I am not sure how I missed all the others but will make a point to go back and start at the beginning. This is a fantastic series.
The story begins with a ceiling that has collapsed with a dead body in a flat. The neighbor below calls it in, and Erika is first on the scene and finds that the flat has been thoroughly cleaned from the floor to all the belongings including the walls. There are some odd things that make Erica question the scene. One of which is the dead woman has no shoes anywhere in the flat. Another is the smell of bleach stands out is a clue there is something more to the scene of the crime.
Following the clues will lead them to a parcel locker on the wall of the property. However, forensics discover cocaine residue coating every surface of the ceiling. Erika calls in the drug dogs, which lead her to a mysterious parcel locker on the outside wall of the property. As they try to find the owner of the lockers, Erika will find herself staring into the eyes of Jerome Goodman, the drug dealer who murdered her husband, Mark, ten years ago, now going under another name. Erika will find herself challenged to prove she is correct when she is put on a pause of duty and works the case under the radar of her superiors. A supervisor has their eyes on Erica which will make her reach out to an old 'friend' but will that be the best decision or the worst mistake of her life.
This is a fantastic story that ties up the loose ends that we have wondered about. This thriller is fast paced and riveting as it gives Erica the chance to finally learn the truth of what happened to her husband and her team all those years ago. It was thrilling to see Erica relive one of the worst days of her life. Loved it!

Hez has been sober for one year and is ready to start the Justice Chamber mentoring law students. But he suspects that someone is determined to stop him.
This book is another fantastic book in the series. The book starts off slowly but picks up speed to a roaring conclusion. But not to worry, there is a third book in the works. I can't wait for the next ride to continue.

The book alternates between the past and the present. As is typical, after the sudden death of Pope John XXIV the cardinals are brought to the Vatican to form a conclave.
When the cardinals are locked inside, they are expected to have two votes that day. But time passes and no smoke appears from the smokestack, people begin to worry. They force their way inside to find all the cardinals allowed to vote are missing.
This thriller about the inner workings of the Catholic Church. The mystery itself was interesting and well researched. But I hoped for something a little more dramatic and with less revenge minded persons.

Courting the Duchess is the first book in the Spy Series.

I have to say I was very impressed by this book. This is not your typical book with lots of conversation or bantering back and forth. Of course there is conversation, but not as much as what you might enjoy in other books. I like to read conversations. For me they are often full of insight about the characters. In other books I admit to scrolling by the lengthy descriptiveness, which can often feel like filler.
This book, however, has long emotion filled information which is wonderfully written. While reading it you feel the characters emotions as the writer perfectly describes everything happening around and to them, which then leaves the conversation to be unnecessary. I loved the writing style as well as the characters. There is plenty of angst to be found in this story, but it is not always stated by the characters. It is in the writing, which is lovely, and fantastic. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

As always, this is a wonderful series written by many contributing authors. The series is well done and keeps the readers on their toes reading about the next couple that needs Mrs. dove-Lyon's help.
Lord Christopher Campbell has made many poor decisions due to him chasing the big one in the gambling dens. Each one lures him deeper into debt and no winning hand to solve his problems. He decides to take one last chance and then he will put the gambling behind him once and for all. We all know it is not as easy as that. Miss Whitney Watkins has lived a pampered life but has no suitors. She made a mistake and listened to sweet words that were empty and is now vilified after believing someone she thought loved her in return. Now she has one chance to find true happiness in a game of chance.
I loved this short story. My only complaint is it was not long enough. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to read more about this couple. This had about 144 pages. I normally stay away from them if they are under 275, while preferring over 300. The story sounded interesting and requested it. I am glad I did, but I would not mind seeing another one with these characters. I believe there is more to tell.

That is to say, it is not necessary to have read them all. but it is a well written series and so worth the time to read them all.
This one starts with a mother and her three children who are in hiding from a threat to their safety. Several years later a man buys a house to rehab and discovers something that make him believe there was a murder after finding two areas of concern.
Nikki hunt is called in to be a consultant when a teenage boy goes missing. The team wonders if he is the third one in the two missing boys or is this something else entirely.
The story starts out strong and builds in intensity until the case takes an unexpected turn. It does cover spousal abuse for those that need to be aware. But it is a fantastic story with great rewards at the end.
I hope this series keeps on going. I am not ready to see an end. With all the crime happening these days, the possibilities could be endless.

Mimi La Fleur has been forced by the circumstances of others to survive in ways others look as beneath them. Her parents and brother died long ago. With nowhere to turn, she found a man to care for her and became his mistress. On the day she was to marry him, she learns he has died and is faced with his despicable son who throws her out in the street, pregnant. she vows never to trust a man to care for her again. She turns to the only thing that will allow her to survive, sell her body.
One evening she comes upon a wealthy man being attacked and unable to defend himself due to being drunk. She manages to rescue him and takes him home and cares for him.
Alexander Ffortescue, fifth Duke of Sawbridge, causes the death of his best friend in an accident. As a result, he is shunned and ridiculed by all. He finds an unlikely ally in a doxy, where he finds comfort. Alexander will discover Mimi, is more than she appears. But will he see the truth and live up to the potential that Mimi inspires in him.
This story is very different from your typical Historical Romance. The writing is also different and superb as it sets the stage in the very first paragraph. It drew me in with its descriptive beginning which continued throughout the entire book. I was instantly reminded of another author who also wonderfully crafted her prose. The character of Mimi is strong because of all she has experienced. Alexander is your typical arrogant duke who knows nothing of life, not even how to dress himself thanks to the servants who cater to his every whim. Certainly nothing to be proud of as he soon is humbled to discover.
This is a wonderful story. It makes you feel their pain. At times it is dark, but you can't help but root for the couple to find their way to one another. I highly recommend it.

This was a very fast paced and (132 pages) short read. I enjoy the series, but was disappointed Mrs. Dove-Lyon role was minimized. Of course, the story is about Daire and Blanche, but we look forward to reading about Mrs. Dove Lyon.
Star crossed Daire and Blanche appear to be apart forever. Blanche wants her mystery man to give her a sign that he cares. Daire does not dare to show his feelings to the daughter of an enemy. An ill-advised marriage and an interruption by her father, causes Daire to rescue her by abducting her to safety. Time will tell whether it is safe to return and under what conditions can she expect from her father.
Still a fun story but would have preferred for it to be a longer book, and more of Mrs. Dove-Lyon.

The small town has had several mysterious deaths, all of which are not considered cold cases, but definitely are not cut and dry. Harper returns home after her marriage has ended. Her family home sits on an island connected by a bridge. For the locals that live there it is either a place of envy or the creepiest place ever. Soon after she arrives strange things begin to happen, and the bodies begin to multiply.
I have been a huge fan of Lisa Jackson and have been following her for years. The stories are always wonderfully written. They can be a little lengthy, (592 pages print version) but with all the characters, it takes time to weave them all together for a satisfying ending. This book was no different. Harper appears to be at the heart of all the mysterious deaths which escalate once she returns home. Nothing is as it seems, which allows the book to have the shocking ending we have come to love.

This leaves five more to go with Patience being next to make her debut this season. As usual nothing goes according to plan in this madcap entertaining family of very different personalities.
Patience is anything but patient. She is able to quickly plan and choose without much deliberation. But when she meets "the one," she is taken aback by his needing to be sure about his choices. She mistakes this for his uninterest, but he is anything but uninterested. What follows next is a humorous entertaining adventure to the alter.
