Equal parts beautiful and horrific, this puts a new spin on the biblical story of Jacobs daughter, Dinah. It definitely has its blasphemy, it’s thinly veiled stabs at the Israelites religious ways and customs, but I still loved it none the less because it bought the life the ancient traditions of womanhood using characters I’m familiar with from the bible. It made these characters not just stories or 2D characters, but real - living, breathing, loving. Ugh, it was absolutely amazing. ...more

Apart from the 20s lingo - which can be hard to follow, and the insta-love rosemary forms for Dick, this book is pure gold.
