I did not care much for the narrator of this book, but I persevered and dealt with it. Except for the narration, this book would have been a 5 star. The twist and turns kept me riveted to this one. Barton doesn't mind killing off characters you've come to like in the story, so don't get invested in anyone but the main character(s). I am really enjoying this series. It's on to the next book for me....more

Unsure if it was the actual narrator or an editing failure. Too many scenes/segments ran into each other without a suitable pause between them. The story moves on to a different aspect and you're two or three sentences in before you realize the situation has changed. This is a downside to listening as opposed to reading it in print format. One sure thing I can say is that Barton knows how to keep you guessing to the end. I'm five books into this series. and still haven't figured out why it is called the Griffin Powell series. Though I find fault with some of the books, thus far, they are becoming a bit addictive. I enjoyed it, I recommend it, and can hardly wait to acquire the next book in the series....more

All the books were okay, but had boring parts. I almost gave up on this third one but, once I got over the boring hump it picked up and the ending was good. It was an entertaining series but not as good as some of the other series by Krentz. Still worth a read though....more

I am so enjoying this discovery of the Nora Roberts books. I decided to start with her stand-alone books instead of the series/trilogies, and I am so glad I did. I have not been disappointed so far. I just love the way she weaves the sense of family throughout her books. This one was a very emotional read with some poignant dialog and scenes. I was either crying or on the verge of tears throughout this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just be forewarned, have a box of Kleenex at the ready when you sit down to read this one. I loved it, even with the painful subject matter. Nora handled the subject of child and spousal abuse so well and tastefully. Zane and Darby were perfectly matched, they complimented each other in so many ways. I also loved how the theme of family and close friends being an ever present help when things turn ugly in a person's life was beautifully woven into the story. Nora Roberts is a master story teller. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of her awesome stories....more

Subject matter was of importance and shed light on the problems faced in identity theft. Story kept your attention focused on what was going to happen next. Very much liked the emphasis on family, both Morgan's and Miles's. Was never a fan of the books written under the name Nora Roberts, but this one and Mind Games by her have piqued my interest. I will be reading more of her works now....more

This one proves you can have a disabling injury and still be a hero. Luther and Grace are paired up by Jones & Jones Inc. for a special assignment in Maui. Both have incorrect perceptions about the other, but when they meet for the first time, both have to concede to themselves that there is just something compelling about the other, and it is almost love at first sight, which neither is ready or willing to admit....more

Young woman has a spunky, hip grandmother who keeps trying to set her up with dates. When grandma meets a nice young man she knows is perfect for her granddaughter, she sets about to hook them up with a little scheme she has in mind. The two potential lovers do seem to hit it off but they soon feel something is off, not right. Together they discover that grandma has "cat fished" them both but all ends well. I really liked this short story more than I thought I would.
