With a hero and heroine that both work in dangerous fields, they reconnect as they try to find the bad guy, work out their own issues, and give in to the smexy urgings that have never gone away.
I loved that Carson was protective without ever crossing the line. I was concerned Sienna might end up being too tough for more liking but she was perfect. She knew when she needed help and never did the “too stupid heroine things. Both were wonderful characters, strong, fierce, loyal and totally likable.
A perfect read for a quick break with plenty of action and lots of steam.

She proves it once more with Jinx and Ali. Ali was such a unique heroine with her background and career, she was perfect for Jinx.
As always, this hero fits into everything I love about the main character. Protective, possessive, jealous when the occasion arises and determined to make and keep her as his own.
”I am a f---ing lying bas--rd, you know that - but I am a bas--rd who is loyal to you. If it means you are protected, I will lie, steal, cheat, or kill in an instant.
He’s also more than he appears on the surface. Getting to know the real Jinx was a journey only one woman could travel and even then he had a bit of a struggle. I loved every part of him.
This is one scorching thrill ride with twists and turns that kept me engaged each step of the way. If this is what it’s like to get jinxed, then sign me up...I need to be Jinxed!
Getting more from the Trouble for Hire group added moments that had me grinning from ear to ear. And we also meet Jinx’s brother Ramsey. His story is next and I suspect we’re going to have a whole lot of alpha overload with him and his lady. I can’t wait!
This can be read as a standalone although all the Trouble guys are worth checking out.

Patience was a heroine I liked immediately. As this is written primarily from her point of view, it was easy to connect with her. When Brodie confronts her at one point, she didn’t hesitate to let him have it, and I love that she was confident enough to do so in the face of a man many would find intimidating.
While we didn’t get a lot of Brodie, there was enough there to understand that he liked what he saw in Patience. He’s definitely got that protective alpha hero vibe going which is always a win in my opinion. Watching him pay the price after making a colossal mistake was pretty fun.
Although this was not heavy in drama, it still had plenty of mystery and suspense driving the story forward. The chemistry between Patience and Brodie was clearly evident, but their relationship really didn’t have enough time or opportunity to take off until the end. This is a fast, short read perfect for a quick break or something between longer reads.

This is a novella but it feels like so much more, mainly due to the fact Kathryn and Daniel had been in a relationship prior to the beginning of this story. That carries a lot of weight and validates their emotions and responses.
I loved the way Daniel had perceived his relationship with Kathryn the first time around as well as his reactions to her when they were reunited a few months later. Any hero that is possessive, jealous and above all, protective, is a hero I will always recommend. Add in some smexy moves and all my check-boxes have been marked.
While this is primarily about the relationship between Kathryn and Daniel, it has its standard Katie Reus suspense and mystery threaded throughout it making it even more of a page turner. I gobbled this down in one sitting and was immediately hungry for the rest of the series.
With action and drama sprinkled throughout, secondary characters I can’t wait to get more of and the sizzling chemistry with this couple, I highly recommend this!

However, the accidental pregnancy is one of my favorite tropes . It was absolutely delicious when it involved Pippa and Sully. While they are still older, I loved watching them deal with the surprise and then the journey through pregnancy. The fact that that time is layered with danger and accusations made it all the more wonderful.
Pippa was a tough as nails heroine but she had moments of softness that made me love her. Her process through the pregnancy had me loving her all the more as it’s a storyline I adore.

Sully was amazing with all his delicious alphaness, especially when you add a forthcoming baby into the mix. Again adding to that storyline I can’t get enough of. Their initial conflict was believable and watching them come together was everything I love.

This was filled with lots of drama as they work to solve a serious problem that Pippa is facing. There is a wealth of wonderful characters included, all making this not only a bit more dramatic at times, but fun as well. I loved seeing past characters and regardless of the fact I just finished this one, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next.

Let go from her job, Charley is trying to start her own assessment company. When her new client, the one who could really get her name out there, ends up being the same man who tried to steal her milk, she’s got concerns. He’s a complete adrenaline junkie, lives an outrageous life and she’s extremely attracted to him. But when her best friend finagles them into going on a trip together, she’s wondering who the risk taker is now?
’He was nothing but the shiny object that would derail her from her plans. The bell to her bird. The squirrel to her dog. Her kryptonite.
Despite being careful about everything in her life, Charley always ends up in one botched up situation or another. She’s adorkable, accident prone, and too cute for words. I enjoyed watching her try to avoid her attraction to Chris, knowing it was a losing battle. ’He was like a great big ball of golden sunshine that warmed and cheered everyone around him, no matter what their intentions. The man was contagious.
Chris lives for the adrenaline high, living life on the edge. I loved that he challenged Charley and drew her out of her protective shell.
’The woman had uptight down to a science. And he knew just how to make her unravel.
From the very beginning they had a spark that grew into intense heat. Their reasons for ignoring the chemistry between themselves believable.
This couple were so much fun together. The banter is sharp and quick, cute and engaging. There were some hilarious moments as Charley got herself, and him by association, into various situations. I was a bit disappointed that this character trait tended to die down as the story progressed. However, it was enough to enjoy the thought that the risk assessor was more at risk than the one being assessed.
This is a story that will immediately pull you in due to the meet cute and then the continued cute which eventually moves into emotional involvement between the hero and heroine. The conflict was a bit under thought but didn’t take long to resolve. The angst level is definitely low and the heat, once they gave in, was pretty steamy. Mostly, this is just a great feel good story with wonderful characters that make you smile.

However, the writing was eloquent and flowed while the main character, Isabelle, was well developed. It is a great twist on the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast minus the magic and adding the strange restraining devices. It even includes the villain Gaston. There is not any romance or a couple falling in love. This is simply the story of a young woman who chooses to serve the Master in order to broaden her knowledge of the world around her.
This is the perfect book for someone that enjoys reading a story centered on BDSM. No epilogue and it feels as if there will be another book to follow it up. ARC provided for honest review

Just a look at her picture is enough to send his protective instincts into overdrive. Once he meets her face to face, he’s completely gone for the sweet innocent woman who is in a madman’s crosshairs.
Hadley had a rough upbringing and now that she’s met her brother and father she’s finding a contentment she never knew, even if they are a bit overprotective. When she spills coffee on a handsome stranger she immediately feels attraction to him, not knowing that he’s been monitoring her actions. As they become closer Hadley has stars in her eyes not realizing that Axel is keeping a deep dark secret from her. One that has the potential to rip her heart out.
I loved Axel so much! He was so totally in it with Hadley. Every step he took, every decision he made was to keep her as long as he could before the inevitable would happen. Once his secret was revealed there was no way she would want to be with him and my heart hurt at his assurance that all would be over when that day came. And that day must come soon, and he’s the one who must reveal all his secrets to her, quickly. That was just additional angst to an already fraught situation.
Hadley was so sweet. She deserved all the goodness life could offer and she has fought hard to become something more. When things take a drastic turn she never loses her control. She may not be able to physically take down a threat, but she keeps her emotions in check and handles each change in her perceptions with a strength that was compelling to read about. She was the perfect woman for Axel and together they were amazing.
Each book in this series has gotten better and Innocent Target is no exception. Definitely my favorite of the group at this point. Axel and Hadley both checked all my boxes for a great hero and heroine. This is a fast paced read with lots of action, well developed secondary characters that added to the plot rather than bog it down, so much steam you’re going to need a fan, and an ending that will leave you with a happy and contented sigh.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Having always done what her family wanted, she is now breaking away, but the answers to her dilemma aren’t so easy to find. Cash, her friend and yet her ex’s best friend as well, has been there to help her with small problems along the way. After a drunken night, a discussion of tattoos and some cookies, Callie is suddenly seeing something in Cash she was never expecting.
I enjoyed this “ex’s best friend story. Cash has been in love with Callie for years and yet his loyalty to his friend has kept him at a distance. Now he can’t seem to stay away, but what will happen to his friendship and most importantly, the business they share together, if news of their relationship gets out?
Callie had a real struggle on her hands but she was strong and determined despite the emotional obstacles that stood in her way. Cash was wonderful! He was so caring and supportive of her every step of the way. I loved when his alpha tendencies arose! I was so curious how this whole situation was going to sort itself out because it felt like someone was going to lose along the way. The ending was maybe a tad bit tidy and smooth for the circumstances, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
This was a well-paced read that had some great secondary characters, some of which I wanted to push out of a fast running car. The heat level was steamy and oh so good with some dirty talk, which I LOVE, thrown in and the chemistry between Callie and Cash was at overload. There’s an epilogue that only covers a few weeks, so I would’ve liked a further look into their future, but I closed this book feeling happy and sated and again, so pleased with this author’s work.

Autumn and Lincoln were wonderful together. I liked that they’d each been eyeing each other for a while before their opportunity arose. While Lincoln was plenty alpha, and thoroughly protective, he was sensitive to what Autumn wanted and as a result was gentle while he paced his moves towards her.

This is a very fast read and I found it perfect to round out my afternoon. There is a bit of mystery, danger and suspense with a healthy dose of steamy goodness to spice it up. This couple was fire together and I enjoyed every minute of them together!

I am so in love with Asa and Keelie! Usually, it’s all about the hero, you know? But not this time. I absolutely fell in love with this heroine. She’s had to put on a façade for so long. Struggled to find something normal that works for her and her children. Filled with so much anger and distrust, scared of what might happen in life, her character touched me in a way I’ve never been affected by a heroine before.
But don’t think for a second I didn’t tumble completely in love with Asa Hollingsworth as well. Oh dear lord! The man gives a whole new definition to dedication, protection and love. And then there’s the fact that I’m sure there wouldn’t be a woman around that doesn’t swoon should his attention shift to her. Or heck, to even be in the same room as him would cause swoonage in anyone that looked his way.
Together this couple took me to a wonderfully giddy, sometimes angsty, always wanting more, place. This is how romance is done!
Keelie meets Asa while ditched during a blind date. Literally, ditched. We quickly learn that the ability to change tires should be the main prerequisite when looking for a man. Asa fits the bill and despite Keelie’s decision to never date again, he pushes himself into her and her children’s lives all while gifting her with the things her life has been missing.
There is plenty of drama here with Asa’s daughter as well as Keelie’s emotional issues, but in true Brynne Asher fashion we ride the storm knowing that the end is going to leave us breathless, satiated, and happy. I loved the twist at the end, knowing it would be there but unsure where or how until it actually happened. The epilogue was spot on and so dang awesome I had to reread it immediately…just because I could.

If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, no worries. They each stand alone. However, I recommend you remedy that injustice immediately! After you read this one of course. No need to wait.
Okay, so I’m going to let you know that a friend of mine forced this author to let me have an advanced copy and Ms. Asher was too nice to say no. So yes, this is a review of an ARC but if you can’t tell it’s completely honest, all you have to do is check out the verified purchase on my Amazon review when this goes live.
And one last thing…If I had a pantry and an Asa, my farm would be a perfect kind of chaos as well.
Dual POV Safe, safe, safe! No ow/om…safe! Possible triggers only if you are sensitive to drug usage (off page and not by any of the main or close secondary characters)

Audio-book: Narrators This has three audios, each with two different male and female narrators. I found them all to do a great job of both male/female voices. I was definitely pulled into the stories by the strong characterizations these narrators provided. I did struggle on the last book as the hero in it had an accent that didn’t quite work for me but otherwise everything else regarding the narration was perfect.
This is one hot trilogy of novellas whose sole purpose is pure erotica in a very naughty way. All older men and younger women, some daddy kink as well as just pure out and out dirty sex is the primary focus of this audio-book. These all have over the top alpha heroes who want to claim their virgin heroines immediately upon first sight. Each of them are the jealous, protective type. The first and third heroes are completely obsessed with the heroine and one went to great lengths to get her into his possession. Each story has just a bit of a plot to it but they all give a very, very nice and sweet epilogue that made me wish there had been more to the story itself. I do love a good epilogue.
I personally love these type of alpha heroes and plan on checking other books by this author in hopes of finding a full length one with more of a storyline.

Georgia was such a feisty fireball. She really had the gift of revenge although it never seemed to quite hit its mark which added a level of humor that had me grinning throughout most of the book. Dominic was her main target and I quickly fell in love with him because he found her just as amusing as I did.

This is a no to low angst read with not only a wonderful hero and heroine, but secondary characters that added to the laugh out loud moments. I’m looking forward to more from them.

I love a strong protective hero and Crash is over the top with it in the most delicious way. He's got all the big, bad, jealous characteristics. The fact that he's so clueless about relationships, and women in a relationship, is all kinds of delightful.
I found myself smiling pretty much through this whole book. The humor is perfect. Not immature and not raunchy but with a sweetness to it that pulls you into the story on its own. Add in the danger that stirs all the characters up and the ongoing discussion between Crash and Mary and I was a satisfied reader. And then I became a happy blubbering mess at its conclusion and I loved it!

I really love the town and the quirky residents that live there. Ethan surprised me this time around as the author showed me what he was really made of and what caused him to make the decisions he did. I absolutely loved Darby. She was what I wish I could be. She embraced all her desires and didn’t let others dictate her actions. Her love of all things vintage totally won me over.

While there were a lot of times this couple’s relationship was not the sole focus of the story, when they were together they set my kindle on fire. This was a fast paced story that was relatively low angst with just a bump here and there to keep me questioning how things were going to work out.
Holy ho ho ho!!! This is Christmas spiced romance at its very best!

I loved Wyatt! The fact that he had had a thing for Christy for years added a dash of anticipation to the current situation he finds himself in with her. I loved his thoughts and fantasies as they ran rampant when face to face with her. But when he realizes she is in danger, his basic instincts kick in in a whole different manner. He’s there to protect her and, holy mistletoe, did he take his job to do so seriously!
This is a shorter read but has all the feels of a longer story. The characters are well developed and I found myself completely invested in their building relationship. There is a sprinkling of danger and drama that unraveled in an unexpected way. And I loved the various ways the holiday season played a part in Christy and Wyatt’s steamy interactions.

I highly recommend this for those that love a little spice and danger with their holiday romance.
This was such a cute, fun read. It’s a great way to kick off the holidays and perfect to just sit back and chill.

It was easy to connect with Paige. She’s the girl next door, a little quirky with her lists, but I found her to be extremely likable. I loved that she was a bit naive when it came to Chase. While we never had his point of view, this author has made it an art form to convey what the hero is feeling without ever giving us a word, thought, or action. This ability made me all the squirmier as Paige slowly begins to see Chase in a whole new light.
I admit I was reluctant to read about a “slacker hero, but Ms. Adams did a wonderful job of selling me on Chase. He was not a slacker by any means, but definitely laid back and I actually loved that about him. He was the perfect counterpoint to Paige.

I truly enjoyed this story. The angst is low, the steam is high, and the fun between this couple is pure perfection!

Theo was such a great heroine. She’s highly relatable and I loved that she started the little battle between her and Axel. I could totally see myself doing some of the things she did. Her disconnect from the holidays and Axel’s responding actions was heartwarming and the perfect thing to add to the overall holiday charm of this book.
Axel was absolutely gobsmackingly delicious! I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect hero for a holiday story. And having read all of this author’s previous works, I couldn’t help but place Axel in the small god category.
From the very beginning this story pulled me in and I was wrapped in all the feels of the Chicago winter. There was lots of engaging banter that had me smiling, the angst was low, and there was just enough steam to keep my cocoa warm.

I have loved all the couples in Whiskey Falls but Josie and Judge have just moved into first place. My heart ached for Josie even as I swooned over Judge’s care and concern for her. He’s so protective and yet he never crosses the line. They are a mature couple dealing with life issues and uncertainties. All the while their actions and reactions stirred an emotional response within me.

Filled with a touch of danger, a bit of drama, plenty of steam and a whole heaping of fun with family and friends, this is an excellent addition to my holiday reading!

I never thought I'd enjoy a grumpy heroine but I absolutely loved Elliana's disgruntlement towards all things Christmas. Especially because of Theo's determination to bring her Christmas cheer.
This is novella length but it has all that makes for a longer read and written in a way that I didn't feel short changed. Theo and Elliana were so much fun together. I loved how he had "murdery" reactions when his protective instincts kicked into overdrive regarding her.
Characters we've previously met were included and the overall feeling was one of a close knit family. There is plenty of steam but it doesn't consume the whole book. This is a perfect read to kick off the holidays.
