I have been waiting for this book forever & was so excited to see that it had been released. Each of the Lucas siblings has had quite the story to tell and Green Lucas was no different. A sportsman at the end of his career is about to cross paths with a much younger woman who just might be the one he's been looking for. There is some angst , lots of fun and moments that make you want to slap the Hero. And ultimately , there's a love story.
Green's Mum , Ida Sue , is one of the most endearing, funniest and entertaining secondary characters ever written in contemporary romance IMO and she absolutely knocked it out of the ball park in this book -no pun intended , Green plays professional baseball =0). The rest of the siblings contribute hugely too.
As a Hero, Green stirred some surprising feelings in me. He was quite naive about people at times despite the fact he is 35. He wasn't the man whore I was expecting him to be but he was infuriating at times with how he treated Kage. I found myself yo yo'ing with how much I liked him / wanted to knock him upside the head for his idiocy. He seemed kind of selfish too but he does have some redeeming features and there are times he is lovely.
Kage is a 19 year old who falls hard for Green when she meets him and ends up in his bed until she is very unceremoniously kicked out by one of his team in the morning. Ouch. That scene definitely garners the reader's sympathy for the heroine. She is very likeable and her loyalty to her foster brother Russ is admirable. She is a warrior when it comes to protecting those closest to her. I'm glad she stood up to Green and at the point of conflict I was truly cheering for our girl. I would have liked him to grovel a little more though for her forgiveness.
So, why not 5 stars? The OW drama irritated me. It was necessary for the conflict to work but the naivety of Green was annoying , plus he flat out lied. He did redeem himself eventually though.
The Lucas's are crazy but it was great fun to be back in their world and catch up with previous characters. Definitely a book to brighten up dark days.

I had been eagerly anticipating this latest instalment in the Arizona Vengeance Series and it lived up to my expectations. I had been disappointed with Dominik and Willow's story which is the previous book but Aaron has reaffirmed my love for the Arizona men.
Aaron (Wylde) is THE playboy of the Vengeance. He is gorgeous , he knows it and he loves the attention he gets from the ladies. He is the centre of female attention when the boys go out to party. The Vengeance have had a hugely successful season and now it's time to relax. Aaron still maintains his fitness and is running past Clarke's bookstore when she catches his eye....and the game is on.
Clarke does not fall at his feet. She has no clue who he is and is not impressed with his moves. Meanwhile Aaron is doing everything he can to stay in the store as long as possible because he is hugely attracted to Clarke.
The dude is definitely weird. “I’ll go ahead and get this rung up— “Another wedding, he blurts out, then slaps his forehead as if he’d just remembered something critical to life on earth. “I actually have another wedding weekend after this, and I’ll need a gift for that. And come to think of it, one in July, too. So I’ll need two more. “Oh okay, I murmur, setting the wrapped wine opener on the counter and moving out from behind it. Dude is totally weird.
Clarke has issues around trust and I thought her backstory was well done. She slowly warms up to Aaron and I really liked that he didn't push her. They both had to take a leap of faith to risk their hearts and it was adorable to see them falling for each other.
“You have baggage, and I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. This is probably fated for disaster. But I like you, Clarke. I want to get to know you better."
This is book seven in the series but you could read it as a standalone. There are little recounts of each couple's story as you weave through Wylde. I did miss the hockey action as this is all set in the off season but I was thoroughly swept up in the romance and passion of the story so it wasn't until the end that I realised there had been no hockey matches. Great secondary characters and good set ups for upcoming books , Kane and Steele but I really , really want Baden's book - I hope he gets one.

This book is the first in a series and it sets the story well for the books that follow. Londyn grew up fast when she found a safe place in a junkyard and a friend when she was a kid. For a while her and her friend Karson lived with four other people in the junkyard , all runaways , all escaping terrible childhoods and finding a sense of belonging with each other. Karson and Londyn shared the dilapidated Cadillac. And then life moved on and Londyn and two of her friends left. She married into money and during that time she found the Cadillac again and had it restored to its former 1964 DeVille convertible glory.
When her marriage breaks up , Londyn does what many of us have probably dreamed of...she gets in a beautiful kick ass car and drives away. Her plan is to go to California to give the car to Karson but fate diverts her to Summers, West Virginia and the mechanical (and other) skills of one, rather dreamy , Brooks Cohen.
Devney Perry writes absolutely beautiful stories in my opinion. I love her style and this is no exception. This book is packed with small town charm, characters with depth and a Hero and heroine that you can't help but love. There's a little angst and a lot of heat. Passions simmer and sizzle until these two can't resist the pull anymore.
"His hair was disheveled from where I'd had it between my fingers. Twilight danced around us and the fading light brought out the darker blue striations in his eyes. He'd gone from gorgeous to fucking magnificent."
The novel leads nicely into book two Wild Highway , which focuses on a different couple. I'm all in for this series.
I have enjoyed every book in this series and couldn't wait to finally get Logan and Joey's story. It was even better than I had 5 Joey and Logan Stars
I have enjoyed every book in this series and couldn't wait to finally get Logan and Joey's story. It was even better than I had anticipated. If you are a fan of the friends to lovers trope , then you should try this gorgeous book.
Joey (22) has adored Logan (26) since she was 8 years old and he rescued her from a well that she fell down. Logan used to be best friend's with Joey's big brother Silas and so Joey was always off limits romantically but she was his best friend until she suddenly left six months prior to the start of the book. Logan doesn't understand why she went and he is miserable the whole time she is gone.
When she has to return for a wedding, he is determined to find out why Joey left so unexpectedly and soon he realises how much he wants his girl to stay. But, Logan is keeping some deep secrets and when they are revealed people are going to be hurt.
Fans of small town romances, friends to lovers and all round fabulous writing should grab this book with both hands. The characters are well written and out of all the Heroes in this series, Logan is my favourite. His loyalty, humour , mischievous nature and the way he puts his family above all else makes for a gorgeous character. Plus he's H.O.T.
Watching him realise he was in love with Joey was adorable. She was no longer the kid with pigtails, she was all grown up....
Damn. The girl next door has got it going on.

There is drama, humour , a couple of unexpected twists and the plot held my interest. I was invested from start to finish and really didn't want the story to end.

I can't believe that I have had this book sat on my TBR and somehow hadn't read it. I loved the firstBeyond 5 Tori and Ethan Stars
Original 2020 Review
I can't believe that I have had this book sat on my TBR and somehow hadn't read it. I loved the first book Shameless about Brady and Kat and this novel connects with that - it is about Tori, Kat's younger sister - but can easily be read as a standalone.
Tori has been through a hellish end to a relationship and now that that has finished and Kat is nearing the end of her pregnancy, Tori agrees to move closer and takes a job as a Nanny for the children one of Kat and Brady's friends, Ethan, who owns a local ranch where they train Cutting Horses. Ethan is in the middle of a nasty divorce and the problems keep piling up around him.
As a Hero, I really liked Ethan. He messes up on occasion but he is a gorgeous, loyal and kind guy. He falls hard for Tori but there are all sorts of potential obstacles in their way. His children, Mila and Cody are the cutest -I think it is incredibly difficult to write endearing child characters in romance books but Ms Martin gets it spot on in this story.
As a heroine, Tori ticks every box. She is funny, a bit quirky, loyal to a fault and so very, very loveable. She is a straight talker and doesn't sugarcoat stuff but she is inherently kind and a good person - albeit with a delightful dose of snark. I wanted to protect her from the toxic people that tried to bring her down. I was cheering for her, crying for her and felt indignant on her behalf. I am 100% Team Tori.
This book has sashayed it's way into my Top Reads of 2020 and beyond. It's passionately hot- the chemistry between Ethan and Tori is scorching. It builds beautifully and simmers away until finally neither of them can resist any longer. The secondary characters are brilliantly written and add a richness to the story and the H/h's character development. Add in some humour, a dose of drama and a couple of baddies I loved to hate and you have yourself a five star read.
I loved re reading this book via audible. Excellent narration by Savannah Peachwood and Stephen Dexter. This is such a good series and definitely on my go-to re read books.

My musical muses for this book are Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs and Wilder Days by Morgan Wade.
She’s a tornado, and half the time I don’t know what to do with her, but I still want to get caught up in her vortex.
This third standalone book in the 'All In' Series is a true Opposites Attract romance. Rumour has it you should look out for the quiet guys and Ryan Kingston certainly packs a few surprises.
Queenie and King meet and hook up for one night , which is uncharacteristic for both of them. Fate intervenes and they end up meeting under very different circumstances six weeks later. When they realise who each other are , they also realise that they cannot be together. King is the goalie for Seattle's Ice Hockey Team and Queenie's dad is the GM and she is also her Dad's assistant so protocol dictates that these two should not have a relationship but the heart wants what the heart wants and this King wants his Queen...rules be damned.
On the outside , King is a milk drinking, khakis wearing good guy. Always the peacekeeper, always impeccably behaved but behind closed doors, Queenie discovers Ryan has some serious moves and all that passion is bubbling just under the surface.
"I took the Boy Scout out of the polo and unleashed a very dirty man."
King is an interesting Hero and not one I would normally gravitate to - I like an edgier Hero but Ryan really grew on me. His unwavering loyalty and his inherent kindness gave my kindle heart lots of squeezes. Plus...the man is pretty hot , he just needed a woman like Queenie to make him open up. He needed a shove in the right direction and the chemistry between these two is pretty much crackling off of the page.
“Lock the Boy Scout in the closet and let yourself off your leash, King.
Queenie is an excellent heroine. She wasn't badass , which was what I was expecting from the blurb. She was incredibly likeable and I really felt for her. She has had significant challenges and she does everything she can to overcome them. I loved the relationship between her and her Dad, Jake. (BTW, please let there be a book somewhere for Jake....) She is definitely the opposite of Ryan in many ways but at heart they are both loyal, kind and good people. She is artistic and messy whilst he is neat, orderly and drives under the speed limit. He knocks back milk. She shoots back White Russians. He needs someone to unleash the passion and she's the woman to do it.
I was not as keen on King's family - especially his Mum. I liked Hanna very much and she was an interesting character. His brother and Mum were not so endearing. A lot of the rule obeying from King stems from the childhood expectations of his family and even though he's all grown up , his Mum still sees him as a boy.
“Are you going through a rebellious phase?
“I’m thirty. I make seven million dollars a year, I live in a house that’s totally paid for, and I drive a Volvo. No, Mom, I’m not going through a rebellious phase.
Overall this was a really enjoyable story that had romance , passion , comedy and some angst. It pulled my heart strings and left me smiling and feeling happy.

I loved this book the first time I read it in 2014. I have re read it multiple times since then and sometimes I just dip into it to read parts I've highlighted when I need a 'comfort' read to break a reading slump. Asher Mayson is the perfect alpha hero. Loyal, hot , passionate and protective , he ticks all the boxes. November is an awesome heroine. She is sweet, strong and funny plus she doesn't take any nonsense from our brooding hero. The story is interesting and kept my attention but ultimately this is a very character driven story and I relished every page.
So, if alpha Heroes , feisty heroines and rather adorable canines are your kindle catnip , I highly recommend you read Until November.

I am enjoying the next generation of the Nashville Assassins and this story about Posey and Boon grabbed my attention from the s4 Posey and Boon Stars
I am enjoying the next generation of the Nashville Assassins and this story about Posey and Boon grabbed my attention from the start. Posey is the second daughter of Elli and Shay Adler. She feels very much as if she has lived in the shadow of her older Sister , Shelli. Shelli is the outgoing , driven and confident sister who everyone adores and Posey has often been overlooked - or rather eclipsed - by her. At the start of the story Posey has run off to declare her love for someone who she thought felt the same way for her. That chapter is so well written - my heart ached for Posey. She comes away crushed and I really felt for her. Boon is a member of the Assassins Hockey Team. He has split from his fiancée who has more than moved on in the year since they separated. Similarly to Posey, Boon thought he had found 'the one'. I was surprised at Boon's character as I initially thought he was very confident and full of swagger. In actual fact he worries a lot. He isn't as confident on the ice as some of his teammates. Posey knows hockey inside and out and she is newly employed as the Special Teams coach. For as lacking in self confidence as she is in most areas , she absolutely kicks ass when it comes to hockey. Both Boon and Posey are quite curious characters and they are similar in many ways. They both need to build their self confidence in many areas and both seem afraid to trust in the how the other is feeling. I liked watching the both fall hard for each other. They are both incredibly loyal and I was practically cheering in one scene in particular where Posey meets Boon's Mum. Posey Rose Adler takes no prisoners and it takes her some time to see it but she shines just as brightly , if not more than, her sister.
So why not 5 stars? The whole body image aspect of Posey's character felt a little bit too much at times and detracted a bit from the main story in my opinion . I would have liked to see them improve their self confidence a bit earlier in the story. Also, there were lots of comparisons from Boon's POV when he would think about his ex. He was very much over her and I didn't want any of his head real estate being wasted on his awful ex.
I thought this was a really enjoyable book. I loved the humour , the romance and how these two fell so hard for each other. I am a sucker for an ice hockey romance and Ms Aleo delivers great characters and stories every time. I am so looking forward to more from the Next Generation.

I've had this series on my Kindle for a while and I'm not entirely sure why I haven't read it before now. I have read (and loved) a lot of Devney Perry / Willa Nash books of late and she hasn't let me down yet. I was browsing through my TBR and thought I'd start Gypsy King. Best decision of 2021 so far!
Bryce is the new reporter in town , working with her Dad who owns the local paper. She has left behind a career in TV and returned to what she loves the most - journalism. Her first big break comes about when she overhears information about a murder and it leads her straight to the former MC , The Tin Gypsies. Former President , Draven Slater is in trouble with the law and his son , Dash Slater , doesn't believe his Dad is guilty. Bryce is sure he is....until more information and events come to light. Bryce and Dash go from enemies to hot sex then back to enemies. They manage to outdo each other and Dash is definitely the one who struggles with his feelings more. He is hellbent on not falling for a woman but despite his best efforts , he cannot stay away from Bryce.
There are lots of plot twists and turns and the mystery about the town murderer is not solved in this book. People are keeping secrets , past actions are being exposed and danger lurks at every turn. I'm not usually a big fan of suspense in my romance books but this one consumed me , hook , line and sinker. I have gone straight into the second book , Riven Knight. I listened and read - fantastic narration by Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson.

I love this series so much. Brenda Rothert is a 'go to ' author for me and I always look forward to any new release that she brings out. Knox did not disappoint - he really is pretty much the perfect Hero and I really wanted to lose myself in the pages of a book where the Hero would not let me down.
Knox is the enforcer for the Chicago Blaze - he is the epitome of the dark, brooding alpha but I was surprised at how sweet he was under that tough exterior.
Reese is a really well written heroine - she is jilted horribly at the altar at the start of the book so I could understand her skittishness around Knox and relationships at the beginning.
I look out the passenger side window at the bright June day, all sunshine and possibility. It doesn’t feel like the kind of day your heart gets stomped on in front of two hundred and eighty-six well-dressed onlookers.
She needed time alone and so after their initial connection they are apart for fourteen months.
“I’m nowhere close to ready to date, even if it’s just a long distance flirtationship. “Flirtationship? He quirks a brow. “Yeah. That’s what we have happening now, isn’t it? “Call it what you want. I just know it feels pretty damn good.
Together these two work so well. Plus there are the fantastic secondary characters - I am a die hard Chicago Blaze fan. Every single character brings something to the table and they all interact so well. The camaraderie between the players shines through.
This can easily be read as a standalone but you are missing out big time if you don't read the other books.

May 2020 My Aurora Rose Reynolds re-readathon via audible is well underway. I read this book in 2016. Have re read it a couple of times because it’s enjoyable, sexy, has some drama and a totally alpha Hero. Then I decided to listen to Sebastian York & Lidia Dornet narrate it as a little lockdown treat to myself. Perfect escapism. Is Sven , our rich, hot Vegas club owner, a little over the top? Yes. Yes he is and I love it. Maggie is a gorgeous heroine who keeps Sven on his toes. When Maggie's sister Morgan ends up hurt after being at Sven's nightclub , Maggie sets out to put an end to this happening to any other girl. Initially Sven finds her highly irritating - hot , but irritating.

Eventually though , the playboy of Vegas falls hard for the gorgeous , determined girl who is hell bent on getting answers. They both end up in danger and the plot moves quickly.
I loved both Maggie and Sven. They go perfectly together and this book remains one of my 'go to' comfort reads.
Each of the books in this series is easily read as a standalone.
Re read / listened to in Oct 2021. This book is one of my most favourites by ARR. Along with Until November it's one of my go to books. Nothing quite like a hot alpha hero and a kick ass heroine. It's still 5 sparkling , glorious stars.

Helena Hunting's books are like Kindle catnip to me. The problem when you hold an author in very high esteem is that your expectation is higher than for many other writer’s books. For me , this novel ticked all the boxes and then some. I. LOVED. IT.
Bishop is such a well written Hero. He starts off very grumpy and constantly puts his foot in his mouth. He's rude and surly - you can kind of understand why but I winced with a few of the verbal low shots that he took. Stevie more than held her ground against him. She's pretty tough when needed but I liked that she had a sweet vulnerability underneath and she was always honest with Bishop, in fact both of them were very straight talking and it was really refreshing to read.
“Look, sweet cheeks, I don’t know what you’ve been snorting or mainlining or whatever, but there’s no way you’re getting in there without a code. And even if you do, I’m gonna go ahead and say that this whole shitshow”—he points to his face and motions toward me—“is one hell of a boner-killer, so stop embarrassing yourself and take your broke-down ass back the way you came.
Stevie is a physiotherapist specialising in Sports rehab. She is also R.J's younger sister. It's not always easy living in the shadow of your famous NHL playing brother.
I love the hell out of my brother, but it sure can be frustrating to be his solidly average sister.
R.J. (Rook Bowman) is our Hero from Lie For A Lie. He doesn't always come across so well in this book - he acts like a pompous idiot on occasion - but I loved the bond that he had with his Sister and there is a scene where they have a long chat and that pretty much brought a lump to my throat. Bishop and R.J. have a hostile relationship and that makes for some big clashes.
Stevie is having the day from Hell and her brother lets her stay at his Penthouse apartment when her circumstances take an unexpected turn. His neighbour is Bishop. Their first meeting is....tense and interesting. Bishop ends up needing Stevie's help when he has an awful injury and so their connection grows.
There are some great secondary characters in this book. As mentioned, Stevie and R.J. have a sweet bond but I also loved Bishop and his brother Nolan's relationship. Bishop worries about everyone - for all his gruffness and snarky moments , he worries terribly about his little brother. He is loyal to the nth degree and also always put his Team first rather than his personal glory. R.J. and Alex (Alex Waters from Pucked, now Coach) annoyed me a bit - I didn't like how they treated my darling Shippy!
I highly recommend this book if you enjoys a feisty romance with a sweet soul to it. Both the Hero and heroine are so lovable and the chemistry between them shimmers off of the pages. They don't seal the deal til quite late in the book but oh my word....the build up is pretty hot.
Bishop is a lot of things: sarcastic, assholey, determined, hotheaded, and a mammoth of a man. But his kiss is all the other parts of him I’ve gotten glimpses of over the past several weeks: sweet, gentle, soft. At first, anyway.
HEA? Yes. Left me beaming from ear to ear. (Doesn't go too far ahead in time , but it works) Cheating? No. Our H/h both very loyal.
I'm not sure if it's intentional - maybe I have missed something really obvious - but I love the chess theme - R.J. is Rook. Then we have Bishop. Finally , book 3 is going to be about King (Kingston). I cannot wait to read our strait laced boy's story.....It's always those quiet ones.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down once I started. Sabrina is a great heroine and I thought her character developed brilliantly. She finds her backbone and her inner strength shines through. For me though , it was our hero , Beau who made the book. He is in my Hero Hall of Fame bookshelf. Beau is a quiet , brooding type of man but OMG, those still waters run deep. He is protective and loyal with a very dry sense of humour. And this man is sexy. I'm talking H.O.T. But for all the steamy stuff , the actual romance shines through. This book broke my heart a little in places but it absolutely mended it too.
There is quite a lengthy separation between them later in the book but it works well in the story. Great secondary characters too. I loved the description in this novel - it felt like I was right there in the mountains with them.
"You belong right here." He held out his arms, making a circle in the space between them. "You belong with me. Right here. No matter where we live, whether it's Montana , Seattle or Timbuktu, this is where you belong."

Blake O'Callaghan just stole a piece of my kindle heart and I don't think I am getting it back any time soon. Oh my goodness Mrs Jones Lake , you put me through the emotional roller coaster with this story and I loved every minute.
Heidi and Murphy have taken a long and at times really difficult road to get to their happy ending and just when it seems in sight trouble comes knocking at their door. You have to have read previous books to really follow this story. There are a lot of characters emerging in this book who are clearly going to be important in the future. The Lost Kings are going through a lot of change and the club is rolling with it but equally that camaraderie is still there and it was great to see all the LOKI guys and women that make the LOKI world so addictive to a reader. I am itching to read more.
There is some violence in this book but it is not as dark and gritty as some M.C. reads. AJL writes romance like no other and this book was brimming with it. Heidi really blossomed in this story - the girl is badass and loyal to the nth degree and I have to say there is one scene where she had me in tears with the words she had to say about her 'Uncles' in LOKI.

Tara Sivec and Andi Arndt teamed up to write this delightful story and it is narrated brilliantly by Andi. I snapped this up on Audible and found every excuse available to do jobs round the house just so I could keep listening.
Heidi Larson is a 25yr old woman who is let go from her Kindergarten Teacher post and in searching for a new job ends up working in admin for a company that records audible books....specifically erotic romance. To say Heidi has led a sheltered life is an understatement but it's an endearing innocence. She isn't a virgin but she has never really experienced life or people outside of her hometown. Waconia. For the record, I want to live in Waconia - it sounds like a riot.
Heidi ends up podcasting excerpts of erotic novels. It is hilarious. I was laughing so hard - the way the book is written and how Andi Arndt delivers it is pure comedic genius. All the time the podcasting is happening, Heidi is lusting / crushing over her gorgeous next door neighbour Brent. Slowly her confidence grows and she develops her relationship with him. Both Heidi and Brent are so likeable.
The secondary characters are some of the best I have ever read. The small town setting made me wish I was there and the humour made my day brighter. The story goes at a good pace and there really isn't too much angst - this book does not need angst , it's got enough sparkle and fun to endear it to the reader.
Finally - I have to say this - I actually cheered and fist pumped when this book absolutely owned the people who criticise / berate the romance genre. They do it kindly & with class but I bet every romance reader that reads/ listens to this book will identify with the way people make assumptions about our community. Well played Tara and Andi.

Four years later their paths cross again but can Quinn forgive him? Who else have they made connections with? I felt so sad for all of them. These were young people that were broken but somehow they survived. This author creates characters with such resilience and they always pull my heartstrings.
This story will make your heart hurt but Ms Dykes writes one hell of a roller coaster love story and you have to trust her that everything will be ok. There are very dark themes but it is balanced well and the darkness doesn't overwhelm the story.
If you have read this author's other work then you will recognise lots of the secondary characters (especially Philip and Gillian from Mislead). I love seeing previous characters.
HEA? Yes Cheating? They both have relationships with other people in their time apart - Logan does not sleep around , there is one girl he sees on and off but it lacks any real emotional substance - more friends with benefits....more
This was the much anticipated third book focussing on Lilly and Z. It carries straight on from the previous book and although our4 Z and Lilly Stars.
This was the much anticipated third book focussing on Lilly and Z. It carries straight on from the previous book and although our couple are together, they are facing huge problems and Lilly in particular has to decide whether she is going to stay by Z's side or if the lifestyle and the risks it carries are too much for her.
I did enjoy this story but it was a little bit slow to get going and for me it didn't really pick up until the 38% mark. The first part is important though and is pivotal to the story.
The secondary characters are building in the LOKI world and some are more likeable than others. The Downstate Charter is different to our Upstate LOKI guys and I have struggled a little with the division. It felt very much like this book is a huge turning point in the series and I am excited to see what happens next.
Loved how Murphy can still mess with Z .... It doesn't matter that he is the temporary Downstate President.
I press the white button. “Please state your business. Now I’m annoyed. “Are you fucking serious? It’s your president. “What’s the password? “Let me in or I’m going to shoot whoever this is. “That was yesterday’s password. The prankster laughs and I finally realize it’s Murphy fucking with me.

When the hotshot hockey player falls for the (extra)ordinary girl.
I’m the help. That event was for rich, famous people who donate to the Blaze Foundation so they can meet Blaze players. My only role was to carry around a tray of drinks and not drop it.
This is definitely my favourite book in this series so far.
Lindy is a loyal, quirky . down to earth hockey fan who works at the concessions stalls in the arena where the Chicago Blaze play. For years , the unattainable hockey forward , Victor Lane has been her crush.
I’m twenty-three years old. Too old to have a crush on someone who couldn’t be further out of my league. I should probably be sensible and accept a date with Manny, the janitor at the Carson Center who told Ari he likes me. Manny has yellow teeth, and he picks his nose. I just haven’t been able to bring myself to accept that this is my league.
One night they meet by accident - this has to be of the best ways I have seen a H/h meet- and Victor likes Lindy but he totally friend zones her.
This woman I just met a few minutes ago seems to believe in me more than I do myself. And it’s not just the blanket reinforcement all fans feel for the players on their team. She knows my strengths and weaknesses. Lindy is a student of the game of hockey
But slowly Victor starts to see all the good in Lindy and the girl he wanted as a friend becomes so much more.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about her every day, actually. She’s warm and funny. It feels good to be around her. Not just good, but…effortless.
I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. This is not an insta love. The character development was really well done. There is quite a lot going on in the background too but it never detracts from the main love story.
As a Hero , Victor ticks pretty much all the boxes. Seeing him fall for Lindy was like Kindle catnip. I was in my element.
My entire life, I’ve been an ‘I’—just me, all alone. Being a ‘we is fucking fantastic when the other half of it is Lindy.
Lindy is in my Heroines Hall of Fame - she is so beautifully written and I loved her from the very start - yes, she's quiet but she is so strong and is in no way a pushover. I felt Victor was the perfect man for our girl.
