MaybeWhile I appreciated the books conveyance of the depth of Edward and Maras feelings, I didn't need to read over 200 pages where NOTHING happened. Maybe it would have been more suspenseful if I didn't know what happened in the future. I didn't care about Edwards torture because I knew he would survive. Ugh it was like a more dramatic New Moon. I can't live without him! I just can't!
Willing to continue because I like the complexity of the plot but worried I'm going to hate the next book if it focuses on Edward deciding he no longer loves Mara...more

Having JUST finished the book, I must say... Oh my god.... I hate the Traveler Clan. Any book that can evoke that much emotion, good or bad, is a good book in my eyes.
However this book kinda felt like it was two shorter books melded together. Everything that happened with the council and everything with the travelers seemed disjointed when put together. I liked both storyline, but it didn't seem to "flow". Somewhat predictable/foreshadowed/inevitable cliff hanger ending but I'm still a sucker for it anyways.
I picked up this series with all of the books up until this one already written and I've read them all within a few weeks.... I want to read the next one 😫...more
Enjoyed the book, like to continue to hear about the characters stories, but I never really felt the same sense of impending dread or fear. The plot wEnjoyed the book, like to continue to hear about the characters stories, but I never really felt the same sense of impending dread or fear. The plot was interesting and I definitely wanted to find out who the angel was, but in the end it wasn't that scary. And I'm sorry but I'm still not into the Finn romance. Love and hate aren't the same thing. Looking forward to the next book and hoping that the intensity picks back up now that we've been introduced to the tracker world!...more

Char**spoiler alert** Maybe I missed the point but I couldn't understand how seniors in high school would LOVE to hang out with someone much younger. Charlie's parents seemed to have no regard for where he was, and I know my parents sure as hell would've been more concerned if I was out til 2 am on a school night at 15 or 16. There were a lot of life issues brought up in this book and not a ton of development on all of them. I really don't feel like they went in depth enough with the sister's abortion.... she was bound to have an emotional fallout from that because the only person she had to talk to was her brother. Overall not the most realistic read for me, and got very deep and philosophical at times but I still rate it high because it kept my attention. ...more

**spoiler alert** Alright, this was better than the first, but I still never felt truly invested or cared a lot who lived or died. Maybe it's because **spoiler alert** Alright, this was better than the first, but I still never felt truly invested or cared a lot who lived or died. Maybe it's because it was from the perspective of each queen I never felt pulled to one. And low magic or no, I didn't care that Joseph died at the end. Way too many excuses for his cheating. I never felt too worried any queen would die though and that's why this book still gets three stars. I want to worry for their dates but I always knew plot magic would prevail. So while this series still doesn't wow me I probably will continue with the next book. I don't like not knowing the ending to a story....more
