Worm was barely readable to me. I love 'B' movie creature features. I love the crazy situations, the humor, and the implausibility. This book 2 Stars
Worm was barely readable to me. I love 'B' movie creature features. I love the crazy situations, the humor, and the implausibility. This book simply came across as bad to me. I did not like any characters. I did not find anything to be funny. I hated that a worm could just about fly through the air and somehow liquify a dog in a mouth to dog explosion.
Meh...

I am probably being a little generous on my rating as this book did have some problems. Overall, I liked it. Once again this is not a deep, slo3 Stars
I am probably being a little generous on my rating as this book did have some problems. Overall, I liked it. Once again this is not a deep, slow, thinking series. The cast is not overly large, although it is bigger than book one. The main characters are stereotypical, but likable nonetheless.
This novel moves the story quickly into war and the dark side of the world. Our heroes POV'S benefit from the fact that they go on separate journies. The world building is the most disappointing aspect of this book. Here we have our entire story told in a land of complete darkness yet there is very little described to us that would make it work. There are no cool fungal plants that thrive in darkness and in the moonlight. We are given little to enjoy or to believe in.
The last quarter of this fast page turning fantasy was very good. The ending is excellent. Even with my gripes, there is no reason for me to not go on with this series. Fantasy fans will find something to like about these books.
OK!
