it was very adorable which such cute, likable characters. a clean sports romance that didn’t do too much and was the perfect balance of love. i loved the character development and the writing style and i enjoyed how easy it was to get through! a super cute quick read. and the town gave major gilmore girls vibes!

chloe is randomly contacted by social services one day and finds out her birth mother, a recovering alcoholic, has suddenly given birth to a precious baby girl. in order for willow to not end up in foster care, chloe agrees to take custody of the baby to help give her a better life than she received herself. in order to get accepted, chloe is advised to participate in a pair up program which pairs her up with warren, a mechanic trying to get custody of his teenage brother.
this book is SO cute and honestly felt super refreshing to read. the dynamics between all of the characters were adorable and felt very real and natural and it wasn’t rushed. warren and chloe truly focused on willow and luke above everything else and their love was definitely a side effect of them being parents. i loved warren truly caring for willow and chloe truly caring for luke, they were a package rather than individuals which is super important in found family dynamics.

i genuinely do not even know how to write this review. when i first started this book, i was not understanding the hype at allll and almost dnf'd it but i am very glad i didn't. johnny & shan's story has SUBSTANCE but it is such a perfect story and very different from a lot of other YA high school romances. the book is pretty lengthy but with the tension of the slow burn, it is *chef's kiss*
nothing in the world prepared me for the heartbreak of shan's life and the kindness of johnny's soul. nothing prepared me for the emotions of this story, especially the ending???

without any spoilers: ophelia + adam are two journalists for opposite sectors of the same publishing company. adam is a travel guy, ophelia is a fashion gal. their worlds don’t mix and they don’t really like each other because of an incident at a company party. then they are forced to go on a trip together to try and save their jobs, even though adam is leaving the company anyway.

the legacy club is a club of elite, wealthy members of society. but as with most things, the club holds lots of secrets and the means to keep them hidden and covered up. each year at the grand legacy ball, one nominee is chosen as the winner for $25k, which is basically nothing for most nominees, but this year is different. the story follows the 6 nominations from one school during the week leading up to the legacy ball, switching between the events before and the perspective of what’s happening after the ball, where someone has mysteriously died. it also switches perspectives between bernie, isobel, and tori. bernie is a shoe in for the club - a well known name - a perfect girl who’s life has been handed to her. isobel is her best friend, and tori is the girl who doesn’t belong in their world.

they’re both two of my favorite characters in such different ways. ryan - closed off, to himself, afraid of love and connection. & indy - so full of light and color. so open to love and pure raw emotions. them together was perfect.

Fame, flights, love, dogs, family, friendships, mental health, and hockey - the perfect mix. The book is written incredibly well, showing a raw realistic love without the cringe and without forcing it on the characters. It has such a good balance of all the aspects including a little steaminess in a non overbearing way that doesn’t take away from the storyline....more
