River Savage is a 1-Click author for me. Hands down I have devoured and relished every book of hers thus far. When I saw that she had a SWAT Team series starting my Kindle heart skipped a beat and there may have been a celebratory fist pump.... Now, sometimes I have been disappointed when reading a much anticipated book. All the grand expectations in your head are not matched on the pages. Also, the first book in the series carries a huge responsibility for setting up all the characters and dynamics plus plots and drama for subsequent novels in that group. Did Ms Savage let me down? Nope. Did Ms Savage knock this one out of the ball park? Hell, yeah she did. And then some. I was captivated by this book and these characters from the very start. The SWAT Team guys are a diverse and intriguing group and I am itching for more on these gorgeous men. Hetch - Liam Hetcherson- is a layered, commanding, complex, cocky, alpha badass / good guy hero. Initially he comes across as a superficial player but there is so much going on underneath the surface. Liberty is a well written heroine. Her strengths and vulnerabilities are beautifully displayed. Do they both resist love? Yes they do but each of them had their valid reasons. The secondary characters are outstanding in this book. Payton, Mitch, all the SWAT guys, Kota....I want a book for everyone! Please. Pretty please with sugar on the top. Highly recommended for anyone who loves an Alpha hero and sassy heroine. Lots of sexy stuff and a really good plot that had twists I DID NOT see coming. This dips into quite dark themes at times but it all makes for a solid 5 star read.

I did enjoy this book but I didn't feel a substantial connection to the main couple. I read some reviews that chastised the hero because of his feelings towards his first love but I didn't feel that way. Cotton IS loyal to Cassidy. He doesn't cheat. He acknowledges how he used to feel for Sara but I never once felt there was any significant present emotion. He is totally in love with Cass and that shines through. There is some drama, some passion and it left me really wanting to read Clutch's book. So, this was an enjoyable enough book but not one of my favourites....more

4.5 Nate and Ember Stars
I still rate Corps Security as one of my favourite series. This spin off, featuring the now adult children of the Corps guys, is just as fab. If you want a loyal, HOT, sweet and totally alpha hero mixed in with a likeable heroine, plus gorgeous family dynamics and minimal angst, then read this book The formula has been done before and many elements of this book run through others in both series' , but they are well written novels that suck you in from the start. I find myself helplessly addicted to Harper's style of storytelling. Nate and Ember are so good together-- the path to true love is a little bit bumpy but these two are solid. This book is high on passion and low in angst. Loved it!
Updated review April 2023
Potential Spoilers for Corps Security Books.
I am on a re read mission at the moment since Harper released The Long Way Home which is part of the Corps security series. The Hope Town series is the spin off of the original Corps books and this one is about Nate (27) , eldest son of Izzy and Axel Reid (Axel) and Emberlyn (20/21) , youngest daughter of Maddox and Emmy Locke (Locke). I listened to it this time round - great narration by Joe Arden and Shirl Rae. I think my tastes have changed a little over the years. I still really enjoyed going back to this book but if I was rating it now , it would likely be closer to a four star read for me. I was a bit distracted by Nate being so obsessed with his own equipment. He was forever getting himself off and thinking about how to relieve his pent up tension by himself. There was a lot of sex in the book- more than I remembered and it took away from the plot a bit. (It's very rare for me to think that - I love a good dose of passion in my books but I found myself skipping bits). Still enjoyable but the original Corps Crew will always be my favourite. HEA? Yes! Fabulous. Cheating? No - there is a tiny overlap of Ember kissing Nate when she was still with her boyfriend but she was about to break up with him and had not been invested in that relationship for a while. She broke up with bf very shortly after. ...more

I had been itching for thisThis is a gorgeous , well written, low angst , high passion , sexy second chance romance. Fabulous book. Fantastic series. I had been itching for this book to come out. Aurora is one of my favourite authors. She is an automatic one click writer for me. This book surpassed my already rather lofty expectations. This story centers on June ( Asher and November's daughter) and her gorgeous ex husband Evan. I loved the fact that previously they had married and she never told her family. They are an intense bunch (in a really good way) and I thought it helped towards showing June very much in her own light that she kept that to herself. She doesn't live in their pockets, she is very private, loyal, sweet and stubborn yet they all still protect her and close the circle round her when she needs it. So, although all the fantastic characters we have met before are in the novel , they never overshadow Evan and June's story. Evan is such an Alpha male but he is incredibly vulnerable also. He adores her and realises he made a huge mistake before when he broke up with her but he truly was fighting his own demons. I would recommend reading at least Until July before this one, although you could read Until June as a standalone I think you would follow the subtle character nuances and dynamics if you had more background. The Until Series is one of the best I have read and Until Her & Until Him books are easily equal to it. I would recommend over 18's only due to sexual content and swearing. This book is HOT. The things that man says.....*fans self* I am so looking forward to more.

I loved this book. It hooked me in from the start and I couldn't put it down.
Brady finds himself suddenly in charge of sorting out his brothers business and home after he dies suddenly- but more than that, Brady is now the guardian for his baby niece, Izzy. Kat had been a close friend of Brady's brother and sister in law and was working / living on the farm..She also knows and adores Izzy, so despite the fact both she and Brady are heartbroken, she has to show him the ropes of how to care for a baby.
One of the things I loved about these two is that I felt their connection right from the start and I absolutely believed that they would have fallen in love whatever circumstances they met in.
This book is a perfect blend of emotions . It could be desperately sad, and it does have some heartbreaking parts, but it balances with humour and love plus some intensely sexy chemistry. Kat and Brady have a beautiful connection and there is such a tenderness between them. They are both incredibly loyal & both have been through traumatic experiences.
Re read via audible in September 2022 . Excellent narration by Stephen Dexter & Brooke Bloomingdale. Listening time 9hrs 33mins. I still love this book. It has passion , humour and is fairly low angst if you need a book with not too much OW/OM drama.

The Saints series is a spin off from the Alvarez Security series and again centres around a hot alpha guy who falls hard for a sweet but strong girl. She ends up in danger and he rescues her.
Has this storyline been done before? Yes. Lots. Some do not do it well but Ms Jordan does it beautifully. She is very good at drawing on the dynamics between these guys that work so closely together. If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley then this author is likely to appeal to you. This book also had the dark theme of a serial murderer who rapes and mutilated his victims but there are no graphic rape scenes.

This spin off from the Stage Dive series, this is the second Dive Bar book and it focuses on Joe and Alex...although it starts off with Alex thinking she is meeting Eric, Joe's brother. That mistake is soon rectified but some damage has already been done.
Joe is shocked to meet Alex and she is horrified that she has been duped by Joe into thinking that she has been talking to Eric for months. Based on appearances Eric is far more her type ... or so she thought. It doesn't take long for her to realise that Joe may be her type after all.
I really liked Alex . She was fragile in some ways but I admired her determination to push herself (and Joe). Watching her gain confidence and grow as a character was awesome and I was cheering loudly for her from the side lines.
At first I liked Joe very much. He was sweet and caring and gorgeous and quite frankly he was ticking all the boxes. Then the book took a twist (no pun intended) and quite frankly I wanted to kick him in his boxes!!! I found it hard to accept that he went from being so caring and lovely to suddenly being prepared to step away. I wanted him to stand up for Alex more. He did redeem himself but that was why this didn't quite hit 5 stars. Very close though.
A great read and lovely to catch up with the Bar and Group gang.

(Made me laugh so hard I snorted in a most unfetching manner) I knew it would be sexy.....Is it hot in here??? I hoped I would love it.....Yep. More than loved Eilish and Bryan's story.
The whole series has been up there in the echelons of my favourite books because the stories are so well written , charming, funny, sexy and enjoyable. Each can be read as a standalone but you're missing out if you don't read the others.
Eilish is an absolutely cracking heroine. Her vulnerability made my heart ache for her but I loved that she had such strength too. Bryan...oh Bryan. He was very charming and likeable and his honesty is refreshing. They are both quite quirky and I found myself laughing out loud at some of their interactions.
The secondary characters are strong in this story. Sean, cousin of Eilish and Bryan's team mate, is adorable. So loyal and comical. His story is The Player and The Pixie but he truly shines in this book too. Patrick is just the sweetest little boy - I always think it is tricky to write children's characters in adult books - they can come across as too saccharine at times - but Patrick is adorable and endearing.
Gorgeous, solid 5 star read. Emotional at times -I actually found myself doing a cheer out loud for Eilish at one point...my own little 'GO GIRL' moment! If you want a funny, sexy read that will poke you in the heart now and then, read this book. If you are a tad obsessed with rugby, read this book. Even if you know nothing about rugby, who wouldn't want to read a gorgeous love story?

You have to read this book!!!! It is funny, sweet, hot, heartstring pulling, feel good, entertaining, swoon inducing, captivating and memorable. Ian was supposed to be a big shot NFL star but life threw him a curveball and he found himself still in college with his best friend Lex ( who is hilarious and hopefully is who the next book is all about) . The two guys set up a business to be wingmen to women in college who are invisible to the men they want. Ian and Lex help the women get themselves on the radar of the object of their affections. There are rules....key ones being , NEVER sleep with a client and NEVER fall in love with one either. It is very much a business. Blake starts college, moves in with Ian's friend Gabi and she requests the services of Wingmen Inc. Blake wants the guy she grew up with to see her. They are both at the same college and he has only ever seen her as a buddy. One of the boys. A tomboyish girl from home. Ian helps her get noticed. But what happens when Ian also starts to notice that Blake is most certainly all girl? This is such a well written book. It's got characters that capture you from the start. Ian is cocky but likeable. He reminded me of Drew from Tangled / Brent from Appealed - he has many of their traits but he is very much his own character and certainly makes his mark as the new hero on the block. He stole my Kindle heart for sure. Blake is a superb heroine. I loved watching her develop and grow as a character. Lex and Gabi are great secondary characters too. In fact, I think I'm going to enjoy this series even more than the Stage Dive one that came before - and that was already a firm favourite. In this book the characters and dynamics are laid out really well for the future novels. It also brings back some of the Stage Dive guys which was great. The humour and fun shines through the whole story but there as darker moments here and there. The two main characters are Vaughan and Lydia. Lydia has just experienced the most humiliating day off her life.....and it really was a doozy. She is , without a doubt , one of the best, most likeable and funniest heroine's I have ever read. I adored her. The way she deals with all the stuff that happens is just awesome. And as for Vaughan, he was gorgeous and flawed and at times I wanted to slap him and at others I wanted to hug him. At all times I was rooting for these two. The secondary characters didn't feel secondary- they felt just as important as the H/h. This is a fast moving book. It captures you straight away and is one of those stories you find popping into your head when you're at work. Is it a bit instalove? Yes but it works. HEA? It's a gorgeous ending and more of a happy for now.....I can't wait for the other characters books so that I can catch up with Lydia & Vaughan. Definitely one of my top reads of the year....more

Each book focuses on a different couple and there are lots of opportunities to catch up with previous characters. Benji was gorgeous as a hero but Lucy spent so much time crying , it became a bit too much. I was eagerly anticipating this sequel which tells us the story of Lucy (Ronan's little sister) and Sean Cassidy. Ah yes.....Sean Cassidy....arrogant, aloof, asshole. Or so I thought. To be fair, he was not portrayed well in Ronan's book. I have every faith in Penny Reid & L.H.Cosway to write a really good novel with solid characters that you can't help but love, but even my blind faith in them waivered a bit as I could not see how Sean Cassidy could ever redeem himself. Then I read the first chapter and REALLY thought it was never going to be possible. But slowly this beautiful blond hero worked his way into my Kindle heart and then he OWNED it. His vulnerability is heartbreaking. His backstory is heartbreaking. His sweetness and witty observations all wrapped up in a dry sense of humour is awesome. Well.....that was truly a reading experience. This book made me feel such emotion. In places it made my heart race and in others it made me cry. Really cry. I loved this book with a passion. It hooked me from the start and my Kindle heart fell in love with Logan Francis Silverstone, right alongside Alyssa Marie Walters' . I would defy anyone to read the prologue and not feel like you wanted the very best for both of them. You are compelled to root for High and Lo from the start.. Their friendship is developed fantastically and the bond they have is just gorgeous to watch grow. The first part of the book there is sweetness and naivety right alongside a menacing and malevolent darkness that haunts Logan and the cold detachment that has scarred High. High (Alyssa) is a glass half full type of girl. She is in my top ten heroines list for sure. Ms Cherry absolutely nailed it with her character because it would have been easy to slip and make her look like a doormat. She was forgiving and loyal and she loved Logan with every fibre of her being but this girl was straight shooting and her pragmatism and honesty balanced out perfectly with her gentle side. It helped when she dished out some sass too! As for Logan... oh my goodness. Logan will make you smile, swoon, grit your teeth, cry, want to throw your Kindle, want to protect him and make you want to reach in and hug him. Damn, this boy just about finished me off. He is loyal, lost, defiant, angry, funny, sweet and a glass half empty kind of guy. The secondary characters are beautifully written and crafted and this story took turns that had my jaw dropping. It is standalone. It has an HEA. No cliffie thank God. Go into it as blind as possible and just roll with the beautifully brutal story that is Logan and Alyssa' s novel.

Well. I'm emotionally wiped. This book will take your heart and make it HURT. It has some excellent light moments too. Karina Halle has the perfect blend of light and dark in this novel. The core of the story has the potential to lead it down a melancholy path but she never makes you go there. Just when you think the grief is going to overwhelm things, she pulls it back and balances it beautifully with witty banter, humour and deep enduring love that just takes your breath away. The burning passion between Tasha and Brigs is palpable. The pages practically shimmer with all that sexual tension bubbling away just under the surface. Brigs was a rather prickly, brittle character in the previous book. I was itching to read his story. I think the absolute agony he endured makes it entirely understandable that he behaved the way he did. Natasha is a very real heroine. It would be easy to dislike her because, fundamentally she is the 'other woman'. Equally, Brigs could be on the outs even before you begin because he wanted to leave his wife for another woman. But his marriage was cold. His wife resisted his attempts to improve their connection - and that connection was broken long before he met Tasha. It must be hard to live in a loveless marriage. To just exist must be soul destroying. Suddenly, Brigs found someone who was vibrant, warm, interesting and interested in him. They are emotionally intimate but they don't cross that line until Brigs tells his wife Miranda that he wants to divorce....and not even then because that is when hell unleashes on Brigs and Natasha. I never thought I would enjoy a book with these relationship dynamics but I relished every single page. All credit to the author's writing skills for sure. The story is told in dual pov with the occasional flashback. The chapter where Natasha receives the phone call from Brigs, telling her about the accident is brutal. What he says is so harsh it feels like it punches you in the stomach. Equally, some parts of the story will make you laugh out loud. However, at about 73% in I cried. Not a snivel. Not a tear or two. I'm talking full on , snotty, ugly crying. It's very , very rare for me to do that. This can be read as a standalone. But why would you not want to read the other books? They are all fabulous. And I think Natasha and Brigs have left a special mark on my Kindle heart. ...more

Reese is strong emotionally and underneath the quiet surface there is some seriously turbulent passion and Maverick is just the man to unleash it. Hell, is he ever!
