I am convinced this series is way too overhyped. It is not bad�. It’s just fine? I will be honest this series feels like a ya. Like for me it is ya. Just characters are not teenagers and that’s all the difference. This book both disappointed me and pleasantly surprised me. This book is dull. It is more of telling than showing. It is unnecessary long. Surprisingly, Kaladin’s chapter were my least favourite in this book. And Adolin and Shallan surprised me with how I liked them in this book. I was said there is a love triangle? But in reality there is none. Like it lasted one page literally. Shallan and Kaladin thought about each other like one paragraph maximum. I kinda like Adolin and Shallan as a couple. Honestly Brandon Sanderson is so afraid to scare his readers that his romance doesn’t have any drama at all. Characters like each other from the beginning and then naturally become a couple. Kaladin is much more of an observant, and I don’t see ANY chemistry between him and anyone else except Witt( tho Witt has chemistry with everyone tbh) and Syl. I was disappointed bc Kaladin pissed me off so much and his chapters were repetitive and boring. Also miscommunication pisses me off. I mean what stoped Shallan and Kaladin to tell Dalinar that they are the radiants? Why there is always some need of an epic battle to do that????? If not Shallan and her backstory I would give this book 2 stars. I waited for a badass fight between Szeth and Kaladin so it would be so short and underwhelming???? Szeth’s fights in his prologues were longer and more interesting! About writing. It is very simple and understandable. There are a lot of repetitive stuff tho. I hated how much characters were saying “Ba� in their dialogues. The dialogues were not that much important? They were just okay? Same for the plot, it was super predictable. The plot twists were not surprising at all.

This book sucks at everything. Characters act like they are teenagers (ALL CHARACTERS), not grown ups with kids and jobs to deal with. The main conflict of this book that Gavin can’t make Thea come drove me mad. The jokes are funny for little children who have just learned what sex is. The third act break up like 10 PAGES before the ending was ridiculous. And book club was stupid. It didn’t give anything to the story. I wanted to see guys reading books together and enjoying it more. Instead it was weird guys making some stupid shit. No one has a single personality here.
