, do not delay #oneclick today and enjoy the ride of this story!

It was a comment on how well she knew the animal, and how well she loved it. If eyes could listen, hers did, gazing at me in the darkness. I couldn’t lie to her for much longer. The entire invite list was watching the video. The bar was empty. The hallway lights were dimmed. The kitchen staff moved constantly and quietly to set up the buffet. I laced my fingers in hers. She had a gold band we’d gotten out of expediency. No big sparkling rock. No sign I’d ever courted her properly before marrying her. My father always said a man didn’t skip steps if he wanted to do something once. I slid my cheek to hers and whispered in her ear, “I want to destroy you.â€ Her hand tightened in mine so tightly I could feel our bones. Her glands must have fired, because the apples and the perfume melded and became something so uniquely her my balls ached—but not for simple release. For something more. An agreement of ownership. 'White Knight,' is a total melt-your-heart romance. I swooned. My heart beat fast and I basked in the visceral feelings this couple showed me. It explores the feelings of first love, second chances and the person we are inside. It’s about a girl who used to cry and the boy who went away to find his fortune. 'White Knight,' eloquently illustrates the thought process of what is really important and the aspects of a person’s character that makes them attractive to another.
Rich girl Catherine Barrington meets Christopher when she is 16 and he is poor. The narrative toggles between the past and present showcasing the time of first love, first attraction and how it all went wrong, and the ultimate development of the second chance, very beautiful romance. That first time rush of feelings for another person is depicted perfectly, in fact, both the first time and second chance love are flawlessly crafted.
I especially loved that, 'White Knight,' is romantic without being overly sweet so it very much suited my reading palette and made the story very powerful for me. It's a romance that I FELT deep inside and was completely invested in, my favourite of this STANDALONE series.
NOTE: White Knight is a standalone in the same world as King of Code, You don't need to read anything else to read White Knight.

The Smallest Part is a standalone friend to lovers romance with a dash of the forbidden and lots of love. It toggles between the past and present time frame with a third person penmanship that slowly and certainly builds the layers of the narrative and drew me into a story that illustrates the perspective of both the male and female protagonist. It’s about friendship, family, loving, holding on and letting go. It delves into the unknown and explores the ties of love. Every single element of the story is beautiful, a word I'll try not to overuse in my passion for this novel but it's a word that is so apt in explaining the nature, story and characters of, 'The Smallest Part.'
Noah and Mercedes have been best friends forever. She’s the, ..girl who didn’t get the guy, and I feel this story first and foremost, belongs to her. Having said that, each and every character within the writing canvas are important to the telling, including the sweetest little girl and the dashing, sexy, charming and downright beautiful human being that is Noah, the hero at the heart of the story arc. The motivation for the character’s reasoning and behaviours is eloquently weaved into the plot showcasing both the past and the present happenings of friendship, a friendship that entails more than Noah and Mercedes. The Smallest Part has a cast of characters who all leave their mark and have a solid relevance to the development of this gorgeous story.
Although this is most definitely a standalone novel, Moses, a well-loved character from a previous Harmon novel makes several appearances. I very much appreciated his significance and the way the author weaved his character into the narrative. It really is very clever and super special. Any readers who have read, 'A Law of Moses,' will know that Noah made his debut appearance in this book and left an intriguing mark, one that I’m so happy Amy Harmon decided to explore and express in the form of a contemporary romance novel whilst maintaining her unique and beautiful style.
The Smallest Part showcases this authors talent for portraying a compelling story packed full of emotion and engaging characters. Heartfelt and heart-warming. There's sadness and hope, second chances and most of all there's love. It completely captured my heart and took me along on the most romantic journey.
