Otherwise, it'll be a slow read (not the enjoyable or beneficial type).
As a professional software engineer, I find the electrical and hardware discussions in the first few chapters quite interesting and well written. I find the second half of the book, starting from chapter 7 (organizing data), extremely dry and boring. The author doesn't do justice to the topics covered in the application layer at all. In fact, I think readers should just skip the second half, or maybe just skim through it....more

This book is very educational and quite comprehensive for its length.I have been using Linux for years, in my university days and my day-to-day work. This book is very educational and quite comprehensive for its length. It helps bridged many gaps in my knowledge on topics such as device management, boot-loading process, network configurations, and resource management. The author has a knack for explaining complex concepts in simple words. Though, I also find the contrary in certain cases. But, since I have the liberty to skip over those, I did.
I'd recommend this book if your work involves managing Linux servers, or that you are curious to learn more about the operating system....more

Richard Branson is a colorful character and I'm glad he wrote this autobiography to share his story. It was a fun read at first, but the book overstays its welcome. I find the writing got quite tedious about half way through.
I have finished about 70% of the audiobook. I have learned enough about Richard and am losing my patience. So I'll drop it here....more
