Natania Barron prose is some of the most beautiful i have ever read! The tone of this book is its own winterty astheic! Not many can make you feel, smell, and taste and scene the way she can.
Medievalists will also love the many hidden easiter eggs in this book. I myself found twinges of Dante and Boethius as well as fated mates.
I loved the symbolism of Lions in this book! It's great to see Yvain make an appearance and the armor! Oh my gosh! The armor! *fans oneself*
The prose of this book also shows how well Barron knows and loves courtly love literature. It explodes off these pages in a way that is relatable to a modern audience!

Much of this book resonated with me as I have throughout my life subconsciously lived by similar standards. Ideals that likely seeded in my soul during my medieval studies in university. Lots of the values in here have certainly also flowed into our western and cowboy culture as well.

This book is forever going to live in my mind. I agree with Theodore Burne, who Hailed this book Kristan's Crowning achievement of his career. It is all this and more. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the film that started my love of King Arthur (2004 film). This book also brought me back to the world of Roman Britan. My Arthur, the Roman inspired horse lord who led his men into battle and whose legend still lives on in our horses and souls.
You can smell the mist, feel the armor, and hear the ring of swords within these pages.
This book is an upmost work of perfection and beauty! I loved every single minute of it right up until its last breath!! This is my Arthur in all his glory.
